Good location for the money. Friendly staff. If you don't mind a common bathroom it's a great value.
Lovely, simple property in the heart of Back Bay. It was the perfect location and ideal facility for my trip. Lovely people. Exceptional continental breakfast. Comfortable.
Not a fancy place, but very clean and a great continental breakfast buffet. Was perfect for my purpose, attending a conference in the nearby Hynes Conference Center and not caring too much about size of room and amenities.
I am new to staying in big cities, so $250 a night without parking for essentially a dorm room took a lot to get used to. There is no AC, as advertised, so one's only option is to open the window for cool air, but there is a fire escape landing outside our window, plus the noise from slamming doors or trash bins, deterred us from opening the window. The place was close to the place we wanted to visit, had a better than expected continental breakfast, patient and helpful staff, etc,, so they probably made the best of the situation. Boston refused them a loading and unloading zone in front of the building, so getting our bags and such out of the car and back was mildly traumatic (we double parked and then parked illegally to unload, loading was easier). For people used to staying in big cities, it was probably all very good and just what they would expect if they want to pay less than $300 a night.
It was perfect for us, great location and price. Walking distance from restaurants, shops, and the T. Quiet.
Good location, small but convenient room, friendly staff
Small and quiet, the neighborhood was close to many of the amenities of Boston
Friendly responsive staff and close to Fenway and the Green Line.
It was clean and comfortable. Staff was friendly. Overall a good experience.
Quiet, clean room, friendly service, nice location. Couldn’t ask for more.
The location was absolutely perfect for my quick trip to the Back Bay. I was planning to go to a concert at Jordan Hall Sunday afternoon--and then I found out that there was another opera scheduled for Saturday evening, in the next street from the hotel, at the Berklee Conservatory! I am also deeply grateful to the manager, who was accommodating, kind, and really fun in conversation. Thanks!
We've stayed at the Oasis Guest house several times on trips to Boston. It is an excellent alternative to higher priced hotels. The rooms are small but sufficient, bathroom and shower are very small. Great breakfast bar had a good number of choices. The neighborhood was very quiet! Excellent location, walking distance to the Hynes Convention Center, Copley Square, Trinity Church, the Boston Public Library to the east and the Museum of Fine Arts and the Isabella Stuart Gardner museum to the west.
The location is convenient to the Hynes convention center, just a few blocks away. The staff was super accommodating and let me use the parking space for an extra half day at no extra charge! I'll definitely look to stay here again next time I'm in the area for business.
The place is very clean and the first desk is friendly. The included continental breakfast is much better than you regular "continental breakfast" at less expensive hotels or motels and has a good set of options. The rooms and infrastructure are a little older but clean. The main issue for me was the walls are slightly thinner than other places I've been, so some noises do travel (especially water pipes) and I happen to be a lighter sleeper. Overall, very pleased though.

Thank you for your rating and feedback Gregory. We hope that when you made your booking you looked at the room sizes, details and photos, as we want all guests to do so they can make an informed decision about room selection. The truth is, in Boston, average rates can be in the $400 range an up, so the room rate you received is quite competitive. We want all guests to know that up front. As for AC, we do provide central AC, as noted in your booking and communications we sent you. However, with temperatures in the upper 60's and barely 70, it makes no sense for us to run the AC. It's very costly, and increases our costs, and yours. Regarding loading zones, we simply do not qualify for one, and Boston is a small city with challenges for parking everywhere. We encourage guests to park their car first, and then arrive with luggage to avoid luggage/loading zone issues. For guests with lots of luggage, we are not the right choice of property, and we do our best to communicate that to guests in advance. We realize that some guests may not read all communications. We thank you again, and we hope that other readers of this review may gather some insights and make the best decision for themselves as to whether we are the right choice for them. Thank you.
