The old buildings are beautiful, and each room is unique. The room was unusually shaped but adequate space for bed, table, TV, bathroom, closet. The common areas left for guests to use are charming and comfortable, stocked with tea, coffee, and water.

The location is perfect for visiting area museums. I found parking on the street. Checking in and out was easy and efficient. Breakfast was abundant and good as was coffee throughout the stay. But the buildings are showing a some wear and could use a little love. There are many small paint chips, a shelf in the public bathroom hanging off the wall, a chair in the dining room without enough stuffing in the seat. The shower liner was too long so the edges hung in the water and had a little mold. Nothing is major to deter my staying here again but I hope these nitpicky things can be attended to in order to make the improve the experience.

Its a charming placryc e, the breakfast was fabulous strawberries eggs, great. 2 things. Guests should be warned about flights of stairs ahead oftime. and secondly unfortunately there was a huge party inthe courtyard until 4 am. the party organizer apologized to us but said she was told there would be no booking where we were placed. Things happen. But would have been nice at least to get an apology from management. .

Proximity to the Detroit Institute of The Arts unsurpassed. If the DIA is your destination do not bother to stay anywhere else. 25 minutes LYFT to and from the airport you will not need a car. Neighbors include Wayne State University, The Center for Creative Studies, and The Detroit Public Library. Breakfast was awesome, eggs, sausage, berries, granola, cereals, yogurts, juices and coffee. Fill up at the INN and then have lunch at the DIA. It has a cafe and a cafeteria. Skip dinner and rest up for the second DIA visit. Recommend two days at the DIA, three nights on Ferry. One day before DIA with 3PM check in, one day after second follow up DIA visit. Checkout after breakfast.

The registering was painful, last minutes changes of the attributed room, with a bed about 4 feet high, and a ladder to get up and down. To get a room with a more normal bed was a difficult fight. When we said that we had come already several times it was said that this was not true (we had come twice before)... So not what you would expect from a hotel of this price.
