When we arrived to One Aldwych it was like a dream. We were greeted wonderfully, and our bags were already in our room before we entered. Upon entering one of their circle rooms (worth the upgrade!) we were immediately given a sense of place, right at the end of Waterloo bridge. London lit up above and double decker buses cruised by down below. We were traveling with our 5 month old and they had a baby bath and products along with a One Aldwych teddy bear for him to take home. It was service beyond compare. My husband and I are gluten and dairy free and their whole menu in the restaurant is such. They catered to our needs impeccably, and the food was beyond delish. when I stay in london, there's no nowhere else but this hotel for me.
Loved this hotel, location for theatres and opera perfect and the hotel is excellent in every aspect. Fab bar with interesting cocktails. Lovely Spa with pool. Service outstanding. Will definitely be back.
I took my fiance the day I proposed. The staff were incredible. I'd prepped them as to the situation beforehand. They were so helpful and enthusiastic. Everything went perfectly. We couldn't have been happier. Hotel was amazing, spa was great, cocktails delicious. Couldn't fault it.
The hotel itself is centrally located. The rooms were a bit small but efficient for business travel. The staff provided great service, the breakfast was delicious. I would recommend this hotel to folks looking for convenient business travel within the heart of London.
Lovely, small hotel. Impeccable service. Great concierge. Beautiful spacious room and bath. Great location at Covent Garden. Near good shopping and restaurants. Very nice lobby bar. We loved our short stay, next time will be longer!
service all around was five stars. all staff were very attentive and helpful. I also enjoyed the lobby bar, great drinks and very nice snacks. I did not get to try the restaurant. The room was nice but a bit drab. it did not make me feel like I was in a 5 star hotel more like three stars.
We booked as part of a night to the theater and this hotel is perfectly placed, although as expected in this are its not cheap, however room was a decent size and very quiet despite overlooking the Aldwych. Breakfast was excellent with the staff almost too attentive
+ The spa! It's huge, the swimming pool is great, it's the best I have seen so far! + The service, everybody has an A+ attitude, I am used to 5* hotels: they are at the best! - The rooms are small - They are noisy (you can hear the TV in the room next door) - The shower in the room felt really cheap, but the rest of the bathroom was fine. To summarize, the overall quality of the room is not on par with top 5* locations, but the service and the spa makes up for it.
It's hard to imagine a better location for a visitor to London than One Aldwych, at the junction of Aldwych and the Strand. Nearby are famous landmarks, museums and art galleries with theatres and restaurants literally by the dozen. Covent Gardens funky shops and teeming Oxford Street are not far away. One Aldwych is everything you would expect from a five-star hotel and more, with very friendly service, chic decor and the building and rooms impeccably maintained. BTW the in-house restaurant Indigo serves good food at a great value - worth a look.
The property itself is first class...perfection everywhere. Crisp attention to detail and one of the most stunning lobbies of any hotel. Lots of marble and very tasteful and interesting furniture and art. The location is just fantastic....right in the center of the london world. But heres what really makes Aldwych stand out far above so many hotels....all the staff are just so amazingly and enthusiastically happy gracious and kind. Most striking were the crisp and charming doormen....they are the ambassadors and its clear they know just how big an impact they make. As we were leaving they insisted on finding a bag for me to carry things...even though i didnt want to trouble them.....but thats the thing....they wanted very much to make my day easier! Finally, we wanted our three year olds to experience afternoon tea. In far too many places in london children are a bother. Aldwych made it clear our children were very much welcomed to enjoy their Charlie and the Chocolate Factory inspires tea....and Aldwuch treated our boys to an experience they will never forget! Many thanks to every member for all the kind efforts!
