Easy check in with friendly staff. Beds were the most comfortable beds we have ever slept on at any hotel. Temperature control was great 😊 Breakfast had a big variety and check out was super easy.

Check in was quick & front desk associate was nice. Our room smelled like smoke. We opened the curtains to see our view & there was an empty to go drink cup & ashes all over the sill. There was a lighter on the floor under the window. Bathroom was dirty. There was toothpaste or lotion on the mirror frame, hair in the shower, & dust all over the shelves. You could see where the previous guest had their HBA items on the shelf as there were dust rings & it was clearly not cleaned or wiped down at all. There was a lightbulb burned out in the bathroom. I took pictures to show the front desk & they moved us to another room. The new room was better although still dusty, messily made beds, & a lightbulb burned out in bathroom. The tub needs new caulk, a good bleaching, & a new inner shower liner as there were stains & little black spots on it. We’re wondering if the burned out lightbulbs in both bathrooms were purely coincidental or on purpose so you couldn’t see the lack of cleanliness. To top it all off, the hotel staff was knocking on doors to see if guests were still in their rooms at 7:30AM! While we were up & getting ready, there were several unhappy guests being woken up. They claimed there was an issue with their computers, so they were just seeing who was still in their rooms...at 7:30AM! By the lack of cleanliness of our rooms, I highly doubt there was any extra cleaning & sanitizing going on due to Covid. Hotel is close to restaurants & shopping.

First, the check-in staff was very nice. The breakfast staff was also very nice. The room was bad. The walls were dirty (spilled coffee? near the bathroom, mystery spots on the wall near the toilet...) The headboard was large and somewhat shiny, so you could see spots and hand prints. Just gross. The lights were TERRIBLE. They’re using energy saving LED bulbs, but they give bright white like blueish light so it was like being in a hospital exam room. It was so bad, we went to the store an bought some light bulbs to switch out the bedside lamps. The bathroom lights were equally bad. We had a few other incidents with our room, remotes, locks, etc. We were only there a few days, but everyday it was something. In all, we’ve stayed a Best Westerns a few times and always had mixed results. This was the worst experience we’ve had with any hotel in a long time. It has totally turned us off from Best Western. We won't be booking Best Western again. At check in, the staff had informed us they were full and there were no other rooms available. In hindsight, that was probably a preemptive.
Rooms were much larger than expected, looks like improvements were made to decor! Plenty of room for s family of 5!!
Hotel needs more comfortable beds. Toaster was broken for breakfast. Staff new that but left it there for guests to figure it on on their own. But it was included with the room so I guess that did not matter?
Staff was pleasant and helpful. We came to attend a wedding and the online description was accurate. Two queen beds was wonderful!
The three of us booked a non-smoking room with one king size bed for one night. The room seems very newly-renovated and looks very modern. We are happy with the size and the amenities provided. The TV remote is sanitized, and this is something often overlooked by other hotels. The TV is pretty big and HD - good for some entertainment before sleeping. Best of all is the free breakfast in the morning. The breakfast is comparable to something you would pay at least $10 for in a breakfast place. The staff checks on the food and refills them every few minutes. We really appreciated the great breakfast from there before our next long drive.
The stay was great and peaceful. My room was by the elevator which I thought would bother my rest but surprising it did not once I feel asleep.
Remodeled. New carpet, fresh paint. Excellent breakfast buffet with some fresh, hot items. Excellent hotel, staff and a fantastic stay.
Recently renovated but the stench of an old smelly outdated hotel still remains no matter how much paint or new carpet there is. Sheets were rough and uncomfortable. Could only stomach to stay 1 night. Breakfast was terrible compared to similar hotels like Hampton Inn and Hyatt Place. Front desk was nice and friendly. Check in was fast.
We were not informed that The hotel was being remodeled and there was debris in the hallways that was never cleaned up! There was never any hot water and we had a very big group traveling and we travel quite often to this area. We will not recommend this hotel to anyone and we will not stay there again. Complaining to the hotel staff fell on deaf ears, incredibly disappointing!
Hotel was going thru tons of renovations during our stay. Front desk and breakfast staff were wonderful. Housekeeping however... first morning we were there they were beating on my door at 8am! I kindly told them I didn't need anything and thanked them. As I went to shut the door, the woman pushed it back open and stood for 5 minutes (with my door open) and told me they were bringing me a new towel. Don't mind that, just thought it was rude and unprofessional to knock on a guests door at 8am. I was still asleep. The next morning, I left to go down and grab breakfast in the lobby and was gone 5 minutes and the housekeeping staff had been in my room (I was checking out at 10am)! They had taken all the towels, moved all my makeup and jewelry around, and emptied my trash. I've never stayed anywhere where staff touched and moved my things around. Hotel was nice, was a little loud with the hammering and banging going on, but was nice and felt safe.
Upon arriving at the Wingate I was pleasantly pleased with the location and curb appeal, however upon entering the Hotel I was very disappointed. They were undergoing a renovation and we were not alerted to this prior to the confirmation of the Hotel. Although the Staff was very friendly, I was very disappointed with the cleaning staff. We stayed at the Wingate for 5 days, our trash was emptied, but everything else was left untouched. Towels were not replaced, the beds were not made and coffee/tea supplies were not replaced. The renovation process was very noisy and we ended up going to another floor just to get ice or drinks. Toward the end of my stay Staff members continued to knock on my door after I informed them that I was leaving out at check-out time. This could have been a better stay and I hope that once renovations are complete the staffmembers and the Wingate hotel executives play closer attention to guest service.
