Stayed for 8 nights over Easter as a family of four with my wife and two sons aged 5 & 7. In spite of the 2 star rating I have given (poor), not everything was bad. Here is a summary... The good points: 1. Hotel is superbly located for both business and leisure. 5 minute walk to the metro. Close to the airport too and with the hotel shuttle bus to the beach and malls, it was easy to get around. 2. Staff really are lovely. Nearly everyone we interacted with was friendly and professional. However, we did not always receive accurate information. 3. The rooms are well equipped and the hotel is spotlessly clean. Turndown and room make up service is excellent. The bad points: 1. We were in Dubai to celebrate our wedding anniversary and as a last holiday for sometime before I start a new business back in the UK that will take me far away from my family for long periods of time. So I wanted this to be special. I emailed the hotel manager in advance to advise him of the special occasion and he replied stating his staff would look after us well. However, the reality was that no special services were provided - I have heard/read of other guests receiving upgrades or a special occasion cake etc but we received nothing. In the end, we dined out of the hotel on our anniversary night at a rival hotel who were superb when they learned we were celebrating our anniversary. 2 Check in was laborious and took ages after we had arrived early morning after a long overnight flight with two very tired little boys. At least our room was ready. However, when I expressed concern at our boys having to share a double bed, the receptionist stated nothing could be done as the room was not big enough to accommodate an additional bed. However, when I spoke to the Housekeeping Manager when we got to the room, he apologised and informed me that the receptionist should have just contacted them to request the sofa was converted to a sofabed, which he did swiftly allowing us all t sleep comfortably after the flight. 3. The main buffet restaurant Mundos was of low quality. Breakfast was ok but the dinner choices were very limited for a hotel of this size and some items were very poorly executed or dried out having sat under heat lamps for long periods. On a couple of occassions, the restaurant was full for breakfast so were directed to an alternative venue where the choice was limited and service was slow. 4. We took the half board deal and tried all the restaurants in the basement including Alfies, The Noodle House & ET Sushi. Please be aware that with the Jumeirah Flavours HB deal, most restaurants will not allow you to order a la carte but will instead show you a very limited set menu to choose from. At Alfies in particular, the choices were substandard compared to their main menu so you get the feeling you are being short-changed! When we used our HB vouchers at Jumeirah Beach Hotel and Madinat Jumeirah, we had a much better experience. 3. The shuttle service to the waterpark and beach was very crowded. On numerous occcassions we were herded like cattle onto substandard minibuses and frequently they had to draft in additional busses to deal with the demand, This could have been better organised. 4. The pool area was full each day by 10am with numerous families left waiting for sunbeds to become free. Also, the tiling the have used around the pool is not fit for purpose as it gets very hot and you are unable to walk barefoot from your sunbed (if you are lucky enough to get one!) to the pool without burning the soles of your feet. Finally, we spent most days away from the hotel using the facilities at the excellent Jumeirah Beach Hotel, Wild Wadi or other sights around the city. Such a shame I have had to write this negative review as we were really looking forward to this holiday and after reading so many other reviews, had high hopes of a tremendous stay. My new business commitments will bring me back to Dubai frequently over the next 12 months and I am already looking for somewhere else to stay!
Stay here when I visit Dubai for business and must say that all convenience for a pleasant stay is secured. - rooms very well equipped for business - perfect service by all the staff - good breakfast - variation of Bars to have a drink - For business stay excellent can only advice
Stayed last week in interconnecting rooms. Fantastic breakfast, comfortable rooms and overall a great hotel.Nice pool, friendly and helpful staff especially the concierges, Mary was fantastic, knowledgeable and personable We used the free shuttle and free entry to Wild Wadi Waterpark and also used the facilities at the beach hotel. Nice beach with great waves but watch out, 3 portions of chips and 1 bottle of water was £32.00..... Ouch! We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel and would definitely stay again on our next visit
A luxurious Hotel in the Centre of Dubai. Outstanding features, incredibly clean and superb tentative staff. Mushrooms at breakfast need to be cleaned thoroughly, many black bits not belonging to the mushrooms were mixed in and fried. Coffee was horribly strong unless acquired from the machine. Took 15 mins to deliver an ordered Eggs Benedict which was unsurprisingly cold and undercooked. The Room was superb and very clean. Quite possibly the best Hotel Bed we have slept in, very comfy. Free entry into Wild Wadi was nice and the two buffet dinners we had in the hotel were outstanding. The turn down service included a room spruce up and a careful tidy up. Room service was swift. The shock of staff seeing us wheeling our suitcases to reception on check out was pleasing, although this system needs streamlining as our bags sat where the shocked staff placed them and never got loaded into the Car until I myself went to retrieve them from in the Hotel lobby.
Easter holiday with family. Hotel is exceptional. Staff are industry leading from the concierge to room service. This hotel is located in the heart of the business down town area. However families are well looked after. Safety and security are well in place also. The place it self is clean and maintained to very high standards. As this hotel is 50 plus floors the lifts are fast and always available within approx 10 seconds you will have a lift to transport you between floors. No feedback in terms of concerns just simple thumbs up and go and stay.
Fantastic service, were allowed to check in at 8am with no extra charge, breakfast was divine and most comfortable bed I have slept in! We were upgraded to the next room up 2 levels from the top with an incredible view. Highly recommend.
We were met by very friendly and helpful staff after an overnight stay. Nothing was a bother and after a welcome drink we were given our rooms immediately. We were allowed to have breakfast although officially we were not guests until later that day. We were fortunate to be upgraded to a Junior Suite as we were celebrating a significant birthday and anniversary. Our suite was on the 43rd floor which we accessed via a very fast lift. The rooms were perfect with every detail attended too. Toiletries were amazing which is something I love in a Hotel. The bed was very comfortable with the biggest pillows I have every seen. As this was our first visit to Dubai we were regular visitors to the Consierge who were more than helpful. Shuttle buses to the Mall and Jumeirah Beach were a bonus and we used them often, however, it is worth while walking round the corner to get a day pass on the train which lets you see Dubai from a different perspective and a bit of an adventure. We made it all the way to Palm Atlantis. Back to the Hotel - we were a bit worried about staying here with it being in the business area but there was no need to be. There is a good mix of people using this Hotel and actually a lot more families (which made it a bit noisy and hectic at breakfast but get a table by the window and you can avoid most of the chaos). Food was fantastic! If I was being over critical I would say try to cater for all tastes at the Pool. We sat there one afternoon and the music was blaring (club music). However, all in all I wouldn't hesitate on revisiting this luxurious, clean, comfortable, convenient Hotel.
Awesome stay, with perks totally worth it! Stayed on 38 fl( upgrade) with free wadi park everyday. Clean room, amazing bathroom (my big criteria), really good bkfast (ask Rodel Mark to make you a juice concotion) v polite smiley people - Jeff at the reception and Sampat in housekeeping Will defi visit here again
We stayed for 4 days. As soon as we got off the car, our luggages were taken care of. The hotel caters mostly to business travellers. However, there are quiet few families staying here with kids. Hotel provides free shuttle bus to the Jumeirah beach. Hotel also provides free shuttle bus to the Dubai mall, however, with only 4 buses/ day, it does limit the flexibility of the shopping schedule. The suite on the 43rd floor was medium size, with separate living room and small office. It'd be perfect if there were more closet space added. The hotel is in V shape , ask for the room with even number might get you better view of downtown Dubai. The lounge on the 42nd give great service with hot food, beverages and relaxations. The interesting part is the location of the gym, which is located inside the mall, and also to their own members. Service was great and warm. Staff were trying their best to make the stay as great as possible. With the Jumeirah group management, it provides great service worldwide, especially in Dubai, we will definitely come back here.
Absolutely wonderful! From the moment you are greated by porters on arrival to the way you are treated by receptionists, concierges and all other staff you feel special. The facilities are great, access to the private Jumeirah beach and Wild Wadi water park is great if you are with the kids. Location is perfect to reach almost any part of Dubai for shopping, entertainment or whatever you may think of. Special thanks to the concierge Harsha and Duty Manager Sachin for their attention and attitude. We also enjoyed a little bit of spa treatment as part of a silver package (the package itself was absolutely worth every penny you pay for it) and decided that Talise spa definitely deserves a more detailed attention next time we stay in JET. And the views! Both from your room and from the panoramic elevators - they are breathtaking. Thank you for the memorable experience and can't wait to come again
