Staying with my family in a Family Room; requested for Harbour View but got the City View. No point taking the Airport Shuttle Service of the hotel as it's of no use. Better to catch a taxi from the Airport to the Hotel - Fare: HKD 430/-. Hotel should have an organised city tour for guests. Overall services - Good
English : Nice place. Located in a street that is full of local culture food and other things. Surrounded with everything u might need. Just one thing. The cleaning persons don’t speak English, which is not acceptable in Hong Kong. Not crazy English either from the lobby personnel. Got to work on that. The rest is ok for the price. Français : faut parler anglais les gars
It has mold in the bathroom, toilet not working and they didn’t change my room for 2 nights. Also they gave me a connected room then I could hear the other guest talking with his family since 4am until 7am. In front of the hotel has a street fair and stinks fish all the time besides being crowded and noisy.
My daughter and husband have just spent a few days here and oh my goodness they were so blessed to have been upgraded!!!! The room was fabulous! they have had such a lovely time! I’m due to stay for 12 days at the end of this week too and am really hoping for the same!!! I shall be writing a review afterwards so watch this space.... but seriously the staff were very friendly and helpful, the view fantastic , and the service they received really great! Will hopefully be using every time I stay in Hong Kong !!
I travel frequently for work and personal, and I have never left a bad review before, or had such a poor experience with a hotel..... This was an accidental reservation via Booking.com due to saved credit card details on my iPad (I was boarding an international flight at the time - the one and only time I will make this mistake!) - the incorrect booking was immediately cancelled and the hotel notified within 5 minutes. The Hotel was contacted via phone again the next day as they claimed I had "no showed"... when they were reminded that they had been told by Booking.com immediately that the booking was a mistake, their response was that they would charge the full 3 night fee anyway as that was the cancellation fee, and "Booking.com always tell lies about things, it's our money now and there's nothing you can do about it" !!!! (literally a quote from their hotel manager.. I won't name as I don't feel personal attacks are fair). They also said they'd already charged the fee and "hotels aren't able to reverse charges" (quote)... when I pointed out I had not yet been charged, they simply hung up the phone. To add insult to injury, the hotel did not charge me for nearly a week, and when they finally did, they charged more then the initial booking fee AND charged it at a much higher exchange rate then my bank would charge, leaving me over £370 out of pocket !!! After many emails and phone calls with Booking.com and the hotel (who initially refused to speak with me at all)... the end story is that Booking.com don't agree with the hotel and several Booking.com staff members have repeatedly advised me that they feel it's grossly unfair, however "there's nothing they can do about it"... the hotel refuses to even discuss the matter, despite a compromise being offered by myself (payment of 50% of the total 3 night fee despite even this being grossly unfair!). Having looked at other reviews since, I see there are several complaints about items going missing during a stay, or incorrect charges being made, with hostile responses from staff when questioned. So.... be VERY careful when booking with this hotel, and be aware that if you have any issues at all it is HIGHLY UNLIKELY the hotel will help, and in fact they're more likely to become rude and threatening as they did with me no matter how polite and calm you remain. Personally, I would NEVER every stay here. It takes a lot for me to become upset normally, but after my incredibly frustrating experience with this hotel I felt it was only fair to warn other travellers.
This is a great hotel, and close to transit. It is located in a market area, which I thought was a plus but those who don't want to look at meat and fish on the way to their hotel might not like it. It's a big hotel and if you do stay on an upper floor, you will indeed have a nice view of the the water. One one of our stays they upgraded us to a suite for free. We did get a slightly mold covered bathtub one time, but they were apologetic and I think we might get a discount on our next stay. Overall, the staff are helpful and friendly and the rooms are comfortable. The price is reasonable, unless it is really a peak period, then it can get a bit pricey.
This hotel provides amazing value. We had the reviews and we went with low expectations. However this hotel was a gem.Close to the north point station. Its in a middle of a wet market so its really an authentic Hongkong experience. Check in was smooth. The rooms were not very fancy but were practical and clean. The flush in the toilet has a trick attached. Flush it like a hand pump and it works fine. The concierge is extremely helpful and provides great tips to move around the city. The shuttle service is very handy as well. Please be open to having a more local authentic experience in this hotel. I really have only goods things to say about the establishment.
The location of the hotel may be a turn off to some as right outside the hotel is a market. But the rooms were clean and spacious. The bathroom needs to be renovated tho as the bathtub tends to get clogged up. Overall, our stay was comfortable and if you want an a hotel that is good for the money, this is it.
We lost some cloths while staying in this hotel. They were either stolen or removed by accident by the cleaning staff. The cloths were of high value to us due to a lot of positive memories associated with them. We reported this immediately to the manager on duty at the reception. They couldn't help us and didn't offer anything as a compensation. We were really disappointed how they handled this issues. They treated us as if we were lying to them. So, please take care of your belongings when staying in this hotel!
room was smelly and just plain nasty, they canned my room the next day and it was OK, the service was ok, the location wasn't great, everything was ordinary, caters more for mainlander chinese I think, and like in many places now in HK, they do not like western/white travellers
