Perfect location! Beautiful facility and excellent staff.

The location was ideal, an easy walk to the harbor, with lots of nice restaurants and shops nearby. The hotel is lovely, and our rooms were spacious, well-appointed and very comfortable. We'd gladly stay there again.

We liked the character of the place. Definitely not just another cookie cutter type hotel, but there were some quirky things. There were two elevators servicing the parking, but only one didn't require stairs to be used to get to your car and when you called the elevator you never knew which one you would get--a problem when you had luggage. Took until the 3rd day to get a bar of soap. Before then there was only a very tiny bottle of body wash. Housekeeping had to bring us additional body wash. Hot water was non-existent at peak times, such as in the mornings unless you got a shower really early.

Very friendly staff. Pretty, older hotel. Food was delicious.

They would not refund our money due to a cancelled flight and us having no way of getting into Halifax due to the airlines.

We were upgraded to a suite which was luxurious and spacious ! The hotel is in a great location in downtown Halifax. We would definitely stay there again!

The staff was friendly, professional, and so helpful!

There are lots of hotels in Halifax and there is a reason that people keep coming back to the Lord Nelson. Excellent staff, positioned right next to the amazing gardens and centrally located on Spring Street. Worth the stay every time for us.

What a nice hotel! Great location, extremely nice staff, clean room and comfy bed, all bundled in a place with character and old fashioned elegance, not a cookie cutter chain. Who could ask for more? We really enjoyed our stay here.

Great room, nice people, kind service, excellent location

We enjoyed our stay at the Lord Nelson hotel . Everyone was professional, friendly and accommodating .

Great place well located Close to everything for business or pleasure

within walking distance of most of Halifax, across the street from the beautiful gardens

For first time travelers to Halifax, this is a great hotel because of being easy walking distance to several really great places to see. Plenty of eating places from which to choose - all having great food. No problems with the room at all and we slept great. The helpfulness and friendliness of everyone we encountered was simply amazing. The downside of this hotel is airport transportation and hotel parking. A taxi ride between the hotel and airport was rather expensive, however it was offset by not paying hotel parking since we arrived too late at the airport to pickup our rental car. We would definitely stay at the Lord Nelson again.

The staff was wonderful. The rooms were clean and comfortably. I believe all the rooms are being upgraded with new furniture.

Excellent location, very clean, room as advertised

The advertisement said there would be a bath/shower and it was only a shower so this was a bit disappointing. Also, we could not get the Nespresso machine to work after following the instructions exactly as written. Other than that it was a lovely room and the staff was great.

Thank you for your feedback from your stay and I am sorry to hear that you experienced such trouble with the flight cancellations. Unfortunately when booking with a 3rd party the hotel doesn't have control over the refunds of guests. We hope you get the chance to visit Halifax again soon.
