Nice clean hostel with a simple private room. It was a little small, but very clean and comfortable with ensuite bathroom. The kitchen was small but had the essentials. The staff was nice and helpful. The social atmosphere was just ok, but there were a bar and plenty of lobby games and hangout areas. Not far from a tram stop that goes into the city.
First: I arrived there and nobody told me about a safebox that they have in the reception. The place meets what it says, as you can see on some good reviews on the internet. However, when it comes to help you in difficult situations, they don't seem to care to help you out. On my second night there, when I've just come back from a city tour, I realized that someone manage to reach my bag that was inside a padlocked cage under my bed and stole 800 euros. I tried to call the police but nobody speaks english over there, so I asked for help to contact them, which they didn't for the sake of the "image" of the hostel, they didn't want to bring that kind of attention to the place. I decided to go to the police station myself, without sucess, because it was closed, so I simply asked them to translate briefly the situation in the police call, that request was also refused, as well as any kind of records of whom might have entered the room. That being said, I would not recommend this hostel to anyone, specially if you are a international guest.
A nice, simple and friendly place to stay. Rooms are bare bones but very tidy. The kitchen was the worst part, full of flies and smelly. The 30min walk into town along the river was lovely. Staff spoke English and we're very helpful.
Hotel located 15min’s walk from the Frankfurt OST station, easily accessible by tram number 11, 2 stops away and the tram ticket for this route is covered by the German Rail Pass. The young service staff were attentive, energetic and friendly despite the check in crowd. Love the reception area with the colourful sofas and children’s play area which is simple but exudes a cheerful, modern vibes. Breakfast, at €7 per pax, has a good spread. I used a family room with 2 single beds plus a double decker. Room and bathroom was clean. Layout of room is cleverly and thoughtfully designed to optimise space and user convenience. For example, each bed comes with 2 power sockets, so important nowadays for charging phones and power banks. The side or headboard of each bed comes with a full length holder for items like toiletries bag and phones. The other end of each bed also has rails for hanging. The room, however, got too warm and stuffy in the night, even though the heater was turned off and the window opened. No air conditioning to cool the room so it might be less comfortable in the coming summer months. Overall, it was a good experience, value for money for the basics well covered and the convenient location.
The room has enough space for 2, plenty of light and sunlight comes from the window in 443 apartment. The shower is ok and they gave you shower gel and clean towels included in the price. The reception is OK, some guys do not speak a good english but they make them understadable. We didn't have breakfast since at 10am, it hadnt enough. Must pay 7 euro for them if not included in your room rate. A little far from historic center if walking but there is a tram running to there since 4h30 in the morning, in case you need to be at the airport to the very 1st flight. I would recommend it.
Stayed here for one night with husband and two teenagers. Easily found with the sat nav and parking available directly outside. Check in was slow as only one member of staff around, doing both check in and the bar!!! Room was nice, clean and good space for the 4 of us! Even the teenagers liked the bunk beds! Although none of the lights or USB ports worked round the bunk beds! We opted to cook ourselves using the “guest kitchen” as the que for the snack bar in the hotel was horrendous, as staff were very thin on the ground! There is a Lidl a few doors away so purchased some food and beers and sat in the kitchen area, which is a great idea and much nicer than having to find somewhere to eat after a day travelling! There is a hob, microwave and untensils provided for guests to use! We paid extra for breakfast the next day and this was good, plenty of choice of food - however no juice at all! The Machine was empty and despite several people asking, staff just kept saying someone was coming - during our 1/2 hour in there - no one came to it! Overall a good, clean basic hotel!
I staye there in December 2018 with my friends for a few days. Booked hotel via booking.com. Hotel is very nice, price is reasonable and location was really good. We left hotel very satisfied. But problems started later. 15 days after our departure I received message from my bank that hotel wants to charge me money for that stay in December. I had not enough money on my credit card so transaction didn't pass. But the thing is that I payed for the room on the arrival by cash money and the receptionist didn't give me any recipt and I didn't pay attantion to that as I don't collect recipts. Which was my mistake as I understood later. So I contacted customer support of a&o hotels' via whatsapp and they said that in their system mentioned that I didn't pay for my room. I explained the situation and asked them to check cameras or ask that receptionist how that sityation happened as I can't provide them receit as confirmation of payment. So I was in contact with customer support for a few weeks (everything happened few days before Christmas), that's why it took so much time. In the end they didn't help me to solve that problem. They couldn't explain why they let me leave hotel without payment and if I didn't pay why they didn't charge me when I was in their hotel, but did that 15 days after I left. I contacted booking.com to help me solve that, they called to the hotel, wrote them letters and it didn't help also. So I just gave up on that and blocked my credit card. I think it wasn't very nice from the hotel to act this way to their client, they made me nervius a lot becuase of that situation during all Christmas festivals, I had to spend my time on making new credit card and spend money on international calls. It's a pity that such a nice hotel has such a bad attitude to their clients.
I stayed there for two nights in a single room. Some time between the first night and the second night some one went in to my room and took all my wash things. To me it obviously looked like house keeping had been in and emptied my room. However reception were adamant that no one had been in my room and it was my mistake. I am in hte process of reporting this to the police.
If you need a non-expensive, clean, basic place to stay in a central location in an expensive town, this is it. There are many rooms, they are small but have everything needed. The hotel is located at the busy Hanauer Landstrasse but due to its design and presumably sound-proof windows it was quiet at night. The beds are very hard but after one night we got used to it. The place has a hostel-like feel with a small kitchen plus fridge, a play area for children, a bar and plenty of common seating in the lobby. The lobby was busy until midnight, depending on the day of the week you'd see see lots of asian tourists or crews of traveling workers, truck drivers etc. The breakfast (for 7 Euro) is basic and the coffee is horrible but again it's sufficient and good value for the money. Getting service at the reception might take a while since there seems to be only one or at most two people working. Infrastructure is good, there is a super market in short walking distance and the tram #11 goes every 10 minutes just in front of the hotel, takes 22 min to the main railway station.
Stayed 2 nights. We took a train to Frankfurt Main Train Station from the airport then transferred to a taxi as it was getting late. We go found out that tram 11 which is right outside the hotel take us to the city centre as well as the main train station too. It a little far if you are arriving late or a bit of a hassle if you have a lot of luggage. The room was comfortable and clean. I don't quite understand why they only make 2 out of the 3 beds I booked. I liked the utilitarian bathroom and the water pressure was good. We enjoyed the breakfast. The spread was reasonable. There is also a shared kitchen if you wish to cook. We cooked one dinner and one breakfast and found it too much of a squeeze. It would be much better if the eating area is situated somewhere outside the kitchen. And as usual there were people who just don't know how to clean up after themselves so it could get grubby. Overall a good experience and I would be happy to stay again.
