Even though it was under renovation the Lobby was nice and clean. Brittni checked us in and was very pleasant every time we saw her. She always had a smile on her face and was very accommodating to us.
The young gentleman at the front desk was the most kind & courteous front desk staff I've encountered while travelling. He was very helpful and accomodating to my needs. The hotel itself is in nice shape and extremely clean. There wasn't a speck of dust or grime in my room. It's currently under construction but that was not a bother of any type. The lobby is open, modern, well-lit and well-appointed. Renovated guest rooms are also very nice with electrical plugs everywhere. Rooms even have outlets next to beds that accept a USB cord directly! It was a worthy surprise. Bathrooms were also very nice and spacious. Again, the staff is very nice and accommodating--particularly the young gentleman. I had an issue with very noisy neighbors and after a call didn't quiet them down, I was placed in another room without question. I greatly appreciated this. The only thing that kept this hotel from getting 5-stars was an issue with the shower's water supply. It alternated between freezing cold and very hot during a shower. This happened on & off a couple of times but was an overall minor annoyance. Breakfast was also hot, fresh & plentiful. Choice Hotels tend to be a fantastic bargain for the money and this property doesn't disappoint. I'd definitely stay here again. It's a fantastic value with great rooms and a great staff.
LIst includes not knowing it was under renovation when booking, hammers pounding until 7 PM, no water in the aftrernoon when returning and needing a shower, (no commode use either), no drain stopper in the tub to take a bath at night (front desk suggested a washrag or inverted plastic cup held over the drain, warm soda in the lobby machine...just a really lousy stay.
My daughter, I and small dog had an awesome stay! Breakfast was included and included breakfast meats, eggs, and pastries. Brittany at the front desk was extra helpful and even recommended some great places to eat.
I have mixed feelings on my stay at this hotel; the location was ok for us in wanting to visit the neighboring areas, mostly Ithaca. Check in took a little longer than usually for me, and the same can be said for the individual ahead of me I was waiting on. The font desk staff were cordial enough, but left a little bit to be desired. While I had reserved a King room, I was given 2 double beds. We had arrived late and I had forgotten what I had reserved; the next morning I checked and noticed the error, but I was content to stay in this room although it was not ideal. The hotel at the time of this writing was under construction, but in fairness, other than seeing some construction material in what was the vending area on the 4th floor, you would never know. We didn't hear any noise or see any work being done while we were there. Our room with 2 double beds seemed a bit strange. The two beds were about 5 feet apart, with one night stand in between that was about 1 foot and a half wide, so you do the math. My wife and I slept in separate beds as with me being 6'3" left little room for her in the full size bed. One bed was right on top of the floor level air conditioner, so I needed to set up a barrier of pillows to deflect the air coming out. The room was basically nice enough, clean, and functional as was the lobby and breakfast area. I would say if the price suits you to give this place a chance, I think it has potential, we just had a little rough stay, but not a horrible one. On our last night there, the area suffered a blackout for some 3 hours, and no mention of it on checkout or anything; they didn't ask "how was your stay?" which I find fewer and fewer hotels are asking anymore. I guess they are afraid of what they might hear.
It was very clean and had modern updates. I loved that the foyer and dining room are at the entrance of the hotel. It is very bright, with lots of light and plenty of room. We spent a lot of time having a family reunion during the day and evening. The manager was very friendly and helpful. Ir was a good value for the cost.
Awful night. No sleep The lobby appearance make you believe this will be a good place to stay. Not! The ac made a noise like a truck engine, just as you fall asleep it starts up again. On top of that the sheets were sticky! And the mattress pad moved - I realized in the am that the cause was a plastic cover on the mattress. The breakfast was good and the breakfast staff was very nice. Note my husband slept, but he also likes camping. I spoke to the assistant manager in the am, she apologized but offered no refund or discount. This is by first ever one star rating.
We have stayed here a couple of other times on our annual trip back to Canada from our Florida winter home. It is still a good place to stop over. Quite but close to the highway. The breakfast which is included in the room fee is quite good and gets us off to a quick and easy start on the road in the morning. Facilities in the room are quite good and the room was clean and well appointed. Recommended as a stop-over if southern New York state fits your travel schedule. Good restaurant on the corner 3 blocks north up the road
We chose this hotel for an overnight while en route from Toronto to Long island based on Trip Advisor reviews and proximity to the highway. I was not disappointed with the cost / value equation. While the hotel was under renovation, this was well noted in advance. The staff was very helpful and all was in order for our arrival (i.e. a pet friendly room and a second room for my mother-in-law). The staff was very helpful in recommending a restaurant for dinner and very helpful at breakfast the next morning. We would definitely come back if the need arose.
We used our Choice Hotels points for a free room. We had one of the newly remodeled rooms on the 4th floor. The workers were still completing other rooms. They finished work and were gone before we got back from dinner. The room was nice, had all the amenities one would want, and was clean and comfortable. The Wifi worked well. We had a fridge and microwave as well. Breakfast was good.
