The Upper House

The hotel is really one of the best hotel in town. Employees were really helpful and friendly. Great room design. It has a short cut way or access to the mall. Nice view and lots of windows. Don't likes:the toilet does not have an exhaust fun and no toilet seats bidet like other Asian luxury hotels. Fitness center is small and it has only treadmills and elliptical.

To celebrate an anniversary we stayed at The Upper House and to say it was amazing is an understatement. The room decor is exquisite and the attention to detail is unparalleled compared to other 5 star hotels I have stayed at. André Fu the designer truly did a remarkable job of transforming this hotel in to a luxurious haven in the business district of Hong Kong. We stayed in an Upper Suite facing the harbor of Hong Kong and the views are breathtaking and I could look at that view for days without getting bored. The layout was very generous and the suite is divided in to one large living area, bedroom and a huge bathroom with a bathtub like no other I have seen before. Imagine taking a bath whilst enjoying the view of the hustle and bustle of Hong Kong. I took three baths during our stay and can't wait to go back again. The amenities are plentiful and they give you a whole set of toiletries and even bath oil from Ren. Housekeeping did a great job during our stay and also decorated the room with a lovely arrangement of petals on the bed and in the bathroom. If you stay at this hotel you have to go for drinks at Cafe Grey and try some of their signature cocktails. The Earl Grey Martini is one of my recommendations and there is nothing better than seeing the sunset with a delicious cocktail in your hand. Breakfast at Cafe Grey is an à la carte buffet and the choices are innovative and offer a good mix of healthy and sinful options and are of course delicious. I really enjoyed the quinoa porridge with passion fruit as well as the short ribs eggs benedict. However what makes this hotel outstanding is the staff which works there and takes pride in their job and it truly shows. Marcel the GM and his team truly make it a stay to remember. It's the attention to detail as well as wanting to go the extra mile which makes you feel special during your stay. They take the guest experience to a whole other level and are masters in anticipating the needs of their guests. When we arrived Sabrina from the guest experience team arranged for a bottle of champagne as well as a small gift from the Upper House. The icing on the cake was a photo collage of photos from my partner and myself which is something we will remember for years to come. On another night Dylan left us a novel in the room as a gift which was a very nice touch and perfect for my flight back. I was very sad to leave the hotel when we checked out but will definitely be back again when I visit Hong Kong the next time. Whilst the 5 star hotel scene is very competitive in Hong Kong The Upper House has found a way to stand out amongst the other hotels in that category and I truly recommend everyone to stay there if you can.

Upper House has always been my favourite hotel so when I want to have a staycation, there is no doubt that my choice would be The Upper House. Love their chic design and how attentive the staffs are. Warm welcome at the entrance and efficient check in procedure. Following the staff to my room and immediately fell in love with it. All their rooms have an amazing view, be it the infamous Victoria Harbour or the lovely Victoria Peak, its just stunning. The staff gave me a little tour and introduction of the room and the highlight is the "not so mini" mini bar. Its all free and can ask for refill during your stay. The bathroom is also one of the favourite feature of the room. The room is paperless, so if you want to order room service or read about the service they provide, you just simply switch no the TV and you can do and arrange anything everything with just a click away! I had the best staycation ever!

Everything was top-notch at the House. From the renowned Cafe Grey to the meticulous details that staffs put in every single need of the guests, UH exceeded my expectations (which was high at the beginning considering the rave reviews I have already read). Great job the UH team - thank you Izi, Janice, Michelle, Shirley and everyone else in the team.

It has been a few years since my last visit. I used to be here regularly and it has been exciting and a total pleasure to be back. Often your memory betrays you and you remember things better than they are, not so at the Upper House. Everything once again exceeded all expectations. It has been a fantastic stay, great, large rooms and a fantastic personal service - overall a great experience!

Went for an event and had dinner at Upper House. Finally a place in HK where the service is up to standard for these kind of places. Really enjoyed the food, wines, champagne and top quality service. Thanks. Also amazing views from the 49th floor...

Every detail of the hotel was perfect. Harbour view room is highly recommendable, the view over the harbour makes stay perfect. Also a very friendly and personal service. Very nice to get home to a room like this after visiting the city.

The Upper House was absolutely luxurious. The room was exceptionally spacious and lovely, but what stands out the most is the fantastic service. Every wish was granted, and actually anticipated. Some of the highlights include an unexpected breakfast packed up for the ride to the airport (since we had to leave early before the restaurant opened), fantastic restaurant recommendations and "priority wait list" for locations that don't take reservations. (We were seated immediately even though others arriving at the same time were told there was a 2 hour wait at very popular restaurants.) Little gifts were provided in the room (scented candles, travel case with eye cream and other travel essentials, etc). The view from our Harbor 70 room was partial harbour, partial island and was fantastic. I would definitely recommend a harbour view if given the choice. The check in process was excellent. A guest service professional met us by name at the door and immediately showed us to our room and demonstrated all of the features of the room while providing in-room check in services. We absolutely recommend this hotel!

We stayed at the upper house for four days, the hotel itself was outstanding across the board. The rooms are large and well appointed, clean and luxurious. I really could not want for more from any hotel. The hotel is located in the same building as the Marriott allowing for a multitude of restaurant choices. The location is a short walk to the subway which allows you to move freely throughout the city. You can easily (10 min) walk to the tramway as well as very nice city park with attractions for couples and children. SOHO is about a 15 minute walk as well, as is the Wan Chai area. So really I cannot think of a better more central location for a Hong Kong holiday. Also note that the harbor is under significant expansion and hotels located in close proximity can be very noisy. That is not the case with upper house, we heard no noise at all during our stay. I will say that the restaurants were not as compelling as the hotel, fortunately there are many choices in the area and if they are not to your liking it will not affect the hotel experience in any way. (separate review) The upper house will absolutely be my go to hotel for future visits to Hong Kong.

Every time i stay at upper house, i decide to stay there again. Its perfect. The spacious rooms, luxurious feel, attentive staff- everything is great. I pointed out while checking out that one of the sockets in the room was not ok,and different staff members apologised a few times about it. It wasnt even a big issue. The manager gave me his card and asked me to call him next time i come to UH. The only negative i have ever heard about uh is no pool, but it isnt a requirement for me during biz travel.
