I loved all the amenities, the only thing was the plumbing wasn’t all that great. Other than that awesome place.

My family has stayed here a number if times over the last 30 years. The upgrades are refreshing. Some of the old friendly staff is still working here.

We loved this property snd all the things tomso around it. We did find the breakfast was to pricey for the little that was offered.

Everyone at property was lovey all staff always had a smile on there face and would always speak to you with a great smile. The check in and check out staff front desk truly lovely! I also have a child with an allergy and they went above and beyond to make sure she was taken care of at the restaurant! We had one little problem with AC leaking and they were right on top! Just all around the friendliest and kind people and really take care of vacationers, would definitively return!

Staff at the front desk got us checked in right away which was great and the lobby got our family pretty excited but the rooms aren’t the greatest for what we paid.

The renovation of the resort is fantastic. As always the staff was great. Our beach view room was clean and comfortable with a super view of the gulf. The beach is amazing.

Old and dirty, the rooms are so small , the staffs are nice

It is an amazing unique destination, has something for everyone. Unfortunately they were doing renovation of rooms when we were there, had we gone a month later it would have gotten the highest marks. Rooms were a bit outdated but renovation was bringing it to a modern feel.

What a mix of experiences here. FIRST AND FOREMOST - there are NO ELEVATORS in some of the multi-floor buildings. Truly hard to believe in today's hotel experiences but be forewarned. The staff is nice but young, inexperienced and as a result, they don't think things through when it comes to accommodating the guest. So, they (originally) put me in a two story building, on the 2nd floor, with no elevators AND it is undergoing renovations. As a result, the parking lot adjacent to it is closed. Completely. Yet, when I finally thought to ask, they had a ground floor room, right behind the front reception area that was available, same price, all along. Its a touristy beach property. It's a good facility, could use some work. Rooms are a tile floor and should you walk barefoot on it, you're going to want to wash your feet before getting in bed or putting on socks or shoes. They've got those little black bugs flying around in the rooms. Probably some better pest services could fix it. It does seem to be a family friendly facility and is in a good location. There are several pools and if you want to do laps, true lap swimming, they're plenty long enough to do so. (Be warned, in May, they're not heating them as they say it's not summer, and and at least the large one I was in is cold ... well under 80 degrees.

I like the renovations/ upgrades to the property lobby and exterior. Nice new deck added to pool area, and fire pit was a nice addition. Love the tiki bar by the beach and live entertainment. Bathrooms in the hotel rooms definitely need attention and renovating.

Rooms are a bit dated but the overall facility is nice. Only issue was the really loud music at the Crabtrap next door until about 3:30am that kept us awake. I hope you can negotiate with Emerald Coast volleyball next year so everyone has a more enjoyable stay.

under construction, was not told it was , very pricey

hotel consistently checked in walk-ins while telling all confirmed prepaid guests that their rooms were not available. They did not acknowledge that I had selected our room with breakfast bar included, told me that booking.com must have made a mistake. The room was basically a super 8 motel room with dastardly dirty shower, toilet and the towel rack was already on the floor when we got there. We waited over three hours for check in. I will never go back ever.

The hotel location cannot be beat. We had a King room on the 2nd floor with a balcony facing the Gulf. The beach was just steps away and we loved listening to the waves at night. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The Staff were all friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great, but the lunch and dinner menu were limited as the kitchen is being remodeled. There are lots of restaurants within walking distance though. The construction and remodeling was a bit loud during the day, which didn't bother us because we were outside most of the time, but would probably disturb families with small children who need to nap. There are several pools to choose from and one is heated. We loved the oceanside bar and the availability of lounge chairs and beach umbrellas. We enjoyed our stay very much!

The grounds and location are nice. The room was ok, but the bathroom wasn't the greatest. You can tell its old, but it wasn't the cleanest.

The pictures aren’t based on what’s available. They only show you the beach front view rooms and not the rest of the site. If you are going to book here I’d suggest beachfront or elsewhere. We had booked a king room and were given a two queen so when we called the front desk the staff quickly got us into the right room but if it hadn’t been for that I would have canceled and found elsewhere due to the overall state of the room. If you’re a college kid it’s great for the price.

The Island by RL is at a great location and the pool is nice. My balcony was right behind the large rock waterfall which made for a soothing sound. The hotel, however, is very dated. Both mattresses in our room were very old, no one was able to sleep comfortably. Staff was not very friendly and parking spaces run out early. Definitely will not be returning.

Thank you for the candid review. I am very surprised at some of the comments, our staff is experienced and guest satisfaction is our top priority. So sorry about the parking we are trying to make the property better by doing certain upgrades. I will share your comments regarding the room to housekeeping. And yes the large pool is cold we cannot heat it due to how many gallons it pushes a day, hopefully you found satisfaction in our heated pool that was located by your room. Hopefully you will come back in the future and have a better experience.
