The location of the hotel was great. Short drive to downtown and a shorter drive to the NFL and MLB stadiums.

The staff was rude and lied on multiple occasions. 3 different people. The pool was closed once for rain but the next day they hadn’t opened it even though they said it should’ve been. They told us we could have late checkout and then changed their mind that morning 15 minutes before checkout and said we needed to checkout because they booked our room. The managers were nice but it took 5 plus phone calls to managers, staff, and Expedia to get it straightened out. They wouldn’t give a full refund. Overall experience was horrific and we were kicked out at 11 even though they had told us 1pm was fine. We were planning on showering and doing guest laundry but were unable to do any of that or use the pool. Very disappointing stay.

I think we were one of the only ones there. Terrible smell. Unclean areas in the bathroom. We left after 15 minutes and found new accommodations

Communication with staff was good. Hotel was quiet, and the bed was very welcoming after our long day. The breakfast was surprisingly interesting and well rounded. They made my husband's day because he got greens with his eggs. Nicely done, but not too fancy, and well worth the cost.

Staff was helpful with questions about places to eat. I think your check-in brochure should include instructions about WiFi and internet access. The room was comfortable, but the bathroom could use some more hooks for hanging and towel bars.

I stayed at the Sonesta Essential in Blue Springs, MO, and unfortunately had a disturbing experience. I found a bed bug on my pillow, took photos, and immediately reported it to the front desk. Instead of a proper response (room change, inspection, or deep cleaning), I was simply given new blankets and told nothing could be done. Sleeping in that room felt unsafe and unacceptable. No apology, no accountability, and no solution was offered — just excuses. I also reached out to Expedia for support, but the hotel denied any refund or compensation. This situation shows a serious lack of hygiene, guest safety, and customer care. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, and I strongly urge management to take this issue seriously before more guests are affected.

The beds were soft. Our room was set up nicely. When we first arrived, the tv wouldn't work but it got fixed the next day. Breakfast was simple, but good. The staff was nice. The few things that I didn't like was our hotel room key kept not working even though we kept it safely away from anything that may mess it up. I couldn't tell if the tub was dirtybor stained. The top drawer to the provided dresser kept opening up. One of the bed's boxspring didn't line up with the metal frame it was sitting on. I didn't see it until I hit my shun on it because blankets covered it. That really hurt. You do have to have a $100 deposit that I didn't know about. I wasn't prepared for that. I had to borrow money from my father in law to make sure I still had enough to feed my family. It didn't bother me...I actually liked that we were next to the Harley Davidson store. Overall, I do recommend and would stay again.

The mini refrigerator made a loud humming noise all night. Otherwise it was a decent hotel experience. When i checked in it was brought to my attention that there would be a $100 deposit fee which i was told would be refunded. That fee was not stated on the Expedia site.
