Booked through Black Friday/cyber Monday deal which allowed me to stay a few extra nights to visit family while up for a doctors appointment. Everything was beautiful and hotel is in the perfect location. Would like to see parking a little cheaper as it added up quickly for 3 nights. I will certainly keep my eyes opened for future promotions in hopes to stay again for my next appointment in the spring!
Too many parties that went TIL around 1:00 AM. Room was not as clean as our previous stay on December 22. Ran out of Kleenex after using just 3 sheets. I doubt we will ever stay here again, at least not on a Friday!
Best place to end up if your power goes out. Staff always friendly and makes you forget about the weather outside! Gio, although closed for a few days is the best hotel restaurant in the city and top three restaurants overall.
Have stayed here before and will continue to promote this outstanding hotel in downtown Halifax. Connected to the link ( a big plus in bad weather) and located close to everything...an easy walk to restaurants and entertainment. Service is excellent and hotel property is superb.
Had an excellent stay at the Prince George. Friendly staff, excellent retaurant and great location. It is our favourite place to stay in Halifax. Even with a couple of small bumps our last stay, it was excellent. The staff handled it superbly.
We've had a couple visits to this hotel in 2017 and were impressed with each visit with the staff's high level of service and our experience on the "Club floor" in one of the hotel suites. There is a terrific soaker tub in one of the two bathrooms. The only drawback was the height of the king size bed. It made it difficult to get into / out of bed.
First impression was great - very helpful staff, clean spacious rooms, pool/spa/gym clean, central location (in fact attached to the underground link, ideal considering the time of year). But... we were hit by a major storm, lost power (for what turned out to be a short time, we were lucky) - NO information or support from staff, generator for basic needs only, when questions were asked about when power might be restored - as no info was forthcoming), we were cheerfully told “should be about a week”. This made for an anxiety-filled evening. Everything was closed - would have been nice to have been offered food, beverages... but mostly some inkling that steps were being taken to make sure our needs would be met in a crisis.
I stay here regularly for an ongoing business event -- so I am not paying the bill directly. The rooms are well appointed, however, I am always disappointed, because I prefer a bathtub, and the renovations seem to have removed all the tubs and replaced them with showers only. When I have stayed in the summer and early fall, the rooms were unbearably warm, and in December, the meeting room we were in was way too cold, and difficult to warm up. Staff are pleasant and professional, but I have had a couple of situations where despite having made a reservation well in advance, I was not permitted to check in until after 3 pm. I know it's their policy, it's just annoying that at 2:45, they can't find you a room, especially when you're a regular guest. The stand-alone parking rate is $32 per day, which is simply outrageous and out of touch. The restaurant and food are very good and the lobby area is inviting.
the room was clean. location was good and close to most things. the staff were very pleasant and helpful. the room was warm and beds were comfortable. Although having a microwave in the room would have been useful
My boyfriend and I stayed here on New Years Eve and again on New years Day, neither of us had stayed here before and we are very happy we ended up choosing the Prince George! We requested adjoining rooms with another couple we were spending NYE with and the Prince George was very accommodating of this, we were able to get two adjoining hotel rooms (each with a king sized bed!) and the rooms had nice views as well. The hotel told us they wouldn't be investigating noise complaints until after midnight since it was New Years Eve, which was a relief as we had a few friends over to celebrate. The rooms were modern looking and the beds were huge with very comfortable pillows. The bathrooms were very nice as well. We ended up ordering room service on New Years Day and the food was fast and delicious! the staff were very friendly as well. The only complaint I have is that the parking was kind of complicated. I don't know if this is a regular occurrence, or only because we were staying during NYE and it was very busy. Two separate times when we tried to leave the parking garage we had problems exiting. The first time we tried to leave it said our ticket wasn't validated, even though we had already paid for parking upon checking in. The second time, our ticket said expired when we had paid for two days of parking. However, when we pressed the "help" button staff were more than happy to open the gate for us and told us to come see them at the front desk for help. I will definitely be staying at the Prince George again the next time I am looking for accommodations in Halifax.
