The Upper House5.0 out of 5.0

This hotel is ideal for a short stay in Hong Kong, even for families although there are no special facilities like a swimming pool. The design of the hotel and our room was very tasteful and lean, in a positive way. The view from the shower on the harbour will always be remembered. Helpful extras were provided in the room, e.g. a nice beauty bag.The staff is cosmopolitain, very supportive and friendly.
I've been fortunate to travel internationally many times for my work and have stayed at some extraordinary hotels. But hand on heart The Upper House is my favourite home away from home. The rooms are world class - both in style and size, but without a doubt the best part of the The Upper House are the people! Service was absolutely outstanding and a special shout out to Michelle and Vinchi from Guest Experiences for making our stay so memorable.
The Upper House really is almost perfect. I've stayed with family 3 or 4 times over the past few years and it remains one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in, let alone in HK, where I've also stayed in the Four Seasons and Mandarin Oriental. Rooms are huge, modern and with lots of excellent details. The decor throughout the hotel is cool and luxurious (a lot of places in Hong Kong sacrifice the former for the latter). It's brilliant with kids but still a cool place to spend time. But most of all the service is excellent. This recent stay we chatted about our next destination (Vietnam) and the guest services sent us his recommendations for the area we are staying in. There were little gifts in the room a couple of times during our (3-night) stay. The breakfast is outstanding and drinks in the bar were also great and with a spectacular view. As far as I can tell the only negative is not having a pool on site but that's a very small thing in an otherwise perfect place to stay in HK.
Starters were mind blowing. I really liked the presentation of the food. But I would love if they will innovate. Thanks for the good meal and great service. Keep up the great job done. I really liked the fantastic customer service
Recently I have a short stay at the Upper House, Hong Kong. It is supposed to be the best hotel in Hong Kong and it is absolutely true. The moment I have stepped into the foyer, I felt heavenly. The welcome staff are courteous and professional. The décor is absolutely modern, stylish and flawless. I have booked the smallest room but it is a really large room when compared to any other hotels in Hong Kong. I was upgraded to a room with harbour view. The room has been kept spotlessly clean. The atmosphere has been soothing and relaxing. Breakfast is delicious and the waiters are well trained. The staff are cream of the top. The only tiny thing I am not quite happy with is the darkness of the long corridors to get to the foyer and escalator. I needed to be very careful when I walked along those areas on my own.
We have been traveling on business to Hong Kong for over 40 years and finally found a "home away from home" at the UPPER HOUSE. Absolutely outstanding hotel, service and environment like I have never seen before in all the years of traveling to Hong Kong, We were so well taken care of, that I would not stay in my usual hotel on the Kowloon side any longer. Despite the extra time it takes to get to my offices in TST, I will be staying forever at the Upper House. As good as a 5***** hotel gets. Hospitality above and beyond and everything we needed they had and if they did not, they would find for us. Absolutely fantastic and have told all my friends
This was our fourth time at the Upper House, and there is a reason why this is our favorite hotel in the world: it is just beautiful, and the service is incredible. Every one goes above and beyond, and we loved the chats we had with the friendly staff. Sabrina, the Guest Relations Director, felt like a friend to us. Thank you and we will definitely be back!!
Spent 5 nights at Upper House - a truly memorable experience. Room was beautiful, staff extremely friendly and helpful. Cafe Gray great place for breakfast, lunch or drinks. Food was also excellent. Easy to navigate covered walkways (especially to stay out of sun and rain) to nearby malls and attractions.
Hong Kong is full of hotels. All levels, tastes and maybe even budgets. The upper house could be the one that stand out from others for concept and architecture. Characterized by a very minimal style (which reminded me a lot some Japanese hotels) and for the use of natural colors and materials, perhaps it is lacking of personality to make that step to the podium of the BEST. The rooms have a strong smell, almost moldy. The decor is simple, but there are some details related to functionality that are missing. There are no hangouts next to the bedside table to reload cell phones. Not enough space for languages. The fridge, placed in a kitchenette close to the bed, really too loud. Bathroom are great, all in marble with both bathtub and shower with a spectacular view of the city. Good breakfast that ensures tradition and contemporaneity. Personally, what leaves me less satisfied is access to the hotel via escalator to reach the lifts leading to the rooms and the restaurant. A little cheap, a bit uncomfortable
We had stayed at the Upper House three years ago, it was most memorable. Upon our return, we were greeted warmly by Vinchi Chau, Assistant Director of Guest Experience. Just like our last visit, one of our daughters had her birthday during our stay. And just like the previous stay, Vinchi decorated our suite for her birthday. He completely outdid himself this time. He put flower petals spelling out 'Happy Birthday' and 16 balloons on the bed for our daughter's sweet sixteen! In addition to a very tasty cheesecake, he not only gave the birthday girl a very nice gift but also a gift for our other daughter so she would not feel left out....most considerate. We also found out that he did all this on a day that he wasn't even scheduled to work. Separately, one Sunday, on our way to church, my wife had lost her diamond charm. The hotel staff was most helpful in looking for it. On our departure, Vinchi came to the hotel on his day off to send us off. Truly above and beyond excellence! There are many 5 star hotels in Hong Kong, but if you are looking for one with personal attention, stay at the Upper House.
