Good location, good manager and staff. Whatever you need there is some one in the office to help.Clean room and decent furnishings. clean onsite laundry room. The frig and stove are in very good condition.
this is the worst hotel ever less than 12 hours my car was hit in parking lot no camers outside a guest dog bit me in 2 weeks no one has cleaned my room or changed my sheets on bed guest having argument in hallway woke me up nobody at front desk unless you call to get someone to show up this place is terrible my bed is so worn out its like sleeping in pudding DO NOT COME HERE you will do better to go to a homeless shelter don't believe any reviews that give more than 1 star if i could i would give no stars i have been locked out of my room because they did give enough days on my key card this place sucks
The front desk was very helpful maintenance was awesome. They are pet friendly but the cost is outrageous, cleaning , clean towels and sheets are xtra charge. So the cheep rate you get is off set by that. They are easy to work with and the place is quiet and clean.
I was relocating from another state, was waiting for my home to be finished. I chose this location because I had stayed at another location in Alfaretta, GA on business, and I had a very positive experience. I had read the reviews on this location and was a little troubled, but decided to give them a try. I was very pleased. They were clean, convenient, and the staff was very nice, and professional. I stayed 3 weeks until my home was ready to move into, and then when I checked out. The staff was very kind and thanked me for my business. You don't get that anymore! I would stay again.
It was a hotel. It seems people love complaining for the sake of it or because they feel important. This is generally an extended stay hotel but they open up for short stay when there are events. We stayed for one night for a concert. The staff is really nice. It had a fridge, microwave, stove, and really efficient AC. I did not see any roaches. It was a room. I don't know what people expect.
Roaches in the lower floors, cigarette smoke and dust in the upper floors, for someone like me its a trap. I was deceived by the initial cleanliness of the rooms, and a convenient location. Some washing machines don't seem to work ,and my clothes did not smell fresh. Boy they need some serious pest control , and eliminate indoor smoking completely. The 3rd floor is 'reserved' for smokers, but smoke always finds its way into the 2nd and 4th floors- the AC intake ducts for 4th floor are right above the 3rd floor windows, and there are chances people smoke discreetly in other floors or the staircases. What's the point of an apparently clean room with good sunlight if you cant breathe properly due to all the second and third hand smoke . The blame falls on both the Value place chain and the city ( town) of Pelham. Staff is generally friendly , but moody sometimes. Also don't be surprised if you get additional unexplained charges out of the blue. Having few other affordable options , I did not have much of a choice. Then at 3 AM or 4 AM , a garbage pickup truck comes in whining with a nasty alarm sound completely ruining your sleep . No ice machine . DOnt expect a fitness center given its budget status. No bedside table lamp or hair dryer , i got my own. On a positive note , they do have a full size fridge , microwave and 2 burner stove kitchenette if you need to cook /reheat. Location provides convenient access to gas stations, restaurants , interstate 65 and the Oak Mountain state park and amphitheater.
Roaches everywhere. Drop from the cabinets when you open them, scurry out of the microwave, (my favorite) and walk across the walls morning noon and night. It got so bad that I kept my silverware and plates in zip lock bags. After about a month, finally had enough and complained. Was assured that it would be taken care of. They threw bait traps under the sink(great solution) & the problem got so bad, I had to leave for a much more expensive place to stay for this temporary job assignment. The hallways are covered in mud daily, house keeping is non existent beyond changing out linens and putting out new toilet paper. Not to mention it only happens every two weeks. Parking is terrible. The staff (who live there) take the up front spaces and you will most definitely get door dings because of all the construction workers who could give a crap about slamming a door into yours. The cable offering is a joke. Not even full basic cable. I stayed at this location for 3 months a few years ago and found it to be tolerable. Don't let the new sign and name fool you. This place is a dump and if you stay a while, one day you will get a notice of increase when you pay for a new week out of the blue. No explanation, no pre notice.
I have stayed at several of these throughout the country and some things are consistent while others, not so much. This one has been remodeled and changed to a woodspring suites, but the bad management is still here. From the looks of other reviews, this has been a problem here for a while. This company has potential, but has a history of poor upper management which ends up reflecting on the property as a whole. Joy, the current GM, needs some extensive training in manners and customer service. She is rude, condescending and unprofessional. Being the GM, it should be her job to be customer friendly, not customer rude.
Stayed here bacause I was attending a concert within walking distance. Did not expect luxury just clean and stocked. Ok it had a small kitchenette, but no ice and no ice machines in the hotel. No glasses or plastic cups. No phone in the room, I know most people have cells but really? 2 towels and 2 washcloths, that was it. No soap, no shampoo, no blow dryer and the shower curtain had holes in it. NO HOT WATER!!!!!! No internet unless you pay $10. 2 flat dead has been pillows.
Visit of august 2016. Visit was okay, staff that I met was very nice. Staff faxed paperwork for me with a smile. But I say hot water was not hot,(110 degrees) I had extra guests in my room (bugs) saw them the last two days of my stay. So I was not so happy.
