it was dirty. dirty carpet, stained chairs, dirty bathroom. the only really clean thing in the room were the pillows, which were so scrunched up into these strange nugget shapes that it wasn't until the next morning i realized they were actually normal pillows. aside from the dirt, the finishes in our room were just terrible. my first caulk job, had i done it left-handed, would have been better than this. you could tell they did a room rehabe in the past couple years, but they didn't really finish removing parts of the prior room. obvious cost-cutting everywhere i looked, and we didn't check in until 2am! on the brighter side, the staff was friendly. hey, maybe even a little too talkative, but it's the midwest. there are a couple other hotels in the immediate vicinity, i would defintely look at those first. other bright side it was "only" $76 for the night, with the standard bad breakfast included. seems lately it's difficult to find anything much under $100, so i guess that's ok?
Upon check in found out the pool was closed for maintenance. One of the reasons why I picked this hotel was for the pool. Very disappointing. The hotel is nice but could use some updates and renovation in some areas. My room has peeling wall paper by the air conditioner. Our fridge/freezer was not plugged in, we didn't know. Went to plug it in and the prongs on the cord were bent real bad. Needless to say, melted ice cream and in happy guest. The hallway had debris on the carpet, maybe just not vacuumed but still looks bad. The staff is excellent, very nice and willing to help. Breakfast was great! Hotel just needs some maintenance work.
It wasn't the greatest experience, but not the worst. Price was reasonable. Room was clean. The ice machine by my room completely out of commission, which normally isn't a big deal, but the refrigerator was broken. If I were there for one night, it wouldn't be an off deal, but was there for 3 nights so it was sorta inconvenient. I know you get what you pay for, but you should at least get what you're being told you are getting for your money. It wasn't tragic. It wasn't the best either. Just ehh.
This was the worst place we ever stayed! The toilet wouldn't flush, the tub was filthy and cracked. There were numerous cracks in the walls and bad patch jobs where there were holes at one time. There was broken light sockets. My mother who was staying in the room also, is older and steps are hard for her. There is no elevator and the room was the last one in the hall. The staff was not willing to help in anyway. The next morning during check out the front desk clerk said she was making a list of all the complaints from the clients from the night before!! Seriously?? We were in town for a tournament and if there was anywhere else that wasn't sold out we would have moved immediately.
Money isn't everything, unless you don't mind having a clean room. My room was less than clean and my sister took pics of the hair , dust bunnies on the wall over the bed and cobwebs. After showing the pics to the front desk clerk, she had the nerve to offer a rag soaked in some type of liquid so that we could clean it ourselves. Then she promised an adjustment to the room rate which of course didn't happened. At checkout the clerk whose mouth looked like she is om meth, lied and claimed she had called the general manager and couldn't reach, promised she would get back with me and to this day, I never heard from them. No lie! Don't stay here! Looks like they're on their last leg. Pitiful service.
-quick check-in -requested location of room was honored -spacious room -comfortable bed -excellent hotel location -near restaurants -free wi-fi -free parking -free continental breakfast -I do recommend
Heading upstairs to 2nd floor- Footprints from mud or cement up the steps and down the entire hallway. The room wasn't much better, It wasn't vacuumed entirely , Tub was cracked, and it appeared the Hotel is not being taken care of, Does not meet Choice Hotel Standards
I had read mixed reviews on this property, but the price was reasonable so I thought I would give it a try. First knowing there was no elevator I had requested a room on the first floor when I made my reservation. I have COPD and stairs can be a challenge. When I checked in I was given a room on the second floor. The hallways were dirty, dark and smelled terrible. The furniture in my room was old with scratches. The carpet seemed dirty so I wore Sandler when walking in the room. When I wore them on the white tile in the bathroom they left black smudges all over, verifying how filthy the carpet was. The entrance door in the middle of the hotel was suppose to be locked at night. It was propped open all night allowing anyone access to the building. When I came down at 5am to get a newspaper there were some very drunk men trying to help there even drinker friend to his room. I will not stay here again!
These rooms were dirty, towels stashed under sink in bathroom filled with mildew and mold. Evening staff was very rude to several quests before me. Was a lot better when name was Comfort Inn but the conditions have gotten worse despite Choice Hotels putting the Quality Inn lipstipulated on the Facility. Great area poor facility.
We were glad that we arrived early since there is no elevator, and the desk clerk found us a downstairs room and then had housekeeping finish it for us. All staff that we encountered were very friendly and anxious to assist us in any way. The breakfast was the Quality standard, and the attendant was busy all morning keeping everything full, as the motel was full. It is an older motel in an area of several older motels. It does seem to be well maintained and the room was clean. If you need to stay in this area, this may well be your best choice.
