Clean room, friendly staff, walking distance to oak mountain amp.

The breakfast was excellent. The overall cleanliness of the room left a little to be desired, especially the linens and floors.

The check-in person was very nice, and the breakfast people the next morning were even nicer!

I reserved a room for 4 nights and tried to cancel my reservation 4 days prior to occupying it. With that much advance, I thought I might be charged for 1 night not for 4 nights. The Orbitz representative tried to intervene with the motel on my behalf. He was unsuccessful and apologized. A winter storm ravaged the lower Midwest, and, I imagine, many people’s travel plans were changed as mine were. I am surprised that a company with a good reputation, as Best Western has, would treat customers so poorly!

Had a guaranteed late check in 11/4. Was coming from Tuscaloosa. Arrived at hotel after midnight and was told there was only 1 room left but it wasn't cleaned. The front desk lady told us to wait in the lobby while she cleaned it. After 30 minutes she told us it was going to take longer than another 1/2 hour to clean and told us that she did have 1 other room that was clean but the A/C didn't work. This was room 308. She said she opened the window and thought it would be OK. I asked her if I decided to leave and go to another hotel would they reimburse me and she said that it wasn't up to the hotel but to the company we booked the room through, which was Orbitz. Well it didn't make any sense to find another hotel if we didn't know whether or not Orbitz would refund us, so we felt like we had to stay. We told her we'd take the room. At this time two men who also had a reservation checked in and were told that the room she was cleaning would be theird once she was done cleaning it. We then went to the room and found it to be very warm and humid. The humidity was 96%. We had to close the window because there was no screen on the window and several cockroaches were come in. We talked to the front desk lady and she told us the only thing she could do was offer is the use of a box fan.

This is a good solid hotel in a good location for business. We came to relax, and it was awesome.

The hotel was in a great location for us. We were close to each of the 4 fields we played on. The only negative is that it was two double beds and I wish they would upgrade to two queen beds. Boys enjoyed the breakfast. I was surprised (and a little disappointed) to see that there was a hotel that still offered smoking rooms. Our's was non-smoking but still had a bit of a cigarette odor. However, the staff was very helpful with that and once the air was turned on, it did go away. Overall, a pleasant stay.

We had a great visit, went to the Bama game, this took us away from traffic and still close enough. The front desk was great.

Finding the place was incredibly easy. Just off the interstate so easy to start back up the next day. The room was clean along with the rest of the hotel. There were a few spots here and there that weren't perfect i.e grouted corners, little dings here and there but I expect some of that with hotels. The breakfast was really good. People always complain about complimentary breakfast but of all the traveling I have done I have yet to find the place that has a free 5 course meal. This place was more that adequate and the food was really good. Eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, plus cereal toast and the like. Staff was very friendly. I would stay here again if I was ever heading this way.

The staff & management were A+. The breakfast was good. Didn't get a chance to get in the pool. Bathroom was clean. The windows opens for fresh air. Bed was firm.

Loved the free wi-fi and beakfast. Room was clean, much better than other cheap hotels but dont expect a fancy bedroom.

My family of 5 stayed one night recently. We were happy with the room. It was nice, clean, and quiet. The parking lot was very well lit. I had no worries walking in and out of the hotel at night and leaving my bags in the car overnight. The free breakfast was OK. Not great, but you can't beat the price. My only complaint was that the luggage carts were allowed to park in a way that obstructed the door at the base of the stairs. In a fire that would be a major obstruction. I informed the front desk about this. I'd happily stay here again the next time we pass through town.

The hotel itself was overall very clean and decent. I was pleased with the response of the front desk, but the hotel manager needs better relationship skills. I had an family emergency (Grandpa passed away) and needed to cut my trip short to return home immediately. I called the front desk and was politely informed, after she spoke to the manager, that I need to call the booking agency to initiate anything. I immediately called the booking agency, who placed me on hold to contact the manager of the hotel, and was informed the manager wasn't available to approve any changes. After I informed the booking agency the manager was there, they stayed on the phone (cell) while I went downstairs. Once I was at the front desk, the rep went straight to the manager's office and called him to come immediately. Finally, he came out, didn't talk to the booking agency rep who called the front desk again, and approved the change in plans. Afterwards, he tried to act innocent and polite, but I knew he intentionally ducked the phone calls. So I had to hold my comments to myself and get myself and my wife out of there as soon as I could, NOT to return again.

ripped off
