Very nice hotel, updated. Breakfast is decent and efficient. No restaurant for dinner, however the Donair place next door is very good. Everything you need is right there! I would absolutely stay there on my next trip.

Stayed for one night. Hotel is very nice, staff very friendly. Room was clean and spacious, included fridge and microwave. Lots of parking and shopping/restaurants and fuel within minutes, great location. It does have a indoor pool but we found it smelt a little dirty. Great breakfast as well. I paid a discount price for our stay, think I would try elsewhere at its regular $200+/N.

Stayed here for a couple days last week while i visited my son. I read the other reviews and based on them I booked this hotel. They were accurate and helpful . Hotel is a 20 min easy ride to the airport and 15 min to downtown and right off the highway. Room was modern, clean and bed very comfortable. Bathroom was super clean and updated and relatively modern for this type of hotel. Breakfast is included but a Cora restaurant 3 min away. For this type of hotel i was impressed and would go back.

We stayed here for four days at the beginning of our trip and found it to be an excellent property, so that we stayed at the end of our trip for an additional two days. The continental breakfast was very good and the indoor pool was a nice touch to relax in as well.

The Good: Lots of parking. The room was very nice, I could tell that they had done renovations fairly recently. The staff at the front desk were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast bar was nice, with lots of variety of food. The bed was very comfortable! I had a hard time getting out of it. The location was good too; right off the highway and only about 10 minutes away from downtown Halifax. Could be Better: One of the outlets in my room did not work. The lining of the pool was starting to ripple, which I thought was odd. I passed by some of the housekeeping staff at 8:30 am (which I thought was early, so I had to put on my do not disturb card while I was still in the room before checkout) and none of them greeted me or even just passed with a smile.

We stayed here for 1 night in October. The room and breakfast were ok but what was irritating was when I found a dead spider on my bed in the morning.I asked the receptionist for the manager and she gave me his business card.I called and there was no answer. I left a message on his voice mail Still no return call. I sent an email and it was returned. That service is totally unacceptable.

Ample parking, clean rooms, and full breakfast included. Easy access off Highway 102, good for Bayers Lake business area. A 3-4 night stay worked well as a business hub, clean and efficient. Will return when given the chance. Good value stay.

First the good: the hotel which was once the CN railway hotel of Halifax is in the process of being refurbished. We were give an upgrade and had a cozy, comfortable room with a view of the beautiful Halifax harbour and the cruise ships which came into town for the day. The room was very clean and had a great king-sized bed. My only quibble about the room was that the bathtub lacked a safety bar or a sturdy bathmat and could be for any senior, quite tricky. Now the bad: the food was tasty enough but I have gluten allergies and there really were not a lot of options for. I had to really think about what to order and really there wasn't a lot of variety available. Plus the dining room was closed on Sunday night of the long weekend so we were forced to eat once again in the lobby bar. Now the building is very close to the Historic Properties area of the city where there are lots of restaurants and bars but I was attending a wedding and meeting family and frankly didn't have much timeor energy to be searching for places to eat. Also there was no minibar in the room and the only way you could get a snack was by phoning room service for a chocolate bar which seemed wierd to me. However, there is a Superstore nearby so next time, I would stock up there. I hope I am not being too negative but when you are pressed for time, the last thing you want to think about is what --and when-- you can and can't eat. Be aware that the area near the Superstore is a tad sketchy so daytime trips are recommended.

Everything was seamless from check in to check out. Not a far drive to the waterfront. The breakfast was of good quality and tasty. The rooms were spacious and nice to have two club chairs in a room. I would stay here again without any hesitation.

Although in the greater Halifax area outside the hustle and bustle of the city, we found the location of Chateau Bedford to be ideal for those who like to explore the area as it was on the highway and avoided congestion. The room was modern, spacious and clean, and the hot buffet breakfast gave us a good start to the day. Service and staff were wonderful as well throughout the stay. We received higher status from collecting points on a popular travel site (Exp…..) which gave us $10 in credits towards buying snacks and treats at the front desk and late check out (which we didn’t take them up on due to an early morning leave). We did find these perks to be very nice. Please indicate if you found this review to be helpful as it will help me focus my future efforts. Enjoy your trip!
