All the times I have stayed at a Residence Inn I have always got a really nice room. The room at this hotel was even better. A studio room with a full kitchen, bar area with 2 bar stools, a huge desk, comfortable king bed, and a very nice bathroom. The continental breakfast was very good. Even though there was a power outage in the area the crew kept right on replenishing breakfast items as best they could. The only thing that I would have liked was that the bathroom sinks actually be in the bathroom. I have run into this situation alot on my trip through Oregon, and California.
A good place for a one night stay. We were headed back to LA next morning and this was a perfectly good stopover. Clean, new feeling, nice pool, lots and lots of restaurants around the hotel, a free and nice breakfast in the morning and well equipped good sized rooms, all right off the interstate..
I was here only for one night on business. I had requested an upper floor away from noise, and the staff made certain to pick an appropriate room despite being fully booked. Check-in was a little slow, but the staff was friendly. My room was ample size and well kept. Furnishings were up to date, and everything was clean. My only room complaint would be the floor mounted door stop near the bathroom is a "toe killer" as it is right where you stand to access the closet. The complimentary breakfast was adequate, but fresh fruit was no where to be found. Unlike other places I have stayed, however, the plates were nice and warm so your hot food stays warm. In general the property was very well maintained, but the windows in the breakfast lounge area were extremely dirty. Perhaps I caught them on a bad day, but they were in stark contrast to everything else that was well maintained. I am selecting "no" for whether it has a tennis court, since it is not a full size court. I would definitely stay here again. Price was reasonable, location was optimal for me, and it is close to a number of restaurant options.
Stayed here 1 night on our Arizona / California family road trip. I would not recommend staying in Bakersfield. The whole town is not very nice. The hotel grounds are not well kept up. Somebody needs to sweep up, fix the shaky stairs to the second floor, etc. Note that there are NO elevators and you will have to carry your bags to the second floor. Our teenager enjoyed having his own bedroom and bathroom in this 2 room suite. The rooms were okay, clean enough. But we had several minor issues. The garbage in the kitchen had NOT been emptied. One bathroom toilet was clogged and there is no one on property to handle the issue. Front desk said they would have to call someone and didn't know when that would be. We wanted to sleep, so we just used the second bathroom. We couldn't get out of here fast enough. I will not be staying here again.
Spent only 1 night here - would be very comfortable for an extended stay. Room size is spacious - large kitchen - lots of storage and work space - clean - nice grounds with pool (with a special chair/lift for handicapped access to the pool) - bbq - sitting areas - grounds to walk (people and pets). Grounds were well kept. When we checked in there was a slight issue in our room - the desk had maintenance come over right away and the problem was corrected quickly by a very nice young man. When we checked in the front desk was very busy with a long line of people checking in - the 2 ladies handled the guests very efficiently. We enjoyed the breakfast - only thing we commented on is that the dirty counters/refills were not kept up with. Our first time staying at a Residence Inn - would be happy to stay at one again in the future.
My husband was transfered to Bakersfield for his job. During our transition period, we stayed here for 2 weeks. I loved it! The staff, esp Luis front desk are exceptional. Very friendly and eager to help you with any issue. Being this was my home for 2 weeks, I needed a variety of services. Luis was very helpful in helping me scan documents for the sale of my house, back east. Breakfast was also delightful, served complimentary every morning. It was very comfortable and clean. I felt completely safe with my children at all times. I would highly reccomend this extended stay. Whether single or with family all guests coming and going were very respectful as well.
Although I only stayed overnight, I enjoyed my visit because the room was very spacious, very updated, and very clean. Also, the staff were professional and courteous. If you stay at this hotel remember to fill up at the gas station near the hotel versus the one off of Interstate 5 headed to Bakersfield. The gas is a lot cheaper near this location.
We stayed here and had 2 small dogs with us! We used kennels for our dogs to not spoil the pristine room, and there were plenty of places to walk them around the area. Good eating and shopping within walking distance. Nice safe area too! The breakfast was really nice, and I would stay here every chance I had. Great place to stay!
Stayed one night here before heading north to the Bay Area. My family reserved a 2 bedroom suite with a king bed in each room. It was a standard Residence Inn complete with a full kitchen. There are lots of restaurants close to the hotel and well within walking distance if you're not in the mood to drive. Hotel is conveniently close to the highway but far from the noise. Breakfast was standard fare with scrambled eggs, sausage, waffle maker, oatmeal, and cold cereal. Generally, a good place to stay with family or with friends if you can share rooms appropriately.
Value for money! Good space in the rooms, include kitchen and sofa... the breakfast was really good... basics but good quality. We had a minor problem in the check in as we arrived late (12ish mid night) and the Sir in the reception didn't find the reservation we made through booking.com. So, we had to call the website to explain everything to the hotel. In my opinion, the person in the lobby didn't have enough experience with that type of booking and make loose about an hour there waiting. We were so tired and that it's why I gave one star less. The rest was absolutely great! And perhaps that incident, I'd recommend this place for sure...
