We stayed here for one night last week. Best price around, quick and friendly check in, first impressions are good, nice and clean. Our room was good, again clean and comfortable, the only issue was with the Coffee pot which didn't work, I could have phoned but didn't bother, lots of free Coffee in the Lobby. The hotel is close to downtown Dartmouth, there is a bus stop opposite the hotel, the buses run approximately every 25 minutes, get a transfer for the Ferry over to downtown Halifax, a nice little trip for $2.00 each. Coming back get off right outside the Hotel, sweet !!. In the morning they have a nice Buffet breakfast with Scrambled Eggs and Ham etc. Definitely recommend this Hotel to friends and family !!
Don't be fooled by location as only a few minutes from anywhere. The hotel is clean and staff where very friendly. Room was updated and comfortable. Fridge, microwave too. Price was great and you get free breakfast. Great place to stay.
Friendly staff and a clean room. The breakfast and all day coffer were also great. It has easy access and is relatively close to halifax, just across the bridge. The only thing missing is a pool but we knew that going in. I would definitely stay here again.
I stayed here for three nights when I had trouble getting a reservation at the last minute in one of the other hotels I usually go to. I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. It was spotless, the bed was very comfortable, the location was convenient (although a bit difficult to figure out how to get to the first time). The breakfast was really very good. It was advertised as a continental breakfast, which I thought meant just pastries and other baked goods, but it included very good scrambled eggs with a different breakfast meat each day. The bathroom was a bit small but fine for one person, and I was sorry there was no elevator as my suitcase was difficult to lug to the 2nd floor, but otherwise I was very happy, especially given the reasonable price.
We reserved adjoining rooms two (2) months before travelling. Upon arrival, we were told adjoining rooms not available; side-by-side was best they could do. Why? Because, the people who had stayed in the adjoining rooms I had reserved, decided to stay longer. I didn't understand why my reservation, which was done well in advance, was totally ignored. It was like a Seinfeld episode! Why was I inconvenienced after someone else decided to change their minds? Shouldn't they be given another room? Anyway, ok - we accepted it. But, when we got to our rooms, the hallway was full of the skunky smell of marijuana. This was getting worse than a Seinfeld episode! We had small children with us and some of us also had allergies, especially smoke. I didn't bother to complain. The front-desk wasn't very helpful about the "reservation" problem, so we accepted the situation and simply shortened our stay at this Comfort Inn and found accommodations elsewhere for the duration of our stay in Halifax. We did like the continental breakfast in the morning, though - love the waffle-maker.
Room was really good. Bed was very comfortable. Complimentary water was appreciated. I'm an IT guy and the nice lady at the front desk was able to get my phone connected to WIFI when I could not. Got a bit of a discount with CAA. Location is very good. Rooms facing south are better for waking up with no sun. King of Donair place across the street if you are into that. Close to highway. Standard continental breakfast fare.
This was a very good room and great value. We had a queen size bed and the room had a couch which makes things very comfortable. Good size fridge, not mini bar type. Room was very clean, provided all the amenities needed (including real coffee cups and glasses). Location was close to restaurants. Check in was quick and efficient. Most important to us was the wifi service which was exceptional compared to most hotels. Breakfast was adequate. Close to shopping at Mic Mac Mall (about 10 minutes). Usually stay at the HIE when in Halifax but will definitely be back to this hotel in the future.
The reason for the 4 star is as follows; the rooms are a decent size and they are clean with comfortable beds. However, the breakfast is very poor. Everything tasted like it came out of a box and was microwaved. I would recommend staying here and eating breakfast elsewhere.
It's not a bad choice to stay for a night. If you use the bridge you can be downtown halifax in a few minutes. Also gives you quick access to burnside and Dartmouth crossing areas. Helpful staff, free parking, breakfast and ok rooms make for a alright stay.
Room attendants and breakfast staff smiling and friendly while there. Breakfasts enjoyable and nice to start the day. Front desk very accommodating when looking for different room. Inn located in a quiet area and easy access to main roads. Great overall experience.
