First time at this all inclusive but many trips to Cozumel. The resort is a wonderful mid range cost option. Staff including front desk are better than most. Will definitely return in the future.

Don’t recommend it it’s very small

We were with a group of friends and stayed for a week. What we did like was: 1. The food and service in the restaurant. German and Victor were both awesome. So were the other people. There is only one restaurant, not two. And it is totally open, so the one day the winds were bad they had to close up and move everyone to a conference room. They did a great job in a hurry though. 2. The location is nice if you want to be close to touristy things. Also, there is a dive shop on site. With the all inclusive package you get an hour of snorkeling daily. I took the scuba class right at the hotel. I was surprised how much I could see being so close to the cruise ships and the hotel. The water is clear and beautiful. 3. It isn't far to walk to most things you may need. The ferry was only about a mile away. The hotel was clean. What we didn't care for: 1. The rooms seem out dated. I wouldn't take a bath in that tub. It seemed like it was clean but just really old. 2. The lamps were broken. 3. The cruise port was right next door which some people may love but the ships blocked a lot of the ocean views. And we could hear the bar next door from our room. 4. We repeatedly had to ask for toilet paper. That was a first for me. They treated it like it was gold. 5. There really isn't much of a beach so if you want to hang out at a beach with easy access this isn't the place for you. 6. The elevators are small and don't seem adequate for the traffic if the hotel is busy.

El Cid was just ok overall, food was good but limited, the wait staff in the only restaurant was excellent and German and Victor were outstanding. Housekeeping was spotty, had to ask to have toilet paper put in the room more than once, same for towels and it was like asking for a cash handout. This is the only all inclusive we've stayed at that didn't have a refrigerator in a room, much less for any hotel. The $600 in credits they offer was a joke, wasn't able to use a single one of the coupons.

Staff was great.. Ruby, Victor, and German were amazing

First time staying at El CID - pleasant stay - staff and food were great - no issues at all - definitely above average for the resorts in Cozumel - have stayed at many

El Cid La Cieba was ok. According to Orbitz, our "deluxe rooms included a queen bed and a double pull-out sofa. Not the case. The "deluxe" rooms are caves - dark, small, and uncomfortable. There was 1 murphy style bed that took up the entire room. My husband and I ended up upgrading to a larger room, which was much needed. Every single chance that El Cid had to charge us extra, they did. It was so frustrating. The service was not great. It was exceedingly obvious that priority was given to their members. We waited long periods of time for our food in the restaurant. There was only 1 one restaurant - not the 2 that were advertised. The food was ok - we loved the desserts. The massages at the spa were fantastic - we miss her! The towels did have a very strong chemical smell to them. Not sure what that was. The cruise ships were neat to watch but annoying at times as they were loud. The cruise ship passengers do dominate the beach area, but it is fine as long as you get a spot early in the day. I felt like I had to check every single transaction and event here, because I felt like we were always getting screwed out of money. We won't be back. DONT DO IT

I liked that it was on the ocean. Room was big and comfortable. Just a bit dated, just one restaurant

they need to spray for mosquitoes. Our patio and the main dining areas needed to be treated . Everything was excellent staff food and pool

We love our stay in this hotel. The beach is very clean, the cruise ships didn’t bother us, our balcony is overlooking the cruise ship terminal but it’s still very nice. The water is very clean, crystal clear and there’s fish everywhere. We enjoyed snorkeling just around the property. The staff were all very friendly and attentive. Would definitely come back!

Property was completely under construction. Drilling at most hours of the day. Even some evenings. It did not matter which side of the property are on there was construction on the north wing and the sales center area.

There is only one restaurant and the menu didn’t change for breakfast or lunch. However, it was always good and lunch was made to order. They are doing some construction, but it didn’t interfere much. Staff was very nice and property was clean, just older and could use updating.

The best part was snorkeling and floating right off dock. This was our third trip to ElCid and will be our last. Needs major updates. Our first room was so bad with mildew we changed. Second was not much better. Tried to change again and they stated all rooms were booked, which I found hard to believe. Food is mediocre. Service was great the first two days and then after that we could hardly get any service. Very disappointed

Been to several all inclusive resorts on Cozumel, but El Cid has the best food.

I was highly disappointed to find out that my all inclusion did not cover wifi without an extra charge, and seafood or steak order without an extra charge. Mediocre at best.

I didn’t like the small parking area. Staff was nice and friendly.

We like this hotel for its wonderful people. The swimming and snorkeling right from the grounds is very good.

Great for family snorkeling. Staffs are friendly. Food is delicious. Would definitely come back.

Older resort but still pretty nice, grounds well kept, staff super nice and helpful, few issues with elevator. Will definitely stay again.

We have been going to Cozumel for 12 years and this was our first time at El Cid. The elevator was only working occasionally and they were enlarging the second one so being on the 11th floor was inconvenient but they plan to have this resolved. The food and the service was the best we have ever had and the restaurant had lovely views right on the water. Sal the concierge was amazing and very attentive. The waiters were wonderful and always strived to please especially Atocha,Jonathan, and Victor. We would definately stay her again.
