Was nice to have an apartment size room. Great views of the area?
I encountered an issue with the billing at this hotel as I was mistakenly charged twice, and despite my attempts to resolve the matter, Orbitz and the hotel have been uncooperative in reversing the additional charge. I strongly advise against booking a stay at this establishment, or using Orbitz for reservations. It has been a frustrating experience dealing with this situation.
Perfect location for the stadium district. Walking distance to a lot of great restaurants , bars, and shops.
I booked a double queen room and upon arrival to check in I was not given the room I booked because they overbooked. Also was told the valet was full and I had to pay $50 to park in a garage. Absolutely terrible, I will never return.
About as good as it gets for downtown Detroit. Great location for dining/shopping.
Love the historical building. Great views including Comerica park.
Very nice hotel really close to Comerica Park.
We three brothers chose two rooms for two nights because of the hotels location to the baseball park. We were asked if we wanted maid service and we said yes. We never received any and we stopped by twice to reconfirm. Our rate never reflected any compensation for this failed attempt to offer a service that is expected and included with all brand name hotels. This was super disappointing since we discussed this specific service in advance. The hotel had only one operating elevator of six. The bar denied service 5 minutes prior to closing with no patrons in sight. There was an odd odor also in the enclosed bar room.
Room was clean but a few disappointing things. We were missing hand soap and had to use the shower body wash. When walking in the hall we found fuzzy growing mold in what looks like an old drinking fountain. We mentioned it to the staff and they were very apologetic and said it would be cleaned but it was still there the next day. Aside from the bedside lights there was only 1 room light over the bathroom sink which is located in the room (toilet and shower in a separate room). I couldn’t turn on the light in the toilet area without turning on the room light which was a problem in the middle of the night and my husband was sleeping. The lobby of the hotel is amazing and the location is great! Staff were so friendly and very helpful. Has a great open seating area in the lobby that was great for eating or playing games with friends!
Loved everything about this hotel. The view of Tiger stadium was the highlight. The room was small but very clean and the entire staff was helpful and friendly.
This is an amazing example of a historic building updated with love and care. GORGEOUS! The attention to detail is beautiful and the rooms are super comfy! Quality beds and linens (could have used another blanket though, the comforter was a little on the thin side). The only criticism is that it would have been nice to have a Keurig or coffee maker in the room. GREAT location!
Building itself was beautiful. Very friendly staff . Very clean!
Staff was polite and friendly and rooms were really comfy and clean.. the lobby was beautiful
Rooms has really bad smell Upon arrival. Toilet ran all night unable to sleep. Will not be staying here again
Great location. Staff was very friendly. Rooms are extremely clean

Jared,We completely understand how frustrating it can be to arrive and not receive the room type you had booked, and we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. There may possibly be another reason the valet turned away your vehicle, as we've never heard of that happening for an overnight guest due to capacity. We appreciate your feedback and hope to have another opportunity to provide you with a more positive experience in the future.
