The Gilded Age

Beautiful old mansion lovingly restored with so much charm! This was a fantastic location for our needs. We were able to walk past estates and cute cottages with beautiful gardens to shops and restaurants for breakfast and lunch. Close to the Buffalo History Museum and other local attractions and about 20 minutes from Niagara Falls. Our host was able to let us have an early check in time and he gave us a tour of the house with some interesting background info. He lives quietly on the third floor and we had the first and second floors to ourselves. Note, this is not a hotel, it is a private home. No room service, but a terrific kitchen with pots and pans and dishes. If you want a spa like retreat with full service, this is not for you. You have use of a parking space and front door entrance with your own keys to the front door and four separate keys for each bedroom.
Every room has a different fireplace. So wonderful! Pocket doors can be closed to separate the kitchen from the huge dining room and the living room.
Wonderful enclosed porch with cute fairy lights. An open air porch is right in front of this, so you get your choice! The outside isn’t grand, but the inside is impressive if you like homes built in the 1800’s!
Little kids would love this little nook under the stairs.
Stunning staircase made me smile each time I climbed up to the bedrooms. The stairs do creak a bit, but that didn’t bother us.

Old World Charm

Charles greeted us upon arrival and took us on a tour of his beautiful house. It was magnificent. Spacious and well-appointed. A terrific stay!
