Say what you want—-it is quaint, clean, and VERY inexpensive—-but I stayed here only to be with my traveling companions, one of whom was moving to a local nursing home. Otherwise, I should NOT have stayed here. The room itself had the standards most hotel/motel rooms, except one: “automatic” controllable temperature. I had to fiddle VERY frequently with the 1957 Chrysler-pushbutton-like switches so ut would not go from equatorial to arctic and back. All rooms use traditional metal room keys! I haven’t seen those since 2002! You think these are cute? I consider them to be badges of neglect, and of failure to renovate, They are not jewels of refined modernity. The inn is on a downtiwn street, and spoarently, Nevada does not enforce defective motor vehicle equipment, so I had to hear the continuous roar of mufflers. in conclusion, stay here only you must.
Stayed here one night enroute to Park City. The room was simple but updated and very clean. Breakfast was basic, just cereal and muffins, juice and coffee. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.
Small, inexpensive. Not much parking, but friendly, quiet. Dint understand bad reviews. Cheapest motel, what do you expect. Good bed, good TV. Couldnt ask for more. Will use them again anytime. No more to say.
If you’re looking for a place to stop after a day driving this is the perfect place. Well located walking distance from anything you need (if you’re tired of sitting in your car). A very basic roadside motel that is clean and comfortable. Proprietor is friendly.
Booked for one night while traveling through based on numerous five eye reviews in trip advisor. This is an old downtown motel. Yes the room was clean is the only thing I agree with. Thank goodness for that. The remodel many spoke of was like lipstick on a pig. Tiny parking lot put cars and motorcycles five feet from the rooms. Just after going to bed we woke up to the sound of two Harleys rumbling 10 feet from our bed. Woke up again at 4 AM when other guests loaded their car chatting and starting their engine to leave. At that point we gave up trying to sleep and just packed up and left. During the night we heard traffic noise, toilets flushing, people talking or loud TVs don’t know which for sure. Room was hot so we turned on the ac but it made the room smell like mildew. Our bathroom fan sounded like a lawnmower...I’m sure it woke up other guests. The “free breakfast” was served on a shelf about one foot by three foot in the tiny lobby maybe 6x9 feet in front of the registration desk. Don’t know what they served, don’t care, just wanted to get out of there. After thoroughly reading the reviews I noticed that the few negative reviews of this property, I fully expect to see an angry response from the management. My advice is stay anywhere else.
My son & I were passing through Elko on a long cross-country trip & stayed here for just one night. The proprietors are very, very nice. The room was clean, and the place was fairly quiet, but our room certainly didn't look or feel remodeled. The location is good--walking distance from decent eats, close to the highway. The provided continental breakfast was basic but did the job. (I went to the nearby Cowboy Joe's in the morning for a latte, and it was excellent.) It was fine for the price we paid; if I needed to spend another night in Elko, I'd certainly consider staying here again.
After a hot day driving across Nevada, the Esquire Inn felt like a home away from home. The bed was comfortable and the AC unit was located away from the bed-it kept the room perfectly cool without having to listen to it humming next to the bed. The owner was very helpful and at my request, directed us to a close by restaurant (Machi's) for dinner-best meal of our vacation-and best nights stay too.
I wanted to stay in Elko, NV because this town is mentioned in the opening scene of "Groundhog Day", one of my favorite movies! We were in the general area while driving cross-country, and while there are many motel options in Elko, probably because there also are many casinos in town, we were really happy staying at the Esquire Inn. The folks in the front office were friendly, our room was clean, comfortable, and reasonably priced. We'd definitely stay here again.
After a long drive from California the Esquire Inn was great. The host was very nice and clearly cared about the inn and his guests. Grabbed a dinner nearby and got back to the hotel to crash before the next leg of the trip. The room was spotless and the king bed was perfectly firm. The other guests were quiet and we woke up rested. For 60 bucks the breakfast was included, can’t ask for more!
