We stayed at this hotel for 22 nights between Thanksgiving and Christmas. The front desk staff where friendly and helpful. Ms. Kat always greeted me smiling and used my name. She was very helpful with any questions we had regarding the hotel or the area. She made us feel at home. The room was clean, spacious, quiet, and comfortable. The bed was very comfortable and the room had a full-size refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot and a two burner stove top. It also had place settings for three. Wifi was easy to get on and fast. Breakfast was very good and had many options. There were scrambled eggs, waffles, muffins, bagels, and breakfast meat each morning. There are also cereal, yogurt, and fruit. Nita and Versie were also friendly and made sure nothing ran low. The evening snacks and drinks were nice. The dining area is very large with TV’s and a fire place. The house keepers did a great job. Jenifer keep the room spotless and restocked everything each day. She was very helpful with any request. They moved up and down the hall quietly. The hotel also has a pool and hot tub along with a basketball court outside. The pool and hot tub has a mechanical chair so that guess with handicaps can still enjoy them. There is also a sitting area with a fire pit and grill for guest to use. There area around the hotel had plenty of restaurants and stores close. There is a strip mall and a target just across the street. Wal-Mart is just down the street. I would recommend and stay at this hotel again.
A group was in town for a last minute trip. We booked online via the Marriott app. When we arrived there was a slight hiccup with the room type. Marco went above and beyond resolving the issue. Often times folks get locked in on the issue. Marco locked in on a solution and was diligent in making sure we were taken care of. Thanks Marco!
I travel to Huntsville often for business and I like staying here. Why I like it: good location, easy to get to work, easy to get to restaurants. Rooms are nice, staff are nice, I like the little workout room and they always have eggs and salsa for breakfast. When I showed up a little early to check in, my room wasn’t ready so Kat upgraded me and put me in a one bedroom suite so I could get in my room right away. I am also sad to say that I slept better in their beds than I do at home... their pillows are amazing. What could be improved? Not much really. I feel I received my money’s worth from this hotel .
If you don't want the "cotton field" scenic view, put in your GPS to stick to major federal highways. (we were traveling I-65 south and it put us on state highway 31 for 81 miles. The hotel is closer to I-565). The U.S. Space and Rocket Center was not that far away. The staff was attentive. The room had a full refrigerator with microwave and stove top if you wanted to cook in the room. Comfortable bed for our studio room. Just for passing through, it was a good stay.
My husband and I were pleasantly surprised at the Residence Inn in Huntsville, AL. Our suite was so comfortable and we were so happy to have a refrigerator and microwave in our room. Plus, our suite was very spacious. We now plan to stay at other Residence Inns while traveling. Thanks again for a great stay!
First, I am a current Marriott platinum member. Second, the vast majority of my reviews have been very positive. Unfortunately, this one is not. This property puts the "C" in "cheap." Let me count the ways. First, there was no welcome other than "do you want points or something from the market?" I don't expect a shoe shine or red carpet but some acknowledgement (or even a small gift item) is the norm for Marriott hotels for platinum members. Room service was lacking. I leave a $2 tip daily and expect just basic service. What did I get on day 1? I did NOT get the shampoos and soaps refilled. Plus, I did not even get fresh washcloths. Sorta disappointing when you have to ask for a common item that should be replaced. TV? OK, but they have only the basic cable channels. Newspaper? Typically, Marriotts have USA Today or a local paper. Something. This place? Nothing. I was told by the front desk that "most people get their paper via internet." Really? I am a "techie" and like to actually hold a paper once in a while. As for the room, the toilet paper is the cheapest single ply you can buy. I expect better at a Marriott. The toilet took 2 minutes and 27 seconds to complete the simple flush cycle. I thought something was wrong. Nope. Just very old outdated equipment that every other hotel I've been in has replaced. The "snack" or dinner bar on Monday was anemic. This was so bad, only a herd of starving rabbits could appreciate. Getting the trend, here? Cheap? Charge a lot, and give the minimum. That does a lot for the profit margin, but nothing for the customer. Overall, a huge disappointment for a Marriott property. Not recommended.
We arrived around 9pm. The front desk staff was attentive. However with renovation, the side door closest to our room was unsecured. After a long drive, we didn't want to get up early but the renovations started at 8am. Kind of early in a Sunday. Breakfast was picked over. Not sure we would stay again even though we like the 2 bedroom suites of Residence Inn.
Foremost I have to recognize the staff at this hotel. They're prompt and very helpful when handling requests. My room was clean, all the appliances worked, the wifi was fast and easy to get on. I asked for a new coffee pot and a fan for the room, and had it within minutes, no questions asked. The staff received and gave me my incoming mail with no problems. I had issues with my credit cards, they fixed it all with no hassle. I stay at a lot of hotels for work, and this one seems to be next to everything. Stores, restaurants, attractions are all within a few miles. It's been rare to see so many things to do in one location. I'm looking forward to staying here again, and would recommend it for anyone.
This hotel staff was awesome. Tchelinda went out of her way to make a last minute change to my reservation due to a change in my itinerary. As I was in the middle of traveling and frantic, she was calming and reassuring. My changes were seamless to my wife and father-in-law. All three days and nights, the front desk ladies were always there to greet you and smile. The ultimate experience and person was Nita. Nita set up the morning breakfast, made it run perfectly and best yet, was simply the best tour guide of Huntsville and gave the best advice. I actually sat with her and her partner in the kitchen, Sam, as they were taking a break and she helped map out my Southern eating quest of the best of the best. Her recommendations were dead on and they came with the full backing of Sam. The hospitality of those two women, along with their kind and gentle spirits, is a true blessing to anyone they meet.
Lights in the dark parking lot were not on due to the timer not set correctly. Asked several times to have this corrected. Finally got them on earlier but still went off too early in the morning so it was dark when we got up each day to leave for our business. Poor security and safety. Found rear door which is supposed to be secured propped open, and observed suspicious activity by several males in parking lot, which was dark at the time. Marriott Rewards profile says request extra towels and we got ONE washcloth and no extra towels. The attention to detail at this location could be greatly improved. Cross this off the list of places to stay, plenty of other nice places nearby.
