hotel was OK... kind of depressing impression upon arrival. Not much around

We arrived to check in and there was no one there to check us in. There was someone in front of us waiting as well. When we did finally check on 20 minutes later, she offered no information about the hotel. Then later that evening I tried calling the front desk at least a dozen times to get additional blankets and no one ever answered. Also, the advertised price on Orbitz said $114 and then I clicked book it and all of a sudden it was over $140! Never again...

Fine, better for longer stays as it has two burners and a fridge. I was on the ground floor, a bit noisy as I was near the entrance. I still slept fine.

Staff was very helpful and nice. Location was very close to the show that we came to see.

The continental breakfast was the best!! Rooms were really spacious and clean, the fridge and microwave in the rooms were awesome.

It was fine for the night after traveling to town for the Piston's game. It was right near the arena. Nothing special about this place as it is more of an extended stay than a typical hotel. The staff was nice.

Hotel was great. Close to Palace. I would pre schedule a taxi ride before hand if attending a large concert. They are hard to find last minute!

No complaints with this hotel. Rooms were nice, location was close to Palace

Stayed for 5 nights. Hotel is fine. Has an exercise room, which I need. Comfortable bed. Good wifi. Cooked breakfast has almost same menu each day. Also, the cooked breakfast taste was not so good.

As far as a "suites hotel" Hawthorn covers all the basics well. We had everything we needed. The kitchenette was nicely stocked. The laundry facilities were clean and convenient, The only drawback was what they consider "breakfast".It was just coffee and vending machine type muffins and granola bars.Bring your own breakfast type foods and use that well equipped kitchenette.

Nice place, they are going through some renovations, I would stay there again.

Staff very friendly, room nice and clean. Really liked the kitchen, they had everything that you would need to cook your own meals. Silverware, dish's, pots and pans. The kitchen had everything you would have at home. Very large bath. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Was really close to palace and good deal. Room had stove, fridge and good amount of room. I would stay there agian for sure.

I recently book a room here for the night of the bob seger concert. The staff was great the hotel itself was absolutely fine. The only issue, and it was a big one, was that our room smelled. It smelled very strongly of urine. Overall everything was great, but that smell was pretty disgusting.

The only downfall I had was there was no continental breakfast. Just a few muffins and some juices. Other than that it was a great experience!!

Staff is great!!! Just 20 min from DTE saw the Beach Boys and giant outlet mall. Recommended a great breakfast place. am planning a spring get away with the girls, and will stay there!!!!

My experience was good. I got a good nights sleep woke up feeling refreshed.

The room looked okay at first glance. A full size fridge, microwave, coffee pot, even a store eye, and dishes. Upon a closer look, the room had ants marching along the carpet line in the middle of the room from one side to another. Also, the internet in the room was not working as the modem under the desk was making an odd noise. Also, it appears no one has cleaned in front of the kitchen area in months. I realize I may be nit picking, but a hotel with an insect problem is very unacceptable. I walked up front to report it to the staff, but stood there for 10 minutes and no one ever showed up to the desk. Overall the hotel was nice, with the exception of those problems. I won't be staying there again however.

Fairly new and very clean and comfortable. Some extras other places don't offer like a microwave container and free popcorn, free packets of coffee available from the Candlewood cupboard. Only problem there was a very heavy footed person over on the floor above that got active late at night when I was in bed.

The staff was great!! They put up with all of our craziness, comming all hours of the day and night. The room was very roomy and had everything we needed.

Michelle, we are so sorry we let you down. Our telephone must not have been working. We do step into the back to fold our laundry during our front desk shift. If you would please read other reviews from past stays you will see most guests love our hotel.
