Location was great! Just on the outskirts of town, but still close enough to walk if you wanted, otherwise public transportation was very easy to navigate. The hot pool was we amazing! Perfect temperature. The only complaint I have was the tv, at night I wish there would have been better tv options or a smart tv to cast to, but then again you don’t usually go on vacation to sit around and watch tv!

Wonderful mountain views from the hot tubs, and select room balconies. Property is perfectly located. Works great for an easy 15-20 minute walk downtown, and a quick bus ride back, with the bus stop right outside the hotel. Friendly and efficient staff. Tasty baked goods and coffee, available for purchase just off the lobby. The on sight restaurant has limited but excellent choices, with both inside and outside seating. So nice to have easy access to downtown Banff, but to be out of the chaos of the town. Highly recommend.

We paid top dollar because of the time of year. Not worth the $$ based on my experience of luxury hotels. Room was large, great bathroom but bed and bedding was not up to standards. No smart TV which was shocking for brand new hotel in 2025. Outdoor furniture not very comfortable. We were in building C on 6th floor. 7th would be better view however our view over pool and hot tub was very good and only because we were at the end of hallway. It a lot of walking from the lobby to the different buildings. This might be an issue for some. The pool and hot tubs/fire pit all great. Sudden Sally good for happy hour not so much dinner. If you get a decent price, this hotel is a good choice. But at $800 not good value.

The bad: Well the first "mountain view" room they gave me was obstructed by the pool gazebo, and anyone walking around the upper pool could look right into your room. I immediately asked for a new room as this was unacceptable for a 650$ a night mountain view. They let me change rooms, which was appreciated. The room was fairly clean, there was gross gunk on the ceiling in the bathroom, the microwave cubby was very dusty. The outside cover on the air handing was falling off. The beds are extremely firm, if you are a side sleeper you will wake up sore. I was not impressed. The door let's so much light into the room at night it's rude. The thermostat also won't ever turn off so we ended up hanging a cloth over it so it wasn't so bright. The air handling points directly at the beds, so whoever sleeps next to it will wake up sick and dried out. There's very little adjustment to it. It feels like the design of this place was not very much thought out. It is not handicap friendly. None of the doors have buttons for handicap access, even though they have parking spots at each building. The good: The pools were great. The pressure of the jets was very good, very welcoming after a long day of hiking. The sauna was also well done. The parking was easy, although if you have a lifted vehicle at all. You'll be having a hard time finding parking. The mountain view is great, if you get a good room, it seems there are a handful that are "mountain view" that wouldnt be good.

The property is modern with a rustic vibe. Staff were pleasant and knowledgeable. Overall the hotel was just beautiful. Parking was easy and free. Room was clean with ample space. Location is a short drive away from Banff town. One especially nice part of the hotel was the restaurant next to the lobby, Sudden Sally. The coffee, pastries, and breakfast sandwiches were amazing. Every morning we would order food to go for the adventures for the day. The only negative experience we had was that we didn’t get to use the balcony as much as we wanted because the guests adjacent to our room kept smoking cigarettes and weed. But that’s not the hotel’s fault, so I won’t dock them for that.

Noisy and overpriced. If you're a light sleeper this hotel is no good. There's a constant loud noise from the HVAC systems which you can't escape from. I wouldn't stay there again because of it. Unlike the Pan Pacific in Vancouver which is really quiet in comparison

Cannot say enough about this place. Not the cheapest option but value can’t be beat. Easy access as you enter Banff. Used Brewster Express to avoid a car rental, so I can’t comment on parking. Quiet location with some amazing views and easy access to anything you need in town. Loved the balcony. Ride tickets for the bus (and amazing coffee) were nice perks. Staff were amazing and very accommodating. Absolutely intend to stay here when returning to Banff!

A beautiful hotel, located at the very end of Banff Avenue. The Canoe supply free tickets to use the Roam bus service, which can take you to various locations around the area, including Banff town centre and Sulphur Mountain, to name but a few. This is a really good idea, as we just left our hire car in the hotel underground car park, and used public transport throughout our stay. The check-in staff at the hotel were great. Very pleasant and helpful, even giving us fresh ground coffee to use in our room. Our room, on the fourth floor was very spacious, with a lovely bathroom and a powerful shower. Toiletries were supplied by Rocky Mountain, a local company. We both loved our stay at the Hotel Canoe and Suites, and would love to stay here again! One suggestion I have, is that the lights in the corridors outside the rooms, be dimmed in the evening, as they are very bright. I think some guests forgot that it was late, due to the brightness and we were disturbed a couple of times during the night by talking in the corridor. More down to the guests than the hotel, but just a thought! Thanks again to the Hotel Canoe for making our stay so enjoyable!

Beautiful facility. We experienced a constant strong sewer gas smell on the 3rd floor hallway by our room and the elevators were not working properly causing lots of anxiety. Otherwise it was a great location and our room was wonderful. The special room coffee was a great addition and delicious.
