I stayed at the Holiday Inn Flint when flying through the local airport and my usual hotel wasn't available. My expectations were low. After all, this is an older hotel near an airport in an economically depressed city that can't get any good publicity. Over 20-plus years I've probably stayed here a dozen times. It was renovated about six years ago when Holiday Inn updated its brand standards. While generally fine the decor was starting to show a little age here and there. Also, the lobby feels very 1996, though that's more a result of the building's architecture. The lack of cleanliness was really disappointing. My room had pubic hair in the bed and shower. It actually looked like housekeeping only changed the duvet, as the sheets had too much hair and indentations to have actually been clean and fresh. The front desk switched me to a new room, but it was a lower category room than I booked. Also, there were a couple long strands of dark hair on my pillows. I'm guessing this is from the housekeeper, as the rest of the bed was clean and without hair. The hotel should probably have its housekeepers wear hair nets. By this point it was pretty late at night and I didn't want to switch rooms again. I decided to just sleep without pillows, as I was leaving on the first flight of the morning. Room service was supposed to be operational until 10 p.m., I was told the attendant was gone for the night when I called down by 9:30 p.m. I went down to the restaurant, where the only seating was at the bar. There were a half-dozen other guests drinking at the bar, all of whom were clearly drunk and were using profane -- like really, really obscene words. I decided to place a carry-out order as I didn't want to sit in that kind of environment. I get that people talk that way at a bar, but this is a bar/restaurant in a family-friendly hotel. It's completely classless. The bartender should also stop serving guests who are clearly drunk.

Staff was extremely helpful, restaurant good value for the price. Room was nice with walk in shower which greatly helped. Only downside is that maid service was a lil lacking, sheets not changed floor not vacuumed, trash not properly attended to.

I stayed at the Holiday Inn Flint for one night prior to an outbound flight out of FNT. I stayed in room 422 a whirlpool King bedded room PRO’s • This is an older property has had some updates to look current • Good sized room • 37” JVC TV • Bathroom has lots of counter space for toiletries • Fairly clean • Decent wireless • Good work desk with mediocre chair, but only 2 unused outlets to power electronics • Average bed/bedding with 2 feather and 2 foam pillows CON’s • NO micro/fridge combo • Disappointing whirlpool looks like an afterthought, don’t waste your money • Anemic bathroom fan Overall I would give this property an 85/100 and 88/100 for value. I would consider staying here again, but would check the other properties nearby first.

As opposed to most people in my company I chose to sleep closer to the airport instead of a long drive about 3 am. Decent sleep with a bar/restaurant next door and pre-arranged airport shuttle saved me a lot of pain. Some folks were nice enough to leave a beer on my doorstep...

This is my second time staying at this hotel for business. Generally, I'm only here for one night, so I don't complain. Each time I've stayed here, my rooms have been very noisy. I can either hear the elevator, noise from the lobby, activity in the hall or the nearby restaurant. If you're tired and expecting a quiet evening & a great night's rest... this is not your hotel. However, the staff is very friendly & hospitable. The hotel is clean & well maintained to be an older hotel.

Walking into this Holiday Inn you expect an amazing hotel, from the staff to the large lobby, however we upgraded our room to the King Executive Suite with Jacuzzi and it was the grossest and most terrible room I have ever stayed in. Stains throughout the carpet, furniture, and rust poured out of the Jacuzzi. Bathroom shower isn't quite big enough for a 6ft man, and there is no light or shelving to place your soap onto. No vent in the bathroom so you have to keep the door open. The bed was way too stiff and had an indentation from people formed in it.

We booked two rooms, adjoining. We arrived before check in time and were given rooms immediately. It was an enjoyable experience for our 7 member, 3 generation family! Something for everyone, the pool and pool area were immaculate. Our rooms were on the second floor, quiet and comfortable. We paid for the morning breakfast and had great service! Would definitely go here again!

The hotel lobby area was very nice & clean. We had a poolside room, they are very outdated. The beds all sank in the middle, which made it very uncomfortable. This wasn't uncommon, we had almost all the poolside rooms in our group, they were all the same. Wasn't overly thrilled with ladies at the front desk, the could have been more polite. This is a great location, I'd like to see some room updates before we visit again.

I spent my 21st birthday here and you were all more than happy to accommodate to me. I spent most of my time in the restaurant at the bar, naturally, it being my 21st. I want to make a special thanks to the ladies in the restaurant, as well as Dawn, and Wesley. Wesley was so sweet and helpful the entire time. The ladies in J Porters were so nice and helpful. I didn't know what to get for my 1st drink and they told me what they recommended, and then that's what I had. I had a few questions throughout my stay and Wesley was so great with helping me. Hot tub, and pool were nice. The entire establishment is just absolutely beautiful. Thank you for making my 21st one to remember! - Kristina Metz

I always have a perfect stay whenever I'm here. The front desk always makes sure I'm well accommodated. Not to mention the housekeepers are SO SWEET! This weekend in particular there was a group of loud hockey players (little league) and they were banging on doors and making more noise than raiders at Wal-Mart on black Friday. But Mallory at the front desk came to the rescue and moved me to a quiet room away from the nonsense. So thank you so much! I appreciate everything and the hospitality.
