Stayed one night here before heading north to the Bay Area. My family reserved a 2 bedroom suite with a king bed in each room. It was a standard Residence Inn complete with a full kitchen. There are lots of restaurants close to the hotel and well within walking distance if you're not in the mood to drive. Hotel is conveniently close to the highway but far from the noise. Breakfast was standard fare with scrambled eggs, sausage, waffle maker, oatmeal, and cold cereal. Generally, a good place to stay with family or with friends if you can share rooms appropriately.
Value for money! Good space in the rooms, include kitchen and sofa... the breakfast was really good... basics but good quality. We had a minor problem in the check in as we arrived late (12ish mid night) and the Sir in the reception didn't find the reservation we made through booking.com. So, we had to call the website to explain everything to the hotel. In my opinion, the person in the lobby didn't have enough experience with that type of booking and make loose about an hour there waiting. We were so tired and that it's why I gave one star less. The rest was absolutely great! And perhaps that incident, I'd recommend this place for sure...
Another positive stay at a Marriott property on this trip to California. Both were Residence Inns. This one is convenient to the major highway interchanges and just off California Avenue, a main drag. Close to downtown (1.5 miles) and Buck Owens' Crystal Palace. Staff are friendly and accommodating. Room was clean and fresh. Being that yesterday was 105 degrees (a record!), the pool in the middle of the afternoon was a nice respite. We had it to ourselves. Being a pool-user wherever I go, it was obvious they take care of the pool and maintain it. Water was pristine. Nice area under shade trees to relax with a patio where they barbecue at night and for socializing. While we were merely passing through and here for one night, I could see that this would be a great place for an extended stay.
We stayed at the Residence Inn only one night but during the night a train went thru a crossing nearby at least twice and let us know it. There was also a serious emergency that brought a number of emergency vehicles to the neighborhood. The room was fine but again, no separate bedroom and the mattress was not comfortable. All of the staff were excellent as usual with Marriott hotels. Breakfast was free and good. The waiter at breakfast was kept very busy and did an excellent job keeping everything stocked and the area clean.
A Marriott hotel with well appointed rooms. The restaurant was clean and the food was great. The staff was very attentive to customer needs. As a Marriott customer, I appreciated the consistency and the quality of service. I can honestly say this hotel exceeded my expectations to its fullest!
We stayed in a family suite for 3 days, visiting family in Bakersfield. The family suite comfortably fit all 6 of us. The rooms were clean, modern and had a beautiful kitchen. Breakfast was wonderful, except for the last morning. Everything was gone, including coffee, waffles, eggs and juice. The staff was able to replenish everything, but at a slow speed. We would definitely stay at the property again!
The room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. I would have felt better if the room had a safe in it (something I have come to expect in hotels). The staff was very friendly (as is usually the case at Marriott properties). This hotel had a great breakfast buffet and it was very conveniently located for the business trip I was on.
We are platinum Marriott members and stay about 100 nights a year...mostly at Marriott and mostly at Residence Inn. Had to do a week of business in Bakersfield so dialed up the Residence Inn and they did their usual great stay. Conveniently located and close to amenities. Just wanted to say that if you need to work. this Residence Inn had the largest desks I've ever had in a hotel! What a joy to be able to spread out and work instead of the smaller desks or having to use the kitchen tables to work at in other hotels. Wish they were all like this! Thanks Residence Inn!
Ample choice of food for breakfast, friendly staff, very comfortable beds, spacious rooms, newly renovated and clean. No need to stay in more up-scale hotels in Bakersfield. This hotel offers very good value.
We are Marriott brand people and find them consistent on point. This location was great. Friendly staff invited us to sit by fire pit. Room was clean and well stocked. Fitness center had nice working equipment. Best of all, free breakfast included gluten free options. REAL options in the form of cereals and bagels! Thank you Marriott!!!
