I should have asked if the hotel was 1: overbooked for my room-type original request made over 2 weeks ago. 2: I should have asked if the hotel was under renovation. I'm very disappointed in the experience for a Marriott hotel. I had to take a differently graded room (at no additional cost) but in a different building with no ice machine, no business center except for going back to the main building, and during icy/snowy conditions it wasn't very pleasant. The hallways, carpet, etc. was obviously under renovation, making it kind of dusty/dirty which I'm not used to.

Suites are nice with a full kitchen but the whole property is undergoing renovations which is a bit of a let down. The staff is wonderful and very helpful. Breakfast in the morning is nice just your typical continental breakfast.

The hotel was undergoing painting and other remodeling during our visit Dec 2017 . Our remote for the TV didn't work and was promptly replaced. Bed was comfortable. Doesn't have a upgrade feel, but it was perfect for what we needed.

The room was okay with a comfortable bed. It had all the advertised amenities. It just wasn't very clean (compared to other Marriott properties). The room appeared to have been remodeled, which would be fine if whatever was done blended in with everything else. The room also had an odor... stale, almost moldy-like. And its heater looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a very long time. We kept it off while we stayed the night. Front desk individual on duty when we arrived was very nice.

After a day of driving for 10 hours and then driving around Middleburg Heights looking for this hotel, we finally found it tucked behind the Courtyard parallel to I-71. We had enjoyed staying at the Residence Inn on previous visits to family in the area but it is a different hotel now. When I was making reservations and saw TownPlace Suites was a Marriott, I thought it would be similar and on the same level as the Residence Inn. NOT AT ALL! I quickly noticed when I entered that the carpet was worn and there were leaves and other debris on it. Had it been vacuumed recently? The person at the desk rudely asked, "Why are you here?" I replied but then asked why did she need a profile on me and it was really none of her/their business. (I later remembered marking "leisure" when I made the reservation but I have never been asked that question when I checked into a hotel.) After looking around, I decided not to bring in anything until we saw the room. There is only one elevator and the room was at the other end of the building. The hall was worn, the doors, etc. were scratched and this certainly did not look like the Marriott hotels I've stayed in over the years. The hall smelled from what might have been guests cooking. We looked at the room and found it to be worn and not very pleasant to stay in for 3 nights. When looking at the kitchen, the cooktop was dirty. We decided that if they hadn't cleaned the crust off a smooth top electric surface, what else in the unit was not clean??? We did not want to stay there. We went back to the check-in desk and checked-out. We stayed in the Courtyard but I would have slept in the uncomfortable rental car before I stayed at this hotel. I've stayed in rustic places, but they were clean. This place wasn't clean. Certainly not what I thought was Marriott standards. Terrible for the $146/night we were to pay. The Courtyard was much nicer and clean for the same price.

We had an excellent visit to the Towne Place Suites - very convenient to the 80th birthday party that we were attending in Strongsville. The hot breakfast was very good. There was a fitness center with my favorite [Life Fitness] elliptical machine.

After the tornado had hit the house I was living in, I had to stay two nights in the hotel because of power cut. I was definitely satisfied with the accommodation. The hotel room was clean and well furnished with the kitchenette, couch and tv. What could be better is breakfast. I missed fresh vegetables .But all in all, I can recommend this place, it is dog friendly, too.

The toilet seat was cracked in half, which I found out in the middle of the night. Ouch!! Then at 6 in the morning the fire alarm went off. I was the only one who ran out into the parking lot because the front desk did not inform me until then that "this happens often". For a Marriott hotel, I was disappointed.

This is an older TownePlace. It was dated, small bathroom area, holes in some of the towels. We had toddlers with us & I felt the TV setup in the main room was a hazard - it was on a sliding shelf & I was afraid they were going to pull it over on themselves. Cleanliness was average. But beds were very comfortable and the staff was very nice and helpful.

I stayed for a week here and the service was friendly and the room quite comfortable, but overall the place was definitely old and felt it. The hall carpets were all stained and the doors marked up. The couch in the room looked like it had been sat on one too many times as well. I'd definitely stay here again and I was definitely comfortable staying, plus I loved that I couldn't hear my neighbors! The place just could use a little TLC.
