Stayed for two nights in a small suite overlooking the bay Room was fantastic and the best staff I have ever come across Great breakfast and top evening bar! Handy for the shops in Pacific Place Can’t wait to return

I have spent one night at the Upper house Hotel. my BF and I felt very special. the welcome was very warm, friendly staff and attentive to details the design and the atmosphere very warm and modern. the room had an exquisite beautiful views and heavenly beds. the dinner at the Café Grey was delicious, amazing cocktails with best view the Upper house is definitely the hottest spot in HK, Its feels like home

With its fame and numerous recommendations from friends and various sources, I booked with confidence and have quite high expectations for this stay. I unfortunately have to say, while the hotel is quite nice itself, fame has probably exceed hotel itself and the price tag is probably not quite justifiable with the level of luxury (other than interior renovation) as they say they would deliver. The rooms are quite spacious, beautifully renovated with a decent (not superb) view. We stayed in studio 80 with half island half harbor view. The interior is well decorated with a sanctuary in the urban concrete jungle feel to it. The extra wide window ledge allows you to sit and enjoy the view to the Victoria harbor. Half of the mini bar is free as the guest service rep emphasized while walking us through the room. During the stay we used their house car service. For a short distance it is complimentary, or it can associate with a charge for a longer trip. My experience with the hotel is only average. Upon arrival, there’s no one at or outside the front entrance. No door man no bell man just no one. We initially thought we went to the wrong entrance but realized there are staff inside the hotel foyer. So my friend and I carried our luggages to the front desk to check in. As we are checking in, one of their staff return from her break and brought a tray of coffees. They start to splitting coffees while checking us in. I think I’d be more lenient if I was checking into a Howard Johnson but not a room cost over $5000 HKD a night. Perhaps it is the initial unpleasant experience that has set the tone, the rest of the hotel experience is much less impressive too. While we were drinking at the bar, I assumed they all speak mandarin or Cantonese since it’s in HK. But in fact some of the waiters do not speak either languages. My friend don’t speak English and it has caused a slight embarrassment. Especially the unapologetic tone from the waiter when telling my friend that he doesn’t speak mandarin nor Cantonese. In fact, same thing happened again in the morning at breakfast and the waiter’s response is no better than the one we encountered the night prior. But we were mentally prepared and my friend quickly adjusted herself and let me do the ordering. I have to say that my experience might be a one-off incident, but I truly did not sense much warmth in the hotel. Many of the staff are a little stuck up (probably seen enough rich people) and you don’t see people smiling when you nod to them. I also got mono tone response when asking directing in the hotel, nothing genuine. Our view is not the best, I’d say the higher floors of Shangri-La and Conrad will probably get the same view looking at harbor. Any how, I probably wouldn’t come back nor recommend this hotel. I think their fame and novelty outshine their day to day operation. You probably don’t want to pay for a shiny price tag with complimentary poker face on the side.

Quite simply this will probably be the best hotel we will stay in during all of 2018. Danny and Sabina and all the crew at the front desk could not have been more welcoming and helpful. Restaurant bookings, tips on what to go and how to get there. They were fantastic. The rooms are spacious ( and this is Hong Kong!) with dramatic views over the harbour. We ate once in the hotel and it did not disappoint. So save up and go - you won’t regret it.

I would like to thank the fantastic, energetic and passionate team at Upper House for another wonderful stay. I could not think of a better hotel in the world in terms of warm personal touch and attentive service. Special thanks to Marcel for accommodating me at the very last minute, Dani for checking up on me even during his off day and to Michelle An for her wonderful help in securing a table at a very popular restaurant at the very last minute. Michelle’s service epitomises what upper house is about. When she called the restaurant and realised it was fully booked out she didn’t just call me to tell me it was booked out. She informed me she will call around to find out if anyone has an “in” to the restaurant and in the mean time has booked a table in the bar area with the same food and placed me on the waitlist for a table at the main area. This is exactly the extra mile we guests greatly appreciate. To many examples of great service. Thanks to the entire team!

The rooms are modern, immaculately clean and very spacious with zen like atmosphere. Beautiful artwork in the room and throughout the hotel. Excellent top notch breakfast at Cafe Gray on the top floor of the hotel. Wonderful views of the island and bustling bar scene at night. But the most memorable thing in Upper House is an outstanding, warm and personal service from each and every staff member. As a business owner I know how difficult it is to hire, train and retain a great employee. Kudos for picking the best staff and to an amazing employee training program with attention to the smallest detail. The staff in Upper House made me feel like family. Best stay in Hong Kong. Highly recommended!

We spent 3 nights as a family of 5 and cannot stop raving about the rooms, the amenities and most of all the service. Patrick, at the front desk, went above and beyond to make our experience in Hong Kong exceptional, including arranging for a special thank you gift for a host in HK after our departure. The room was exquisite with beautiful views and heavenly beds. We were well taken care of by the hotel staff from pick up at the airport, to massages in the room and timely, thorough housekeeping. The service was very personalized and made us feel very special.

Service and amenities are first class. Rooms are spacious and clean. Staff very attentive and detail oriented. Cafe Grey is a wonderful place to take in the city. Food and drinks are fantastic. All around a great hotel and place to stay in HK

My 80 year old parents and I spent a few days in hk at the upper house in Hong Kong . From the time we were picked up from the airport till we departed, it was flawless, professional and sincere service . The guest experience officers booked hard to get restaurants ahead of time. My parents have a hard time getting around and coli, one of the crew, dropped us up and picked us up in one of the hotel cars. He helped them get on and off the suv. It was a big help to me. The young people at the reception , Janice , Michelle, went beyond the call of duty to help . I had Irene finally booked two rooms but they surprised us with the penthouse suite so my parents and I could be in the same room . I had problems with opening my suitcase so Wilson brought it down to the Tumi store and picked it up . They all showed so much pride in their work . My parents have their best stay in hk ever and so did I.

The only hotel or "House" in Hong Kong that had the largest room size starting from the most basic room category. Stayed at the Upper Suite where every room had a view of the island. Every other aspect of the house were pleasant and delightful. Such a shame though, that no complimentary champagne/wine/any other alcohol was offered to us for celebrating our Special Occasion at the House. The MaxiBar was free and restocked daily except for wines and champagnes. What the House can do is offer free wines and champagnes in the MaxiBar for a day, or at least have a bottle of champagne served for guests ready in the room. Pretty shocking also that the roses decoration in the room were not made from real petals. Some misunderstandings occurred where I received black tea instead of green tea when I ordered a green tea at the Cafe Gray Deluxe, and every table there by the window was reserved and I was told the guests will be arriving soon but after having dined there for over an hour none showed up. Perhaps it was just me, but one male bartender and one other male waiter seemed cold and "un-smiling" while I was there for lunch. Will definitely be back with my family to stay at "The House" again and try its penthouse or suite with harbour view.
