We researched this area on TA and found this GEM. Hotel staff was friendly and accommodating. Room was huge and clean. Breakfast was good as well. This brand moves to the top of our list for our family stays.
I was thoroughly pleased with my accommodations at this brand new, lovely hotel. If you are looking for an extremely clean, fresh, well-run business hotel for long term stays, it doesn't get better than this. Location: this hotel is located down the street from the beautiful Bridge Street outdoor mall. So, quality shopping, strolling, and many nice dining options are within walking distance. Hut the location is on a smaller street, away from the noise and crowds. Also for DAU or Resesrch Park companies, the location could not be more convenient. 2 minute drive to DAU door to door. Hotel Grounds: A beautiful salt water pool (with great outdoor furniture including fire pits, gas grills and string lights) faces a small lake. There is a lovely walking jogging trail around the hotel building and along the lake shore! These little touches make long term stays so much more enjoyable. I would enjoy the watching the geese at the lake in the evenings. Just beautiful. Home2 building: Just to clear up some confusion, this building holds Home2 suites on the right side and Hampton Inn on the left side. Amenities are joint. You may also eat breakfast on the Hampton side if you prefer. Amenities: The gym was very nice. Great equipment and very clean. The ONLY critique I have are the TVs in the gym only receive 3 or so channels (2 were horrible infomercials and the other channel showed black and white shows from the 1950's). Pretty annoying. Room: Very clean, bright, extremely spacious (my jaw dropped when I walked in). Housekeeping was EXCELLENT each and every day of my long term stay. Lots of desk space for working. Great sofa. Full size kitchen fridge, deep sink, dishwasher, and microwave, but no cooktop or oven which really limited cooking options. But the kitchen was really convenient. Staff was exceptionally friendly, helpful and kind on both sides of the hotel. GSA rates are usually available so if you're a government traveler, I think you'd never find a better hotel in the Huntsville area. STAY HERE!!
Room was great with plenty of space and nice furnishings, seemingly new. Nice kitchen area and pretty large refrigerator in the room along with microwave. I understand a cooking surface can be obtained for cooking. Breakfast bar was OK - microwaveable prepackaged foods, hard boiled eggs, cereal, breads, fruit, coffee and juice. Highlight for me is oatmeal for breakfast and some days it was substituted for sausage gravy (highlight for others), and some days it was grits, but there was always packaged oatmeal. Loved the "fixin's" for the oatmeal (cereal), nuts, fruit, cinnamon. Nice commercial toaster! Staff was friendly, breakfast bar staff cheerful and helpful. Chose this location due to closeness to Marshall Space Flight Center / Redstone Arsenal. Also close to Bridge Street and University Blvd for restaurants I'd stay here again.
We were there for 2 weeks. The hotel is very clean and the employees are very nice. We enjoyed seeing friendly faces every day, especially Gwen in the breakfast area, Keisha, and Mandi. I honestly can't remember all the names of the nice people! This was our second time staying here and we will stay again in the future. Great stay!
This hotel was clean, staff was very friendly and accommodating. Due to business I had to stay here for a month and a half. Some hotels are equipped for this type of business stay and some are not. I would put this one in the middle of that category. If you have ever had to stay at a hotel due to training or business for an extended time you know the value of having your own kitchen with accompanying tools. This hotel suite came with a fridge, microwave, dishwasher and sink and at the front desk you can sign out a hot plate with one frying type pan. This makes your options extremely limited on cooking your own food. Again, this hotel was great but I would only say that if you are staying a week or maybe two. Anything beyond that you might want to consider one of Hiltons other brands like Homewood suites. I am just reviewing now but actually stayed spring of 2016 but app would not allow me to go back that far.
The rooms were in great conditions. My family and I stayed in a KING w/pull out sofa. It was very spacious. We fit comfortably. I liked that there were all types of utensils and plates we could use. I loved having a larger fridge. The view of the lake was beautiful. The only thing that I was not satisfied with was the breakfast. I hated that everything had to be microwaved that is if you were not wanting just cereal or fruit.
Everything went well. Staying in same property next week. Glad I chose this property. I actually stayed here last year but stayed in the Hampton Inn section of the property. The Home Suites by Hilton turned out to be a good choice.
We had a great experience at Hampton Inn/Home2 Suites by Hilton. The facility was always clean and the staff was really helpful. One staff member stood out to us daily--Ms. Gwen took care of the breakfast every morning and she was so friendly to us and our children. She kept the area very clean and the breakfast trays were always full. Thank you ESPECIALLY to Ms. Gwen as well as the other staff members!!!
The hotel is very clean and the staff was very helpful. Our bed was comfortable and our beds were clean and pillows were firm. Anything we asked for we received with a smile and in a timely manner. The pool was clean and there was a housekeeper who always checked on us.
We go to Huntsville once a year for a religious convention, and have stayed at several different hotel chains. We like Home2Suites mainly because of the larger rooms and kitchen area, with an actual fridge and freezer. We bring our lunches for all three days of our convention so having enough space to keep things cold and the ice packs completely frozen is wonderful! This was our second time at Home2, and this year we stayed June 30-July 2. I had downloaded the Hilton Honors app which allowed me to check in ahead of our arrival, choose an arrival time, and-- BONUS-- choose our room locations! I loved that. We had a king room for myself and husband, and a two queen room for my friend and daughter, and were able to choose a bottom floor for the king room, which helps me due to health issues. Queen rooms are not available on the first floor. The room is incredibly spacious and accommodating. Everything you need is already there-- plates and silverware, cups and bowls, dishwashing soap, large over the counter microwave, extra paper towels. This time around we brought a crockpot, set it in the morning and our meal was ready when we got back from our day! Easy and cheaper than going out =) Our room had just been cleaned when we arrived, and there was that distinct odor from an unclean vacuum. You know that funky, hot-dust kinda smell? It definitely needed to be sanitized or retired! I always bring Lysol spray with me, so I just sprizted the carpeting and that helped. Our bathroom had a stall shower with a sliding glass door, very nice and helpful. The counter is granite and the sink is HUGE, and the height is raised which my tall husband loved! Everything was spotless and fresh, towels are thick and didn't have too bad of a chemical smell. Cute amenities like mouthwash and makeup wipes. Lots of storage space on the shelves and two drawers. Here's the biggest downside- the pillows. They looked and felt as though they were 10 years old!! We got the extra ones from the cabinet under the TV, but they were yellowed and just felt gross. I called and got a couple fresh ones from the front desk, but those were the same quality, just cleaner. I informed the clerk as we were checking out so hopefully she let the manager know. The large window has a pull down shade on tracks. Its great for blocking out almost all the light. The staff here is very friendly and helpful. They are attentive to the guests needs and really try to make the stay pleasant. We also utilized the outdoor fire pit area by the pool. It was a nice way to relax and visit with friends. This hotel is connected to a Hampton Inn, and they allow guests to use both breakfast areas. This was helpful because the Home2 has only limited to-go style breakfast while the Hampton has full service -- eggs, sausage, waffles, etc. Both had super hot and delicious coffee available 24/7. The lobby is also quite large and some people were there in the evening playing cards with their friends. Plenty of room to hang out! The free wi-fi is pretty slow, so we upgraded to the premium but still felt it wasn't that great. Overall, a very nice place to stay, especially families. The extra space and in-room kitchen is so handy. I highly recommend Home2 and will plan to return next year!
