Stayed here for two nights (Fri & Sat) in September '17. The hotel was packed with refugees from Hurricane Irma, but it was never chaotic or too loud. The staff was extraordinarily welcoming and accommodating. My room had a comfortable king size bed, couch, and sturdy desk. Fast and reliable Wi-Fi is always important to me, and mine worked flawlessly for the duration of my stay. I was only about 15 minutes from where I needed to be in Downtown Huntsville, and there were tons of cool places right around the hotel. I hope to be back in Huntsville later this year, and look forward to staying at the Holiday Inn Research Park again!
Huntsville is a beautiful city and this hotel rests right in the heart of it. You can see all the NASA stuff nearby or go explore a fun college town. This hotel is within walking distance from a very lively and popping downtown area, but the breakfast was great which. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, no hiccups or hassle, so I really appreciate them doing that. the room were pretty extravagant for not that much coin. It had all the full amenities I needed, and then some. The restaurant is good inside, but the pool is AWESOME. One of those outdoor and then you can swim under a little bridge and it connects into the indoor pool. DOPE! Rooms were exceptionally clean, plenty of towels, nice tv, this will definitely be the place I stay when I return to Huntsville.
The hotel was in the mall parking lot. The mall is being torn down. The location was close to UAH. I was visiting my son. The hotel lounge was closed on July 4th. ☹️ The staff was nice. The room was clean except I had a huge wood bug on floor. It was moving slow but not dead yet. These are common in Alabama but creepy. I notified the staff & it was removed.
The only downside to this hotel was that they are doing a lot of construction in the area and it was a bit of a pain to navigate exiting and entering the property. Other than that I had an amazing stay. They have a restaurant on site that does breakfast, lunch, dinner, and even Sunday brunch. They have indoor and outdoor pools even though both were being cleaned during my stay. The restaurant / lounge also has entertainment a couple nights a week like karaoke and live music. They are conveniently located near stores and restaurants. Great staff that is friendly and helpful. If you get to visit this beautiful and vibrant city (the best one in Alabama in my humble opinion) this is a comfortable and convenient place to stay!
We will be back, no doubt! This was the most accommodating hotel we have ever stayed in. We asked for an early check in & a late check out, we got both. Both pools were awesome, location was quite & hot breakfast was an amazing breakfast buffet! All employees were eager to accommodate our needs/wants. Clean, comfortable, & perfect for our little family trip. If we have to go out of route to stay here again, we will!
We arrived in Huntsville early and called to see if we could check in a bit early. We were told our room would probably be ready two hours before our check-in time. We grabbed a bite of lunch and went to the hotel and we were able to check in at 1:30 rather than 3:00 which was especially helpful to us since we had to dress to go to a retirement dinner early that evening. We found our room and bed to be very clean and comfortable. We had everything we needed. The shower was a bit different with one door stationery and we ended up with water on the floor every time and the shower head didn't allow for much adjustment. The water was very hot and we had to be careful in setting temperature; the water pressure was good but we could only get a forceful stream of water rather than a good spray. Otherwise our stay was very nice. The complimentary breakfast offered a good selection of hot foods as well as fruit and pastries. The lady who was responsible for the breakfast buffet was very friendly and chatted with us and all the other guests. She made us feel as if we were visiting with her as her personal guests. The hotel was next door to Kroger with a fuel center and convenient to restaurants, shopping areas, and to the Redstone Arsenal where we attended a retirement ceremony for a family member. Our room was at the end of the hall on the first floor and near the end door which was very nice since it was pouring rain and we were able to park just outside that door to load and unload without getting soaked. Recommend Room 104 for convenience to entrance.
The hotel is bit older and is showing its age in many spots. This is one of those holiday inns that have the super firm mattresses - which is great if you like firm - but the sleep quality for me was not ideal. The internet speed clocked in at a somewhat mediocre 4-5 MBPS. With so many other locations coming in at ten times that speed it's just a little disappointing. Would I stay here again for a value price? Yes. Would I pay $150+ a night here if there was an alternative? No.
This hotel was very, very good to me and my crew. Whoever was working the front desk made sure we had whatever we needed which we appreciated immensely. It would be easy for a hotel like this to be status quo but we were really impressed with how above and beyond the went. Beds were comfortable, artwork in the hotel was nice, and the bathroom was roomy. Will be back!
Great Hotel, nice and quiet! I really enjoyed watching a great movie in the morning. Nice pool and bar area. Right off the interstate! Convenient to lots of shopping and great food! I would definitely stay here again!!
Great location with easy access. Outdated but comfortable beds, great housekeeping. Restaurant (bar & grill) wasn't good. Just had a burger but there is plenty of restaurants nearby. The outdoor pool they advertise as open year round isn't. But pleasant enough. I was here for business and would stay again.
