This hotel was fantastic!!! Central location so we were in walking distance of everything! The staff were lovely, the rooms were large and nicely furnished. Morning breakfast was a nice surprise as well. I will definitely be back!
Stayed here for 3 nights in Jan and 2 nights a month ago. I had to return I enjoyed its location and helpful staff. You are within close proximity to The Bicycle Thief, Ristorante a Mano, a wine store, Halifax's harbour front, coffee shops and pubs. The hotel serves Starbucks coffee at its Bistro and there's a great terrace. We were very fortunate to have a room with the king sized bed that also had access to a private terrace on the 3rd floor. Clean and comfy rooms. We'll definitely be back. Valet parking was available which was so convenient for $25 daily. The Patagonia store is one minute away and so is Alexander Keith's Brewery.
My husband and I along with some of our friends all spent this past weekend at the Courtyard down town. We all enjoyed the down town location and the many restaurants and bars close by. The hotel is very modern and stylish. The front desk staff were very nice and accommodating. The pool is small but functional and the hot tub was great. We will definitely be returning to this hotel for our next visit to Halifax.
Visited the Courtyard Marriott in December 2017. Called and asked for an early check in and my request was granted with no issues. Check in was fast and easy. Parking is free on the weekend if you park across the street, if not you pay $22 for valet. The rooms are ok, nothing special. The bed was really comfortable, slept like a baby!! Location is great, near food, bars and shopping. Would recommend:)
I stayed here after staying at the Lord Nelson. What a difference! The rooms are well appointed, staff is great, the views are awesome from the roof top terrace! Central location, I've already recommended this hotel to other people.
Stayed for four nights, wanted a good downtown location, accessible to area restaurants, attractions, near the water! This place was clean, well=appointed rooms, spacious and very comfortable beds! Price was decent for downtown area! Loved the fact that it was so close to some of Halifax's better restaurants...CUT, Shuck, DaMaurizio's, Waterfront Warehouse, etc...
This is a very nice hotel in a great location for visiting Halifax. We were there during the first week of November. We lucked out and the weather was good - sunny and cool. We didn’t get a car - had no problems walking to a lot of great places to visit. The hotel has a guest laundry which was very nice and clean. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Although we didn’t use it, there is a great deck on the top of the hotel which provides a great view of the Halifax harbor. I highly recommend this location.
First trip to Nova Scotia and I loved the city with it's small town feel! Almost everyone knows everyone and most have lived there most of their lives. The city has several small Universities, a great variety of food options, and quaint waterfront area that runs almost the length of the city. The Courtyard Marriott sits a block from the waterfront and is much like any Courtyard property in that it has a smaller lobby area, fewer amenities/services (1 restaurant/bar and room service each with limited menus and hours), nice size sleeping rooms, and less "cushy" towels and bed linens, however, for the price they were just fine. Other of my colleagues stayed at more upscale/larger hotel properties that were older, much more shabby and in need of some repair. Flights are more limited and many that land after 9pm are late due to the higher elevation of the airport. I arrived at 2am and Nina, the night audit manager, was there to greet me. She was very pleasant and helpful at check-in and every time I saw her during my stay. A great asset to help offset such late arrivals! My room slept 4 with a king sized bed and pullout couch in the sitting area by the window. There was a coffee maker, a nice sized desk (with a second full sized roll-out surface below the first) for those in town on business, and all the regular toiletry type amenities you typically receive in the bathroom. There were fluffy pillows on the bed and an empty mini fridge for personal use. The one thing missing was an in-room safe. I’m sure there are safety deposit boxes at the front desk; however, in 2017 EVERY hotel room on earth should offer one. Our breakfast was included in the lobby restaurant where all the food was served at appropriate temperatures and had great flavor as well. There were basics like cereal, yogurt, and fruit as well as full meal items such as breakfast sandwiches, French toast, and eggs served with meat, potatoes and toast. Starbucks brand coffee and DeVaan teas were served as well. The waterfront and nearby city streets are filled with great restaurant choices & fun bars (some open until 3 or 4am). There's also plenty of shopping for things like maple syrup and Patagonia winter wear. We had great meals at a Thai restaurant, a trendy pizza place and a delicious Italian eatery. I will review those separately. The great location, friendly service, and adequate hotel amenities made my stay at the Courtyard Halifax Downtown very pleasant and I would definitely stay there again on future trips!
The hotel overall is very nice - great location, service very very good - BUT the computers in the business lounge area were so out dated that gmail would not open! I couldn’t open my work webmail either - as a note popped up on the computers telling me that the browser won’t support the websites I am visiting. One would think that a Courtyard Marriott would have professional up to date technology for their customers, but clearly this is an oversight. I also was woken up at 3am by the alarm clock in the room. I guess it had been set by the last person who stayed and wasn’t ever fully turned off. Note to self for any future hotel visits, i will check the alarm to make sure it is NOT set for 3am! But maybe the hotel can add this to their list of things to think about so that the customer doesn’t have to worry about stuff like this when they come in late and just want to rest. I will definitely stay at this Marriott again but I won’t if I am in Halifax for work.
Stayed here for work and it was a very comfortable place to stay. The front desk staff are always friendly and helpful. The location is excellent as it is just a block from the waterfront and located close to most of Halifax's restaurants. Valet parking is awesome.
