We really enjoyed this hotel. It was close to everything and we didn't get into a car the whole time we were there. Restaurants, bars, entertainment, and excursions were all within easy walking distance. The pools at the hotel were very quiet and the property was very clean. The service was great and all of the staff was helpful and pleasant.

We had a great room with a beautiful bay view. The balcony was large and private, and the room was so quiet. No noise from children, neighbors or pool activity. Perfect for relaxation!

I don't know how this hotel rates 4 stars. It is not a 4 star hotel. The rooms are old and are actually rusting! The plumbing in the bathroom is corroding and the fiberglass shower/tub was sloppily installed leaving a crumbling drywall seam around the top. The tile flooring looked filthy and the grout was badly stained. The room had a fridge that wouldn't close well and the humidity created condensation that ran out onto the floor. The light fixtures are made of painted steel and are rusting. Ditto with the door. The sliding balcony door required a piece of PVC pipe as a lock or block from opening. The railing on the balcony had rotted and was recently repaired with a combination of new unpainted wood and salvageable wood. The staff at this hotel is wonderful though, as are most of the Bahamian people. The location is at the far end of Port Lucaya and that's right where you want to be. Port Lucaya has all of the touristy vendor stalls as well as duty free shopping and restaurants. A free water taxi can take you to the Taino Beach, which is one of the best beaches on the island. If you scuba dive, underwater explorers is right next door. The irony is that I chose this hotel based on the 4 star rating but I could have chosen an actual 4 star hotel nearby for only slightly more money. I would urge *rbitz to change this rating immediately.

Stayed in the king suite, really nice, relaxing. & inviting. The daily pastry & fruit delivery and the espresso machine was an added plus,. Close proximity to nearby shopping, entertainment & restaurants. Quiet & relaxing, exactly what I wanted. The only downfall, the lighting in the room was extremely dim, could be a lot brighter..

The hotel was comfortable, except that the air conditioner was to loud making it hard to sleep. The staff was not very friendly or helpful.

What a delightful place to stay! The beautiful, charming colorful building were reminiscent of a village. The suite rooms were large and open, with plenty of light from the balcony. There were several pool options, though some were closed due to the lower number of guest at this time of year. The staff was wonderfully attentive, especially the bar staff and the young woman at the breakfast bar in the morning. Being so close to the marketplace allowed you to wonder, yet the noise wasn't a disturbance. Lastly the views of the marina and the bay were spectacular! I'd go back right now if I could.

No Lap Pool or fitness room as shown in photos. There excuse is it is available next door at anther resort for an additional fee

There were a few things that needed attention (broken pool umbrellas, unpainted exterior trim) but all in all it was nice, clean, felt safe, food and drinks @ restaurant were delicious, its in a great location and the staff was very friendly and informative!

The water taxi is what made all the difference. We are beach people and this was a quick fun way to get there. Also loved the comfey chairs at the pools.

Stayed for a week and had a great, relaxing time. The hotel is conveniently located near the Port Lucaya Marketplace which offers lots of shopping, restaurants and other activities. The hotel is very nice and offers just enough on property but not so much that you don't want to leave. It allows you to go out and experience the island - including a short ferry boat ride to Taino Beach. The room was adequate nothing too special. The only thing that would have been nice is a free continental breakfast. They offered a buffet breakfast but charges $19/person which seemed high. Other than that I would definitely recommend staying at Pelican Bay.

This hotel has a good and convenient location. It is tired and urgently needs to be freshened with paint, upgrade in fixtures, and lighting. I sense that it has taken a serious hit with the economy and as a result maintenance has been cut back. The location is very convenient within an easy walk to the market and restaurants. I would not go back in its current condition.

It is definitely a resort hotel...Not normal configuration. Aging to a large extent, but well kept for the most part.... Very good poolside bar and restaurant, but lacking nearly all other major services, such as even a gift shop or sundry shop. There are others close by, but require walking. The Flying Fish, adjacent to Pelican Bay was one of the highest quality restaurants for food and knowedge and service, anywhere in the Caribean. Rivals good Vegas restaurants... Beach walk too far and disapointing... But was a pleasant stay, although a little cool. Staff very friendly but on "Island Time"...

A great hotel , 3 pools , a nice bar and resturant,, and the front desk staff is the Best., across the street from the beach but with a private ferry to bring you to a great beach and other hotel pool., we will go back. ty

I had been at this hotel in 2009 and really liked it. So I wanted to show my husband, and we came here to dive with UNEXSO for 4 days. The location is as great as can be for that purpose. Our first room had serious maintenance issues (fixtures, door, toilet), and we got it swapped for a slightly better one, but none of what I enjoyed in 2009 for similar pricing in a state room. The breakfast was $19 per person extra (and not worth this much, and she fed a bunch of her friends it seemed like) and we never were offered a state room or other upgrade. Our room was given to another couple that moved out, too, and moved to a state room - perhaps they felt coerced to pay for an upgrade. Our second room also developed maintenance issues, that were addressed, but nothing else, and no apologies. In 2009 they made sure to ask guests about how they liked it, not now. In the lobby one has to wait a long time before someone attends to them. The candy machine did not work, the bar/restaurant staff was slow and not too helpful. Some were even rude. The elevator made noises and motions that made one wonder if you get stuck, or when. The tiled floor in the room had not been mopped in a very long time, giving us black soles after taking a shower, or alternatively blackened socks. One bottle of water gratis? The 2009 room was my first nespresso encounter, and now I own one. Does that tell anything? In this room we had an el cheapo drip coffee maker that produced less than average coffee. We think this is a management problem (lack of) and hope that if/when we decide to travel here another time, will be fixed. We heard that they may have new owners, possibly investors that are hands-off. Well, it does not work. Get better, please!

Beautiful hotel, awesome food and perfectly located!

Some of the staff wasn't friendly, especially the female manager. Internetnis not free. For similar piece, I would have stayed at the rassison, plus raddisson has free wireless

The staff were extremely kind and always polite. The room was homey and the restaurant , el sabor, downstairs was great. Not to mention the extremely beautiful view from each room.

I truly enjoyed my stay at Pelican Bay hotel. The employees were kind and friendly.

The hotel property, pools, restaurant etc was excellent. The room needed some attention, the mattress you could feel the springs through it. Bathroom fixtures were old and corroded. I have stayed at this property before and have always enjoyed it, I hope they update the rooms soon. I would still recomend this property, the staff here is as friendly, courteous and hard working as you will find in any hotel on the island.

A nice place for a family vacation. Three swimmingpools, free ferry to beautiful beach and other swimmingpools at nearby hotel. Good service at the front desk. Close to shops, restaurants and golf links. Nearby possibility for dolphin encounters.
