We stayed one night at this hotel and was very happy with the cleanliness and comfort of the room. The location was great as we were able to walk to the boardwalk, restaurants & shopping, and the Halifax Citadel. We had an amazing view from our room and the breakfast included was very good! I would recommend this hotel to family and friends.

New and modern hotel with all the amenities you need. Free breakfast, pool, gym and very comfortable rooms if your on business vacation. Right in the heart of downtown Halifax and minutes from good restaurants and waterfront.

Newer hotel. We had a corner room. Room was spacious. Furnishing and fixtures were nicely done. Close to all downtown Halifax businesses and attractions. Breakfast buffet was complete. Would stay there again.

The standard room was far from standard the bed was sunk in the middle I had to liston to fan over head all night The staff changed my room then they would not make the bed the following day the last night was extremely loud would never stay there again

This was an excellent expereince, The hotel is very convenient to downtown Halifax. They were very helpful and accomodating in adjusting for the fact that our flight into Halifax had been cancelled, causing us to arrive a day later than planned. The rooms were in terrific shape. Be prepared, however, the Citadel Hotel is locted well above the harbor.

Everyone working at the hotel was nice enough, but it is clear that the building itself is essentially neglected. The mattresses appear to be from the 1980s as do the sheets, chairs, carpet, and other furniture. The elevators are also extremely old and slow. The toilet in my room broke and I was consistently having to fish around in the back of it to hook the chain up to the pump so that it would flush properly. For the amount of money they are charging this is an absolute joke. The last time I stayed in a hotel this old and run down was in Bulgaria (and there at least the bed was more comfortable).

As a first time visitor to Halifax, I really appreciated the assistance given by the staff in suggesting places to visit, and organising tours. After a 6 night stay, I began to feel I was part of the hotel family. Breakfast in the dining room was a treat each morning. Comfortable beds, large, spotlessly clean rooms made for a great stay.

The hotel was conveniently located near restaurants and shopping in Halifax, near the waterfront. The room was OK, but had an unpleasant odor. Stains on Carpet and broken countertop in bathroom made it seem shabby. It was not inexpensive, and for the price I would have expected a better experience.

This hotel was great for my business trip, as it was close to downtown for work and near the waterfront. This hotel had the best price, and the staff were very helpful.

Rather dark looking from the outside but very acceptable, average sized rooms. Priced right. Located next to the police station but this was not a factor. Checked out and left car in gurarded parking lot and bikes in hotel behind front desk till 6:00 PM for no extra cost. Staff was extremely helpful.

Good location. Right downtown, near everything. Room smelled funny, but decent. Older looking. Receptionist couldn't give directions - only concierge was knowledgeable.

When we checked in, we were given a room that smelled like a smoking room even though there was a sign that said it was a non-smoking room. We called the front desk and they agreed to change the room. They were very prompt and accommodating. However, the second room still smelled of smoke although not as strongly as the first. Other than that it was a perfectly fine hotel for the money. The staff was very friendly and helpful. However, we would not choose to stay there again because of the smoke smell that must be pretty pervasive.

The Bell Desk/Conciergerie was exceptionally helpful.
