What to do while traveling with your pet in South Carolina’s Columbia? Enjoy the many parks, of course! Try out some local restaurants, have a long walk, and treat your pup with fresh baked treats.

Activities with your pet in Columbia (SC)

Columbia has a lot of river walks for you and your four-legged companion to visit! Columbia Canal and Riverfront Park is a lovely place to enjoy the weather or take a long walk. Granby Park is a dog friendly 12-mile river park. Leashed dogs are also welcomed at the Sesquicentennial State Park.

The region’s most popular park is Finlay Park. It serves as a site for events such as festivals and concerts, but can be visited with leashed dogs. Every once in a while, dog-events are organized, such as Bark to the Park. A walk through the town, with an ‘after-pawty’, including contests and entertainment.

A holiday is a great time to treat yourself and your four-legged friend! Pupcakes Pet Boutique near the Colonial Life Arena has a selection of toys, collars, and leashes, but your dog will love their fresh baked treats especially. In case your trip happens to fall on your dog’s birthday, they will even throw a pawty, a birthday party for your dog!

No need to worry about leaving your pet behind when it is time for dinner. Columbia has many pet-friendly restaurants, cafés, and bars. Look for an outdoor table. For instance, Flying Saucer has a wide selection of beers, tasty eats, and very accommodating staff. Yesterday’s is a pub type restaurant and bar and Cantina 76 has a climate-controlled patio to enjoy while having your specialty tacos.
