We booked this hotel knowing about its location to the city centre but please be aware if you expect a quick straight forward trip into the city this probably isn’t the place for you. The room was a double and very spacious. The bed was reasonably comfortable although one of the mattress springs had slightly pierced through. The heating was on all through the night with no option to turn off. The bathroom was good but the bath and sink had no plug and the shower head had no wall fixing so it was all made a bit awkward. We didn’t eat at the restaurant or have breakfast so cannot give a review. All in all a nice place that just needs updating and certain features bringing up to scratch.
Unfortunately, our stay in the hotel has ended unpleasantly. We had to pay the receptionist the overnight fees while we had already paid for it but he could not find the bill. He asked us to pay again and, if it turned out that we had already paid, he would refund the money. The receptionist has called us a few times to apologize and with the promise that he would pay the money, but that never happened. I had paid him cash without invoice so booking.com can't do anything. I recommend to pay this hotel when you check out and request an invoice.
This hotel is more guest house than hotel but it's really cosy and homey. Rooms were clean, the stuff nice and breakfasts delicious! It's true that every day there were the same food but it was tasty. The hotel is located in quite area near the Danube and the oldest part of city - Aquincum where we can have great time in the evenings. Moreover, public transport is really good developed in Budapest what makes that we can get to the city centre in about 20 minutes. And - the best of all - it's really cheap.
There were about four of us as it was just a guys trip for a short break, one of my mates booked the hotel, the hotel was situated in the middle of nowhere and was nowhere near to anything worth doing, we was falsely told that this place had a lot of things nearby and was really disappointed. The room lacked anything good for a budget place and I guess you get what you paid for. Service was atrocious as there wasn't any and the breakfast was non existent to be honest with you. The place was clean and that is about it nothing extravagant or appealing, we treated like a hostel instead. I am lost for words how awful this place was and we changed hotels later. I can’t recommend this place as it is middle of nowhere and it was hard to travel to any meaningful places.
I stayed there 9 nights.. Breakfast was really bad, there was no good choises for food, room was really bad, furnitures were very old, room was not clean.. there are 3 recepcionists. Just one of them was kind.
First of all this is not a hotel more like a hostel!!! On our arrival we were "greeted" by a very grumpy unhelpful staff and only info he gave us not to steel the room key (like u want to go back) as it will cost us 8000 hungarian Forint!!! In the room very dirty carpet we didn't take our shoes off,bed sheets seemed clean but the bed itself black greasy shiny!!! Everything worn and dated and so much noise coming through the windows. Bathroom looked the cleanest and the shower worked ok. This "hotel" is very cheap and it is true u get what u pay for but cleanliness is basic so we were overpriced on this occasion!!!! I won't ever return and l do not recommend this place to anyone!!!
Nice hotel located in a quiet and peaceful neighbourhood in the Northern suburbs of Budapest. The advantages of the hotel are: 1. There is a very cheap family room (4 persons) in the hotel. (There are 2 such rooms in the hotel, one of them has a working fridge, the other has not - in case you need such you have to ask in the lobby) 2. The hotel has a free parking although it is rather small, but the people from the lobby always support you in finding suitable place for your car 3. It has a direct train to the city centre just a few blocks (about 5 minutes walking) from the hotel. So it takes about 25 minutes to get to station just opposite the Parliament. 4. The hotel has basic but tasty breakfast However the hotel has some disadvantages: 1. It is located close to the busy road so it is little bit too noisy even during the night. 2. Though easy acceptable the centre is still far away - at least 30 min using public transport or 20 min by car (but please use this option only during the weekends since finding suitable free paring space in the centre of Budapest is a big headache) 3. One of the times I was there (I had been 3 times there since I use it for a middle stop for more distant car travellings) it was not perfectly clean (as I said - not perfectly clean, still the cleanness was not a major problem). The other 2 times I was there everything with the cleanness was ok. As a conclusion I can say that this is a perfectly reasonable hotel for not too pretentious travellers who come by car and are on a budget.
I was booked into this hotel by someone else and when i arrived i wondered if they hated me ! Its no wonder the taxi driver was non-committal when i asked what was it like ! It was just beyond belief, miles from the city centre, reception was a joke it was like someones front room, then i got to the room and i could have cried, the so called ''bed'' was about 12 inches off the floor and sewn together sheets to cover it, no drinks making facilities, the ancient tv was at a angle on the wall, the wardrobes, the floorcovering, the bathroom, the shower, so called curtains everything was horrible.....supposed to be a non smoking room but i think they meant nobody had had a cigarette in there in the last hour, it stank....... I tried to sleep on top of the bed i was fully clothed, i had no intention of gettin in......and never slept a wink ! i kept itching & scratching, just thinking of things really ! there were men and women outside in the corridor laughing & giggling, and smoking well into the early hours, the traffic noise was bad and sirens up and down what is a major road a few yards from the building.........It would make me cringe just walking past this place, i think Stalin is still hiding in there somewhere...........yuuuuuk ! I was up and out at 7ish without showering or anything and needless to say the people who booked me in were very apologetic and moved me to another hotel which was 100 times better and handy for everything in the city............Budapest is a lovely city and friendly people as i'm sure the staff at this ''hotel'' are..............
It took a long time say 90min for me to reach the hotel from the airport by airport shuttle bus. This hotel is situated out side the city and the nearest public transport is located 300m away from the hotel, which takes at least 15min to reach the city. Even though the price was cheap and the room were clean, I found they were not sound proof. I can hear the walking sound as well as sound when people from other room talk loudly or watch TV, which affected my sleep. The other side of my room is the high way and I hear the sound of the vehicles the whole night. The breakfast was good yet the plates and other cutlery's were pretty unclean. The consoling thing about this hotel are free high speed internet and friendly staff. I would recommend this hotel, only when you do not get any other place to stay in Budapest.
For the first and last time I booked a hotel without reading the reviews first. The booking site I used described the hotel as a well run, quiet, well located hotell. It is not. The location is off, very off, we had a car which took us to the city center in 25minutes... This thanks to it's "central location" just next to the highway. Trafficnoise was terrible, on the upside it was constantly cars/motorcycles travelling outside the windows, which gave it an even loud background noise. However after 1 a.m. traffic was not so intense, only something passing by every 20-30 seconds which made it even worse since you were only wondering when the next car would pass. In the small windows of calmness you could then hear all the dogs barking. Except from facing the highway, the hotell also faced the backside of a shopingmall. The backside of this shoppingmall was a waste dump attracting all the neighborhoods dogs in the night. When I, due to exhaustion, managed to fall into some sort of slumber I was soon woken up by the policecars and ambulances passing by with the sirens on. And, as if that was not enough, the cockroach passing over my pillow made me stay awake for the rest of the night. Just "for fun" we decided to have a look at the breakfast. By the look of it they don't expect people to eat there at all. We decided to have a cup of coffe, but realised our misstake and left. The problem with this place is not the location (you can always put in soundsilencing windows). The problem is that the owner(s) does not even try to make it a good stay. For instance, wherever you go in Hungary you're greated by a "Jo napot kivanok". In this place not. If there were some cleaning, it was really badly done. Broken furniture, naked light bulbs, the 70's carpets etc. all add to the handbook of how to not run a Hotell. The only positive thing I can think of was that it had a free wifi, that made it possible for us to book another hotell at 2.30 a.m. We had paid for two nights in advance, stayed one. Never coming back. If this was the only available hotell in all of Budapest you're probably better off sleeping on a bench in a park.
