From checking in with Travis, to cocktails with Charles, and amazing food from Andrew. This place has been a wonderfully personable experience. Excellent people to be of help to our family, going above and beyond, all to make our trip a remarkable one. Thank you guys for everything you have done! We appreciate you :)

I stayed here for one night after an 11 hour car trip. I was extremely tired and just ready to get to my room. Travis, at the front desk, did a very nice job of recognizing me as a rewards member and getting my room quickly. Upon entering my room however, I was a bit disappointed. The carpet and chair were extremely stained...to the point where I wouldn’t even sit on the chair. Had the bed not been newer looking, I would have checked out immediately. The hotel needs a SERIOUS upgrade, as it is far from the quality of the Holiday Inns that I generally book. The nice front desk, and new looking bedding were the only reasons that I stayed. The next time that I am in the area, I will choose the more modern Holiday Inn Express down the street.

Good hotel. Nice clean room. Charles working the bar made the trip great!! Very friendly guy with great advice on places to go and things to do. Made our work trip more enjoyable. Thanks for everything

I want to start out by complimenting the staff. The girl that checked me in on Friday night (3/8) had a terrific personality. She was also quite efficient. The bartender, Larry, provided great service and was quite charismatic. All of the staff I passed anywhere in the building were pleasant. I had two meals at the restaurant and both were great. The facility itself was comfortable. The problem was noise. It wasn't that anyone in particular was loud, it's just that the walls are thin. You could have a conversation with the people on both sides and across the hall without leaving your room (think of the movie Office Space). I could definitely hear every word of the conversations from nearby rooms. On Friday night, I just figured it's because everyone was having a good time and talking too loud. But, on Saturday morning, it was just as loud and I like to sleep in. Due to this issue, I decided not to stay Saturday night even though I had already paid for it (room 317 on 3/8-3/10). They wouldn't allow me to check out so I just went home and checked out on the app on Sunday morning. I gave the hotel a 3 because I want people who are considering staying in the hotel to read this review. If noise isn't a problem for you, this is a pretty nice hotel. If you're sensitive to noise at all, you may want to find something else. A staff member told me that they'd be doing a remodel soon and this issue should be resolved. That's pretty cool because it's a nice facility in a convenient location. I don't have any complaints, other than the noise, but that's a big consideration with hotels. It wasn't the guests fault either, the walls are probably thin and have poor sound proofing.

I have stayed here twice for conventions. Unfortunately, they will not give me IHG rewards for the convention stay where other hotel chains do. Anyways, they are very accommodating and super nice. The rooms are clean. The restaurant food was delicious and their wait staff is nice (the grilled chicken is really delicious and I recommend). The hotel has an incredibly large lobby. There is a small game room, a pool, and hot tub. They have rooms that open up to the lobby and pool area. Can be fun for children. They have two elevators in the central part of the hotel. The convention and ball rooms are large and off to the side of the hotel. They must be close to the airport as both stays I have seen aircrew coming and going. Even with a convention going on and lots of kids and other parties going on, the rooms were quiet.

Other reviewers have pointed out that the physical plant is an older one (I was told that the hotel will be going through a complete upgrade in 2019) and it is showing its wear and tear. But don't let that stop you from reserving here! Housekeeping does a great job keeping everything clean, the beds are comfortable, and the pillows are fabulously so. The hotel is 2 minutes away from a major highway; it has probably the nicest in-house restaurant I've ever seen at a Holiday Inn and an even nicer steakhouse just a short walk away. True, you can find all these things at other locations, but what you won't find is the amazing people who work at this Holiday Inn. If memory serves, this was my fifth stay here since 2013, and I was amazed at how many employees I remembered, and who remembered me! This is perhaps THE nicest group of hotel employees I've ever encountered, and I travel for business frequently. There are several people there who have worked at that hotel for more than 15 years, and I can see why; the culture there is open, welcoming, and unfailingly friendly and helpful. Ellen in the hotel restaurant gave me such a lovely greeting and added, "It's nice to see you again!" She then turned me over to Amie, who went out of her way to treat me like a guest in her home, not like a customer. We had a group of 40 people there who at two lunches in the hotel, and the food was hot, plentiful, and delicious. My experience in the conference room we were using was equally positive. Our two-day training program was shepherded by the incomparable Tammy, who was amazingly efficient, kept us going with plenty of fresh, hot coffee and delicious snacks (you haven't lived if you haven't had one of the hotel's fresh-baked pretzels with steaming hot melted cheese). Tammy is so good at her job that you're hardly aware she's there, except when she checks in to make sure everything is going well. Assisting Tammy was Mary, who has worked at the hotel for twenty-seven years. I asked Mary, "What has kept you here so long?" She gave me her kind smile and said, "We're like a family here." And that's exactly what my stay felt like: like I had visited one of my favorite family of friends and been welcomed into their home for a wonderful stay. If you're looking for a sparkling, new, modern facility, you'll be disappointed (at least, for the rest of this year.) But if you wanted to be treated like you're vacationing in the home of your best friends . . . click "Book a stay."

The Holiday Inn Flint is an older (or, at least, dated) hotel where everything is starting to show its age. The furniture, the carpet, and the accessories are all showing significant wear (some damage). However, it is clean, comfortable, well-lit, spacious, and has a reasonable amount of amenities (large indoor pool, hot tub, small fitness room, restaurant, bar, etc.). No updating has been done for modern technology (no USB ports and I had to unplug a lamp to find an outlet for my MacBook cord). The convenience shop was grossly understocked. The host staff was efficient but not very friendly (even my greeting as a rewards member was perfunctory).

So I fly into Flint so I’m trying all in area. So far I would saw this is tied for second. You can look at other reviews for which I feel is better. The room was nice really needed refrigerator. And another piece of furniture so coffee pot was not in bathroom. Service was good from counter staff to housekeeping. Overall stay pretty good. The only bad deal was close to ice maker and damn that thing is loud. Lol.

Stayed here on 2 separate visits within one week - had 2 separate experiences with my lodging. On my first visit I was given a king bed room with a jacuzzi. This room had a stand-up shower about the size of a cruise ship shower - triangular and tiny. I was quite surprised. On my second visit I was given a room with a king bed room without jacuzzi. This room had a nice standard bathtub shower. Much better. There is a small gym and meeting rooms with separate conference center entrance (the partition is too thin, however, as one can definitely hear the meeting next door). The hotel hosts a happy hour on Tuesdays.

The room was clean, and the hallways were typically quiet. It is located close to a variety of restaurants. Even though it's near the expressway, you don't hear the traffic. Easy access to I-75,US 23, I-475, and just a few miles from I-69.
