The staff was super friendly and helpful. They were able to check us is early, which was great. Parking was easy and just behind the property. The room was clean and nice the bed was very comfortable. Having breakfast included was helpful and the location is great for being able to walk around. I wouldn't call this a "Boutique" hotel - it's more like a small historic hotel with a B&B feel. We had one of the lower cost rooms, and it was on the small side, but we didn't really need a lot of space since we weren't there a lot. We were near the main stairs and in the morning it was fairly noisy - it's an old building though so to be expected. All in all though it's a nice change of pace from your typical city hotel.

I liked the style of the place. I enjoyed the library and the tea offered 24/7. Breakfast was not the quality I expected - the only warm item offered was beans in a crockpot. The only proteins included hard boiled eggs and cold ham. It was difficult to get a hold of a person at the desk at times. At other times, staff was very helpful. The hotel is in a great location, walking distance to the harborwalk. They advertise parking as being available on the property, but there were very few spots available, so unless you get there early you will probably have to park off the property. It wasn't bad overall, but I would probably look to stay elsewhere next time I am in Halifax.

We enjoyed our stay. The staff were amazing. Great location with a short walk to boardwalk. Parking was good. Breakfast was delicious. The stairs were a bit of an issue for luggage but the staff were there to help. We would recommend this hotel.

Excellent location. Friendly staff. There is a very nice library where they serve drinks.

Great place centrally located. Super friendly staff

Nice boutique hotel in a good location. Although free parking is advertised, it is limited to first come first serve. However they do give you an option to park with a pass overnight until 9 A.M. in a nearby lot & tell you about an option to park on the street at a meter overnight til 8 A.M. The room is clean. You should note that there are 4 floors, no elevator for anyone who has difficulty walking. Would recommend this place near the boardwalk.

Location was wonderful. I could walk to the harbor, the museums, and restaurants. Room was pleasant though a little warm even though the dehumidifier was running. I expected only a continental breakfast but was able to get a full breakfast even though there was no hot food.

Nice boutique hotel. Our room was okay. Lighting was dark and the slant ceiling was very dangerous. Hitting my head several times getting out of bed. Maybe the bed needs to be moved to another spot in the room. Breakfast was a nice touch but the variety of choices could have changed daily. Staff was nice but not overly helpful.

Great hotel in a good location - perfect for exploring the city on foot. We liked the historic buildings of the hotel and being able to park at the back of the hotel was great.

We liked this hotel. But, lots of stairs and no porters. We were ok with that but people need to be informed. Staff at check in are a mixed bag. First guy was not at all friendly or helpful.

We we're in an anx and was adaquite, but not up to what we expected. Very good personnel running the hotel. Excellent location for exploring the city, but would not stay here again.

The building and furnishings are a pleasant throw back to life as it used to be, and away from cookie cutter modern offerings. Very friendly staff. Conveniently located.

our stay there was fine, the room was small. access to the bed was limited to one side as the other was against a wall. The breakfast was very good, and the location within the city is good. I have been trying to find out if I can get a credit for a night I wasn't able to use due to flight cancellations we weren't able to use the first night. I talked to the staff about it and was assured that I wasn't charged for it, but was unable to convey to them that the room had already been paid for, (via Orbitz) so what I would need would be a credit, not the absence of an additional charge. I'm still hoping to get the issue resolved.

Pleasant convenient, close to harborfront and 20 minute walk to Dalhousie

Hotel has a whole lot of charm and character. Centrally located and has a high-end small restaurant Stories inside. We were there in early February and it was very cozy in the cold, snowy weather. No elevator and definitely some stairs. Comfortable but not ultra-modern.

It was a great place to stay that is close to all the shops, museums and restaurants that downtown Halifax has to offer.

Thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear our complimentary continental breakfast was not what you expected. We certainly take your feedback into consideration moving forward. As for parking we have a limited amount of complimentary onsite parking to which passes for the lot are given out on a first come first serve basis. In the event our onsite lot is full upon arrival we do provide complimentary off site overnight only parking options. Although it seems you did not enjoy your stay we hope we have to opportunity to host you again!
