Stayed here 2 nights on a recent business trip. Location was irrelevant as I only commuted between the hotel and SEC on pre-arranged transport. The room was very basic and needed doing up. The carpets had stains, the paintwork needs touching up. The old hairdryer needs to be replaced with a proper ‘stand alone’ hairdryer that has some power. The iron and ironing board were appreciated as was the kettle. The bed was comfy enough and the shower was good. The lighting in the room needs to be re-designed. Very dark.....Breakfast buffet was enough for me as I don’t eat such a big breakfast. It had all the expected hot items plus bread, pastries, yogurt, cheese, ham, cereal etc. Very friendly service.
The hotel is lovely, the best customer service I’ve had in a while. All staff are friendly and helpful. Our room wasn’t fancy but just okay. There is no fridge or mini bar and they don’t supply bottled water like other AccorHotels I’ve been too. I’m a club member, I was a bit disappointed when I didn’t get a welcome drink or offer to upgrade. The facilities were great, at ground level the bar is also amazing with great food. Loved their menus. The kids area is also another win. Just wish they could time it so other kids don’t spend hours while others wait for longer. Had to mention your lovely staff member at breakfast Tanya, always smiling and great personality. Another lovely person who went the extra mile is Emile. Great job xxx
Good location with many shops and restaurants within 5-10 minutes walk. Staff are friendly and efficient. On site paid parking is available but limited to about 20 cars (first come, first served) - £8 each free you leave the hotel by car. There is no daily parking rate. Reasonably priced - recommended.
I work and stay in Glasgow regularly, at least once a month and this is my preferred hotel. The staff at the hotel are fantastic, friendly and always very accommodating. The hotel has everything you need, great facilities and excels in all the areas you want it too but maybe don’t think about when booking. Parking is £7-8 and you only pay for this when exiting so with been in Glasgow city centre is probably your full length of your stay. This price is a treat within itself however it is very secure and the lift comes directly to the car park meaning no lugging cases about which is another added bonus The hotel lobby bar is modern and relaxing and always has a nice atmosphere. The drinks are reasonably price and service is great. The lobby is all open plan but quite cleverly it feels separated with Xbox and games table for children, a tv which has sports on and a sofa are if you just want to relax. Tables with phone chargers is another small addition but all of the above can be overlooked. The gym is small but efficient with a small sauna and steam room and the views from the gym across the city is fantastic. Some rooms are slightly dated but very very spacious and comfortable. bathrooms are modern but separate toilet which is great if you have a family. Overall I can’t fault the hotel and as above is my preference when staying in Glasgow.
Stayed for 1 night with friends. Very clean room although quite basic. Don't think I would class it as a 4 star. Separate toilet which is fine but it is tiny and no sink there to wash your hands. Breakfast was excellent and staff very friendly. Would probably stay here again if price were right.
Beds are really comfy and bathroom good with a good shower. Staff were excellent and the bar and restaurant really professional! Only problem we had was the room was just too hot. The window only opened about an inch and it just left us with an uncomfortable night. That is my only problem with this hotel as it is really good value for money X
Bar area really nice and staff brilliant - couldn't fault them. Wine ridiculously over priced at £12 a glass. We were upgraded for free to a superior room and they'd already made up the sofa bed for our daughter which was helpful. I'm not sure what was superior however about the room as we had booked a room for three and this was as small as it could be so not sure what a standard room would be like? The toilet was separate from the bathroom which was a great idea for a sharing family but the toilet room so small you couldn't actually get in it and shut the door at the same time!! It led to some interesting conversations through the night! The location is okay for central city - the evening we took taxis into town at less than a fiver each way and the next morning we took a fifteen/twenty min walk in. We didnt have the breakfast at £13 a head for a continental breakfast we decided to try out other places and had great fun exploring. Overall comfortable, clean room which we had a pleasant stay in.
My husband and I like Novotel hotels, and have stayed in other European areas, as they are comfortable, well priced and good value for money. This visit was particularly good, as it was for my husband's 50th birthday. We arrived late, and were very happy to see that we had been upgraded to an executive room, and had been left a bottle of prosecco on ice, and birthday wishes printed on a large piece of paper. The room was very comfortable, with their being a pod coffee maker, as well as a kettle. Bath/shower room, separate toilet and dressing gowns/ slippers, iPod docking as well as the usual TV. The breakfast was very tasty and a high standard, and staff available if needed. Although it would be better if you could access your own hot drinks. The only downside was the parking, which is under the hotel and difficult to access and expensive if you are planning to use your car daily at £8. (Although you could leave it there for the duration of you desired for less of a fee.) However it is difficult to park in Glasgow at the best of times. The hotel had said that there was a charge machine with which to charge our electric car, however there seemed to be some confusion on getting this to function, and the communication in this area had been incorrectly given with regards to which type of charger was available. All in all a very enjoyable experience, thanks to the extras we received. Hopefully will be back in the future.
Originally had booked in at the Abode Hotel on Bath Street, however, due to a huge fire near by their water supply had been turned off and so came to the Novotel very last minute. The rooms are very basic and need some modernisation. They are also incredibly noisy due to people thinking it’s acceptable to race round the back roads late at night. Stayed here for 3 nights and I haven’t had a proper nights sleep - can’t wait to get home. Every time we went out for the day and came back to the room our key wouldn’t work and so had to go down to reception for them to reset the key. This happened 3 times!!!! Breakfast is standard buffet type and so can’t really complain, but as a whole I wouldn’t recommend this hotel unless you stay for 1 night only.
Stayed here for a mini break before going abroad on holidays, found the room to be noisy and a bit of TLC required to be honest got not a bad deal but definitely not worth the full price they ask,we seemingly got a free upgrade when we arrived but was not very impressed room cooler or fridge was not working properly reported but was told it was fine drinks we had in it was warm not chilled carpet stained, and other decor a bit tired. On rthe upside location is perfect plenty to do close by ,shopping, bars, restaurants. Reported complaints but still awaiting a final answer from the general manager.
