Loved this hotel!! Staff is so friendly and helpful and we used the Concierge to book several tours for us. Hotel is in the perfect location as it is walking distance to tons of things. The daily river cruises leave from right in front of the hotel and the outdoor street market is right around the corner. Bed are super comfy and the pillows are amazing! Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Budapest for business or pleasure
Nice breakfast. Big and nice room and bathroom. Quiet and walking distance to shops and main shopping street.
Location absolutely perfect. View from the room of the Buda side was exquisite. Executive Lounge was phenomenal (both the lounge itself and the amazing views it afforded). Staff extremely professional and happy to assist. Top-of-the-line establishment!
room was good ,tv channels not to much on english ,sport channel did not work ,leak in bathroom.rest was ok.
All good. There's always a chance something might happen -- power outage, burst pipe, the angry people banging on the door at 3 a.m. -- etc. But nothing happen... It was all good
We arrived at 10 am and were able to check in early which was a real plus. There is an executive lounge which as marriott elite we were able to use . On Saturday there was a fireworks display on the river which the hotel faces. The view in General is outstanding but at night with fireworks was quite amazing!,,
Hotel was ok the staff was not friendly, I would suggest the Marriott executive Apartments Millenium Court, just 2 blocks away much better value and friendly and helpful staff.
Old rooms. It really needs updating. But has a good view.
High points are the staff, the views, and the Executive Lounge.
Even that I stayed alone I highly reccommand this hotel to families and couples as well. Perfect location in the heart of the city on the Danube, close to many great restaurants, shops, the Parlament and many other famous buildings. Loved the fact that business center, fitness center available 24/7.
Right on the river boardwalk and steps from the no. 2 tram; a block from the major tourist walk street in town; good river view, not great, though I think virtually all rooms have some river view it would have been best to have a view "up" the Danube rather than "downstream" and thereby would have been able to enjoy a night view of the chain Bridge. INcluded breakfast was superb. Have a big breakfast if you buy the included breakfast (which I'd recommend), but otherwise eat dinner out for sure; great food just blocks away with many choices.
The service is excellent. Our room is clean with great view to Danube river. The only drawback is the bathroom - only have a small spot for shower, no tub at all. You have to keep push the faucet to get running water - I understand it's a design to save water, but it's very inconvenience during the shower.
The location is excellent, close to the Yellow Metro Vörösmarty tér and the boat tour Legenda pier. We paid $112 for a night and it was very good value.
This is a great, clean, tourist-friendly hotel with killer views of the Palace and Chain Bridge. Excellent location as well for walking around Budapest. It's about what you would expect for a tourist hotel right on the water. A bit Euro-trendy, not totally upscale, but very very serviceable with very friendly English-speaking staff. One knock (which seems to apply almost everywhere in Budapest) is the expensive internet service, which is around $30/day.
The hotel location was perfect, rooms were very nice with great overview on the Danube. Staff was very friendly but there were some miscommunication with regards to payment of taxes and fees and whether the breakfast was included into the price. However, it was soon sorted out and the breakfast was excellent, with lots of choice and very pleasent atmosphere.
The Marriott Budapest is conveniently located in Pest, overlooking the Danube River. Our junior suite was beautiful and comfortable with magnificent views of the river and castle. The staff was exceptional and we appreciated the availability of Mercedes taxis with pre-negotiated rates. Good shopping is nearby. Suggestion: exchange some money into the local Hungarian currency before arriving. Recommendations: take a bathing suit and visit the famous mineral bath spa near the zoo; walk across the street and visit the impressive zoo; walk down the street for lunch at the famous Gundel's restaurant, then take in an evening performance at the stunning Opera House.
I live in Slovakia, temporarily and teach English, (I am a missionary and will go home this year), so for a nice weekend getaway I love to come to Budapest. My first time there I stayed at the Budapest Marriott - the view was so incredible that I slept with my window curtains open all night just so I could enjoy the view when I woke up. Now, I can not imagine staying anywhere else! The service is excellent of course and the food is delicious. The prices for internet and food are quite expensive so I don't eat there unless I get a deal with breakfast included and the internet I try for just one hour a day. Anyway, I love this hotel and I love Budapest - it is the perfect location to see all the sights on both sides of the beautiful Danube!
What was not to like? Great exercise room, almost everyone on staff was friendly (with excellent English language skills); nice room. Great breakfast (minor nit: I was led to believe that it was included in the price; not so -- but extraordinarily good food, fresh wonderful fruits, every conceivable kind of breakfast food. (Coffee could have been stronger).
Lovely view of river and castle, ideal location, staff helpful, room luxuriously appointed. internet not included and pricey--otherwise, extremely satisfying.
