The hotel is fine, super close to UVM, going through some renovations so I'm sure it will be better than ok when complete. Staff at front desk, on the phone before we arrived and in the restaurants were lovely and helpful. The room was fine, a little dusty but perhaps due to the construction and ...
Hotel was great for me. Good value for the money. Nice staff, clean room and facilities. Good variety for breakfast. I appreciated the hard boiled eggs, yogurt and waffles. Also good location for airport and right next to Al's for yummy ice cream! Definitely would stay here again.
My husband and I love this hotel! It's so relaxing and comfortable. We tend to go in the off season so it makes really quiet. Which makes the experience that much better. The staff is so friendly and Borge restaurants are fantastic. Great location for venturing out to local bars and shops. I would ...
Right next door to local concert hall which was the reason we chose this hotel. Kind-of-dated but nice hotel overall. Easy check in by friendly staff. Two things that did bother me, 1. the shower head was not adjustable and 2. the a/c didn't have a continuous fan mode which meant it would turn on ...
The place is nice and clean. The halls are wide. The parking garage is a little contorted, but you can figure out where you are going eventually. Also, when we went, Cherry Street was closed, so it was a little difficult to unload - there was a special event going on for a few hours. Not normally a problem. We didn't use the gym or pool or eat at the restaurant. However, food is only from earlier in the morning til 10, then not again until 4 or 5 (which is why we didn't get room service).
North Star is an independent hotel, built probably back in the days, 1950's and 1960's when people began to travel more. Only minor improvements have been made since then. The room had a Westinghouse flat screen TV, but that's about the only change we could see. The door locks still use metal keys instead of more modern swipe cards. The beds were too soft, indicating the mattresses haven't been replaced in a long time. Continental breakfast is not available until 7:30 and consists of a limited selection of food purchased at the local Price Chopper. So why am I giving this a "Yes" in the "Recommend to a friend" category? It is inexpensive and convenient, right on route 7.
We needed to stay near St Albans and this was a good choice for us (2 adults, 2 kids). The hotel was well maintained, the beds were comfortable, the staff was very friendly, and the breakfast had a lot of options. The kids enjoyed the pool.
good hotel, good location, near highway, near airport, near mall, restaurants, continental breakfast was not gourmet but good
