Stayed one night in one of their rooms, the requested $100 bond was proving a little difficult as their eftpos/credit card machine did not accept any of my cards, yet they worked perfectly well in the petrol station down the road. Was sent out to provide the $100 bond in cash from the local ATM -where my card also worked fine. The staff attitutude was not good, very unhelpful and was dismissive about the possibility that the problem was perhaps their machine.... The basic but clean. The mattress was very thin and uncomfortable. The room had a kettle and cutlery but no coffee/tea making facilities, also provided basic eating utensils and a shared bathroom but very surprised that they did not provide a towel. Before checking out the room was inspected before the bond was released, I found this somewhat demeaning.
This site was very easy to find and in a place like AUCKLAND, it could be reckoned to be pretty central. It was full of Rugby fans (or fanatics?) but they did not disturb us too much and it is near Northcote shopping area which has good eateries and a supermarket. Takapuna is a 5 minute drive (out of rush hours). Pretty average but fitted our needs when accommodation was at a peak elsewhere.
In July our kids could still swim in the indoor pool but they prepared their clothes for an after swim hot shower before they hopped in! The shared camp toilets, showers and kitchen were much better than the ones in our unit so we mostly used the shared facilities. The playground was good too. Although the unit was not the most comfortable, this is still our preferred North Shore facility. It is a five minute drive to Takapuna and five minutes walk to Northcoat supermarket etc.
We visited here at the start and end of the recent lions tour. We toured both islands, staying in various campervan parks around the country, and this was by some distanced the worst park we stayed in during our visit. Our main complaint was our pitch was on very wet mud and it was difficult getting to/ from our van without getting filthy. We had to pay for showers and wifi (unlike anywhere else we stayed) and office staff tried to charge us for a 1 night cancellation at the end of the holiday, despite telling them about this at the start of the tour and being told this was fine. On the plus side, this is relatively convenient for Auckland (20 minute bus journey) and the pub next door is top class! This was a little bit more expensive than other parks we stayed in ($40nzd a night),
A group of us stayed here as part of the Lions tour and it suited our needs. It's basic and not particularly comfortable but we made the most of it. The staff were friendly. Getting into town didn't take too long.
We stayed here for 4 nights in April. It was our fault that we left it too long to book & this was all we could get, well we won't be back. It could be common practice but because the Masters games were on (of no interest to us) the price was raised to $167 per night. This was $50 more than the norm' These were supposedly 'Deluxe' cabins but they are quite cramped. We paid a month in advance including $100 bond. We only received this bond back(finally!) on 28th May! We had to purchase shower tokens that were not refundable if not used yet they expected them to be returned, thievery. The numbered car parks were poorly signposted & returning one evening we couldn't park where we should, total chaos. Staff were alerted but did nothing to solve the problem.
This place is appalling. We were sent here as our Air New Zealand flight was diverted from Dunedin due to fog. We were asked for our passports and $100 to get a key. The person had no right to have our passports and the airline would have been paying him so he was double dipping asking for $100 so he was dishonest. Further complaints have been laid against this place with Air New Zealand and other authorities.
I stayed in this place for four nights .it was ok , it's a noisy place , a favourite place of tourist.good location , shops and restaurants are close by , good tidy rooms .no free internet. Front office staffs were helpful . Nothing to boast no views just a place to crash .
We have stayed at this Motel over the past 3 years when regularly working in Auckland and there is absolutely no recall that we have ever been there before. It starts directly from them never being able to find our company name on their computer. We can handle the staff unfriendliness as it is apparent that the management treat them as badly as their guests. There are 'do not' notes written everywhere further reminding you that this is not a business to be messed with. Buy shower tokens for a $ each and there is a note saying they will not refund them if you have any left over but you can give them back for free. Unbelievable. Takapuna motor camp is a lot friendlier and is where we are staying from now on or even Orewa. Looking at all the bad reviews i believe the management do not care as they appear to be pretty busy. Must be doing something right.
This caravan park was shocking recently stayed on my last night in Auckland in a motor home. Had to buy tokens if you wanted to use there showers, indoor pool was out of order and was told there was 8 dryers and washers and after checking in found out 5 dryers were not working and hadn't for a while, couldn't clean sewerage waste as was told the area was out of order, couldnt dump grey water was told area was out of order. OMG $100 was paid for a bit of power I don't think so just terrible which was a damper to a fantastic holiday and all the other parks were amazing.
