This is a fantastic hotel right in the heart of Halifax. Stay here, you'll enjoy it! We stayed three nights and loved every minute. We splurged and got one of two top floor rooms with a private deck/balcony. It was great having our morning coffee and evening cocktails on our private deck/balcony. But even if you can't snag one of those rooms, there is a large deck/balcony on the top floor open to all hotel guests. It overlooks the Halifax waterfront. Service was extremely helpful and responsive to requests. The front desk staff were friendly, cheerful and helpful. The Bistro even delivers drinks to the top floor deck! The location is perfect and within walking distance of The Citadel, the waterfront boardwalk, restaurants, museums and nightlife. You'll be happy you stayed here, I promise.
Stayed one night here. Very lovely hotel downtown Halifax very close to many historical sites all within walking distance. Valet parking. Waterfront a mere minutes by foot. Many shops and restaurants in the area. Great location. Room was perfect. Had a great view as well. Staff was awesome friendly and genuinely nice. Great view of harbor from the top floor outside terrace. Tables and chairs provided but need to take a drink with you to enjoy the view. Bed was so comfy. No complaints whatsoever. Will definitely stay here again. Thanks to all for wonderful stay.
Our stay at the Courtyard was simply perfect. Great location right at the waterfront, views on the bay, big, clean, comfortable room. Service was simply outstanding. Not only the friendliness and courtesy of all staff, but also prompt service. As Marriott Rewards member we got a personal handwritten message upon our arrival with vouchers for two free drinks, and complimentary parking. I never felt treated as well in bigger, more upscale hotels.
Had a lovely time staying at this hotel. The staff are incredibly helpful and cheerful. Room was large, clean, and the bed was super comfy. Note: There is no in room safe but you can store items in the safe at the front desk. Our room attendant was wonderful. She provided additional kleenex and body lotion when asked. It seemed nothing was too much trouble. We were in room 518 and had a lovely view of the waterfront. Interestingly enough although there was noise outside (ribfest along with a concert across the street!) we had no trouble sleeping at all. The hotel has a pool (water is a bit cold) and a hot tub. There is an exercise room and onsite laundry. In walking distance of the boardwalk and most of the downtown activities - although it is a steep incline to get to downtown. There is valet parking and they even included a bottle of water for our trip back to the airport.
We had a great experience at the Courtyard. After walking around town we realized that this hotel had the best overall location. I don't normally like valet parking but I liked dropping my keys off at the desk upon arrival and then getting my car back within minutes with a call from the room. No waiting outside for the valet or tipping. The rooftop terrace is excellent as are the views. Our room was on the side of the hotel (not the harbor end) but it appears that just about every room would have a great water view like our room did. The room was a nice size, clean and everyone was nice.
We stayed four nights at the Courtyard Halifax Downtown. The staff are very pleasant welcoming and happy to help in any manner to keep your stay pleasant. The rooms are accommodating and clean. The 8th floor patio overlooks the harbour and is a great place to have a relaxing beverage of your choice. They now have bar service to the rooftop. It is very close to walking to the casino and to other harbour related activities. Several wonderful restaurants within walking distance to the peer. Most food huts and pier activities only open the last week of June or the first of July. Nice to see the cruise ship in and the area busy with tourists. We will stay at the hotel again when we return.
Have stayed at this Marriot several times in the past and recently just a few weeks past. Of all the Marriot brand in Halifax, 3 within 2km of each other, this one is by far has the best location with a view and quieter of them all. No free breakfast at this location but they do offer hot breakfast at a decent price and very delicious. The boardwalk is located across the street and leads to amazing restaurants all within 1km of the hotel. The Halifax market is at the end of the boardwalk and could enjoy amazing coffee selection and a must is breakfast pizza. They offer valet parking and I would recommend taking this as you don't have to find it yourself. The rooms are clean and very modern looking, only thing was the mattress was somewhat harder then we expected but overall the hotel is perfect for those who want to just park and walk the downtown. They also offer a rooftop patio and its a great place to enjoy the summer days with a drink. Highly recommended.
A perfect location overlooking nearby waterfront; ideal access to scenic boardwalk and near excellent restaurants (and bakeries for morning treats!).Really nice rooms. We took their 'cars eat free' offer (includes valet parking and $25.CAD gas card daily) and 'topped off' twice en route back to USA. We'd stay here again for sure.
I was in Halifax for business, the 1st week of June. It was a very nice stay. The Staff is amassing from Melanie in sales to Katie front desk supervisor and the always with a big smile Jill the food and bar manager..
We stayed at this property for three nights and found it to be ideally located for exploring the city (especially the waterfront). It is conveniently located within walking distance of the train station, which we took advantage of. The property itself is spacious and well kept up, with lots of convenient amenities including a bar/snack bar, store, and many quality restaurants within a short walking distance. Our room was spacious and comfortable. Service was very helpful -- especially at the front desk who not only made good restaurant invitations but also arranged a private driver to tour us around the area, since we were there before most tour companies had started business for the year. We would definitely return to this hotel.
