Conveniently located downtown, within easy walk or short ride to landmarks. Staff was very accommodating at all times. I will consider this hotel as a place to stay during future trips to the Boston area.

Hotel Ames is centrally located to many shiops, restaurants, and bars. The room was large and had a good view. Would def stay here again!

We arrived relatively late at night and they were very accommodating. We got a 4th floor room that faces the same side as the front of the hotel, the staff warned us and apologized for it and offered to swap the room for us if we would like to. I really wasn't bothered by it since my wife and I are very heavy sleepers. We had a slight issue w/ the shower knob not holding the shower head in place, after I dropped by to ask if they can fix it, they sent someone up immediately and it was solved very quickly. They even comped us breakfast for the entire stay which was also really nice of them. We were always informed of things that happen in the hotel (like the restaurant being closed on the 4th of July, and the fire alarm that went off during the day) The one thing I did not like was the pillows, but this seems to be common for a lot of hotels to use extremely soft pillows. I had to pack the pillows tighter around my head to get the support for my neck that I needed, but the room was comfortable enough. All in all, I would love to come back here again.

Outstanding! Lovely hotel in fantastic location across from Old State House and Faneuil Hall. Beautiful decor. Helpful concierge. A+

Nor'easyer #3 in Bosotn. Stranded at hotel. Staff great...all was up and working well. Thank you.

I traveled alone with three kids and the hotel staff was so accommodating. A pack and play and fridge was already in the room. For parents with young kids you must request a room with a tub. We also got a room that was pretty isolated so late night cries wouldn’t bother anyone. The train station is across the street. Fanuiel Hall and the old State house is within steps. Also, there’s a Starbucks super close for early morning coffee. I really enjoyed my stay there and will definitely stay here again when we return to Boston

Hotel was conveniently located for Blue and Green Lines, also near Faneuil Hall and Haymarket, room was very clean, nice bed, good shower. Beautiful historic building.

Be aware this is a Boutique hotel. no morning room service. Bathtub had a very high ledge that made it very difficult to get into.

Great architecture. Great location. Historic building right downtown.

Staff were friendly from the moment we arrived. We arrived early, after a red-eye and they invited us to eat breakfast and let us have our room shortly thereafter. Room was beautiful, very modern and European-feeling. We had a view of the old state house. Valet parking was super-convenient.

We were in town for a few days after attending commencement. We found this hotel on Orbitz at a competitive price with a pretty good location. It's right across the street from the Old State House and T station; a stone's throw from Quincy Market, a 10 minute walk to the water front/North End. Very convenient to get to/from the airport. I did almost walked right pass the hotel due to its unnoticeable entrance. Once we walked in, I wondered if we walked in the side or back because the lobby is about the size of a standard hotel room with 2 podiums to the side. It's in an old historic building so I understand it's built small. The room decor was modern and has all the amenities. We had an early start the first day and walked all over town in the cold rain. So by early afternoon we were tired and wanted to get back to the room for a nap. It was 2:00 and the cleaning staff was just getting to our room. So we headed down to get a bite. After a half an hour we were ready to take that nap. But it seems the hotel was not conducive to napping. Even though we had the corner room with no neighbors, there was a lot of noise that kept us up: people talking (maybe down the hall neighbors), doors banging, what seems to be furniture moving scrapping the floor. All in all, the hotel was a good deal. The staff was very courteous. The hotel provide complementary bike rentals that we took advantage of to visit Cambridge.

I was never told the hotel was under construction when I booked the reservation. The main restaurant and bar was closed. The room rates should have been reduced accordingly, but they were not. Room was OK but towels were stingy for a classy hotel. Housekeeping staff did not show up until 3 PM or so each day. Overall, nice place but not worth the money. I will go elsewhere on future stays. Ideal location, terrific staff, modern and clean room. We will stay here again for sure!

Staff was friendly and location was very convenient. Part of the facilities were under renovation, e.g. kitchen and lobby. However , it didn't appear the carpet in the room had been vacuumed before our visit. The noise level was moderate given location.

Excellent location in Downtown Boston. Easy to get around.

Ames Boston Hotel is a hip, botique-style hotel in the middle of downtown Boston. I've seen minimalist used to describe the room decor. I guess that's true, but the hotel had all the items I'd expect in a 4-star property. I liked the hardwood floors in the guestrooms -- I just think they add to the cleanliness.Be sure to notice the mirrors as you get off the elevator ... there is a hidden hologram inside them! I'd certainly recommend the Ames Boston Hotel. Someday, I may even be cool enough to fit in!
