There was no complimentary coffee. It you didn’t want to buy breakfast you still didn’t have access to coffee. I have never been to a stingy hotel but this stay made me think stingy. Little warmth from staff. We saw a van parked outside that said warm cookies await at Hilton double tree. I was angry because I didn’t get a single warm anything!

Our room was clearly not vacuumed with debris all over the floor. They forgot soap for the bathroom. Their elevators are clearly not up to code and make weird noises and stop at floors with the elevator 6 inches higher than the floor of the hallway so as to prevent the luggage carts from being used. They turn the keycards off at 11:00 exactly and are quite rude when asking to be let in your room to grab your belongings 5 minutes after. Very rude staff.

I rarely write reviews, but this stay was frustrating from start to finish. When I arrived, there was some kind of miscommunication between Expedia and the hotel — DoubleTree’s system showed my reservation as canceled, even though it was still active on Expedia. I ended up waiting almost an hour in the lobby for the refund and had to rebook on the spot. Once I finally got to my room, it looked fine overall, but there was no hair dryer. I called the front desk several times and no one answered, so I had to go downstairs twice just to get one. The first time I was told it was “behind the door,” but it wasn’t — which meant another trip back to the front desk. Finally, I was disappointed that the hotel wouldn’t accommodate a late check-out. Other brands like Marriott and Hyatt have always been flexible with complimentary late check-outs, but DoubleTree told me they couldn’t extend mine because I booked through a third party. They only offered a “discount” instead, which felt unreasonable for a Hilton-brand property. Overall, the room itself was fine, but the service and communication made this stay far below expectations.

Overall we had a nice stay. Convenient location to Ann Arbor for a Michigan game. Nice breakfast in the morning. Nice staff. Bathrooms could be updated… but the room was clean.

I always love the friendliness of the staff at a DoubleTree! There was a very loud party when I returned to my room around 12am, which did make it difficult to fall asleep. The shower also had a stray hair on the ground. This was unusual for a Hilton, and I do plan to return in the future! Just wanted to share my experiences
