Burlington, Vermont, is an excellent location to take a trip to a charming small city with plenty to offer. Situated less than an hour from some of the East Coast s best skiing, Burlington is a perfect winter ski break destination, offering visitors a place to relax and drink plenty of local microbrews after a day on the slopes. In the summer enjoy a boat ride around Lake Champlain, or a scenic hike during the day. Nearby hotspots include the Von Trapp family lodge and the iconic Ben & Jerry s Ice Cream factory.
After flying in to Burlington International Airport (BTV) you ll notice there is no public transport service from BTV into the city center, so taxis and car rentals are visitors only ground transportation options. A car is very handy if you plan to ski or hike in surrounding areas, but if you decide to stay in the city center during your visit, a taxi to town would suffice. The airport is nearby, and the downtown area is pedestrianized and easy to navigate by foot.
Church Street is the place to be in Burlington, and here you will find an incredible selection of bars and restaurants, many serving organic or homegrown produce, alongside local brews.
