Great hotel, very up dated and clean. Had a pop corn & snow cone machine along with choc. chip cookies which was a big hit with my son. The room has a DVD player and they have complimentary dvds to barrow. Hot breakfast options including waffles, eggs and turkey sausage and the regular items. One side of the hotel has a Apple bees and the other side had a Crackle Barrel, easy to walk to. Gas station right down the street and just off rt 81.
When we arrived there was garbage overflowing from all the outside trash bins. This should have been our first clue. When I mentioned it politely to the lobby staff she seemed to not care and didn't really say anything. The hotel was generally ok but the staff wasn't very helpful or nice and the place needed a really good deep cleaning. The pool surface was brownish and the tiled pool area floor was very dirty with sand and mud!? Our room was ok but the bathtub could have used a good scrubbing. I definitely agree with the review about the bathroom being incredibly small. Bath time was very challenging with two children. It was quiet at night and the beds were comfortable. The breakfast was slightly edible but the whole area could have used a good cleansing. There were bits of food all over the counter and the containers for the oatmeal toppings were really crusty and sticky. The lady in charge of the breakfast area was more interested in watching tv and talking with the front desk lady. Overall the hotel is ok but if you have another option I would stay somewhere else.
We arrived shortly after our 4 pm check-in time. Quick and friendly check in, with warm cookies in the lobby area was a nice plus. The hotel has a nice updated look, and our kids enjoyed the pool. Room was a little small, but our bathroom was tiny. When in the bathroom, you couldn't open the door to exit without, positioning yourself between the toilet and vanity. The clearance between the door and toilet was about 2 inches. This would up becoming problematic during our stay, when trying to get my small children out of the shower as well. Not sure if all rooms are set up this way, but it was really annoying. Would stay again otherwise, so in the future I would check with the front desk to see if there are rooms with a different layout. In addition, the area experienced a power outage during our stay, and the front desk was helpful, providing guests with flashlights and bottled water.
We had a very pleasant stay. The room was clean and comfortable. The hotel was quiet. We had a complimentary breakfast with a nice variety of breakfast foods. It was very conveniently located right of the Interstate however the downside was that we could hear the traffic. I would stay again.
Really nice medium sized hotel. The design of the hotel lobby and room is modern while elegant. In fact this is the nicest Fairfield Inn & Suites we have seen in years. The room and bathroom were large, spacious and clean. Sleep quality was good. The room has a fridge and a microwave which was very convenient. Customer service was good, in fact when we arrived late at night Bea was at the front desk and she was great, she was helpful and friendly and really exemplified what customer service should be like. The breakfast buffet had many options and was tasty. The location was very convenient, close to the highway so we can drive to anywhere. We had an 8 hour trip and we decided to stop half-way through, and when we originally read the reviews we weren’t sure if to choose the hotel or not but after staying the night there we’re absolutely sure we will return to this hotel as the stay was very pleasant and if we’re in the area again we will return here for sure.
This hotel is either brand new or recently renovated because it has a sparkling new look. (Example: The carpeting shows no wear and is very clean.) The rooms are the quality I expect from a Marriott-branded hotel. We travelled from our home in Connecticut to Niagara Falls, Ontario, staying at four Marriott hotels. By far, this was the best. If I must invent a complaint, the bathroom was small.
We have often stayed here as it is right off I/81 and has 2 restaurants in walking distance. There is also a gas station right at the entrance /exit of I-81. The hotel is fine. The rooms are clean and the beds comfortable. It's not fancy but it's not expensive either. The parking is convenient and there is a Cracker Barrel and an Applebees right next to it. Again, not fine dining but acceptable for a one night stop on a trip. My only complaint this visit was with the breakfast. Granted it was free but the eggs were tasteless--I'm guessing powdered --and the staff was one person who couldn't keep up with the traffic.
Very comfortable room and conveniently for meals with Cracker Barrel as one neighbour and Applebys as the other neighbour - Note that applebys had a 10% discount for Fairfield guests. In the morning, we woke up to see falling snow out the window and were very surprised and grateful to find that a staff member had cleared snow from the windows of all their guests vehicles. This has never happened at a hotel that we have stayed at before. A very nice start to our day. Many thanks to the Manager Kevin.
Over the past year, I have had the opportunity to stay at this hotel several times. I have been there so many times, that it was beginning to feel like my second home. Most of the time, I used my points. Once I paid and once I used a combination of money and points. I like that the number of points requested is always reasonable. They don't try to gouge you. I also like the fact that they offer a free hot breakfast. They had me at the waffles. The ladies working the breakfast service are friendly and accommodating, especially Tina. The rest of the staff is also very friendly, accommodating and customer service oriented. They go out of their way to assist you. Candace, Kristen and Kayla were very helpful to me and my family on several different occasions. They accommodated every request, no matter how unusual (at least to me) maybe not to them. I didn't get any of the housekeeper's names, but they did a good job and were very friendly and accommodating. I like the idea that there is continuity with the staff. It gives you a sense of comfort. The entire staff is very professional and should receive a commendation. The hotel is in a good location, near the highway and there are plenty of restaurants nearby, including Cracker Barrel and Appelbees are on either side of the hotel. Microwaves and refrigerators in rooms. Hot coffee and tea available all day and evening. Freshly made cookies weeknights. It's an excellent value.
Nice hotel and very pleasant staff! The rooms are very spacious with frig and microwave. The beds are small just doubles unless you get a king. But they are very comfy! The free breakfast is nice too!
