Front desk and food/bar staff went out of their way to be helpful. Checking in is very easy. The valet parking is quick and efficient or there is paid parking across the street. there is easy access to the waterfront boardwalk and several great restaurants are 5 minutes away.

Rooms are a good size and are very clean. Would have liked room service after 11 pm as we arrived late in the evening. Overall a great place to stay near the harbour. Lots of great restaurants to choose from.

Perfect location to just leave the car and walk. Harbor view room roomy and clean. Parking is $22/day. Great restaurants very close by. The Citadel is easy walking distance as the public gardens. Maritime museum and Art Gallery of Nova Scotia just down the street. Nice place to stay.

This hotel is in a great location, within walking distance to all the attractions in the Historic Properties, the Maritime Museum, the Public Gardens and the Citadel. Just steps away from many good restaurants too. The hotel is very clean, quiet and has two rooftop terraces to enjoy great views and a breath of fresh air. The lobby / lounge / Bistro / bar area is well furnished and nice and quiet. The front desk staff is cheerful, polite and extremely helpful. The rooms are large and comfortably furnished as well. A great place to stay in downtown Halifax.

We decided on a quick trip to Halifax to explore and enjoy lobsters and the Courtyard Halifax was a clean and comfortable home to explore the city. The rooms were sizeable with comfortable beds and a large sitting area. The roof top deck was great to relax and get a great view of the waterfront and the city. There is an indoor heated pool and hot tub that we used once and was not too busy later in the evening. The connected restaurant has a great happy hour with specials for oysters and drinks. Easy walking distance to the waterfront and easy to walk around the city. The staff was friendly and helpful in providing recommendations for places to eat. There is only valet parking, which was very efficient as we never waited more than 5 minutes for our car. We'll be back!

Location Location Location! That is the best part of this hotel. Everything is at walk able distance. Museum, waterfront, historic places, restaurants and pubs. There is valet parking available for a fee and there is no complimentary breakfast. Most of the places closes by 9 so you need to pan your visit accordingly. For Marriott members, wi-fi is free of charge.

I stay at a lot of Marriott properties. I needed an extra night in Halifax due to travel scheduling... so I booked this room with member benefits -- which normally gives me a basic (aka less desirable) room. Not here! I was given a spacious, well-appointed suite, and experienced remarkably friendly service at every level. Just steps from the harbor, this lovely Courtyard is elegantly decorated-- with first-class hospitality. The Busker's Festival was getting underway, so the waterfront was extremely busy with family friendly activity. I enjoyed getting out and about-- with dozens of dining options in walking distance. After the hustle and bustle, it was nice to retreat to genuine smiles and a luxurious room. A very enjoyable stay.

We stayed at this Courtyard twice within a week. Both stays were excellent. The hotel is located a little over a block from the Maritime Museum, catty-corner from the Hopper (Halifax's motorized duck boat), next to the Alexander Keith Brewery, and in the middle of the waterside entertainment district. We walked everywhere, with the exception of the Citadel, which was uphill about 7 blocks, and worthy of a short cab ride). The hotel boasts a very fine patio on its 8th floor overlooking the harbor and a good pool with a smallish hot tub. Everything is new and in great shape.

Courtyard was ideal for our family visit to Halifax's historical sites. Not once did we take the bus or a cab, as all destinations were within easy walking distance. Hotel staff were great and features were optimal.

My wife and I used a reward certificate for a one-night stay, booking the reservation nine days prior to our visit. Afterwards we realized that the 30th Annual Halifax Pride Parade was scheduled for that same day, so we were quite surprised a room was available at all! We were driving in from outside of the city, and the hotel's location meant that we had to either circle around the outside of the city to avoid the parade (many downtown streets were closed beginning at noon) or arrive extra early. We used the Marriott app and checked in online the night before, requesting an early check-in. We received a reply almost immediately that they would do their best to accommodate us. We took a chance and left early, arriving at the hotel at 11:00AM. We were greeted by smiling and friendly staff who happily informed us that our room was ready! WOW! The room we had was 718; a very spacious room with a gorgeous view of Halifax Harbour! The room was well appointed, and the bed was very comfortable. We had asked for a couple of wine glasses, a plate, and some silverware for the room (we had some snacks with us) and these were promptly delivered by a very pleasant lady with a lovely smile. Following our evening activities downtown, we returned to the hotel and paid a visit to the 8th floor terrace. What a fabulous spot! Lots of plush, comfortable chairs and a commanding view of Halifax and the harbour. You can even order – and then enjoy - room service from there! For breakfast the next morning we ate at the Bistro. This is our second experience dining at a Marriott Bistro (the first was in Kingston, Ontario) and we both thoroughly enjoyed it. Great selection, Starbucks coffee, and fast service. We had taken advantage of the valet parking so, after our easy and pleasant check-out, we asked for the car to be brought around. We were quite surprised to find a bottle of water in the car that was NOT ours… until we saw the label: “Courtyard Marriott - To help you stay refreshed on your journey”. Thanks Marriott! We will be back, and we’ve already started telling our friends!
