Air was dry and stuffy Wife complained she smelled like cigarette smoke though it was non smoking room.
I really loved our stay here. Locstion was great. Located just off US 23. Grocery store and many restaurants within walking distance. Place was clean and well run.
The front desk staff was courteous, professional, and accommodating. Multiple members helped us solve logistical problems.
Wished there was a restaurant within the building. Breakfast offered was nice.
The front desk manager was great! He was welcoming, knowledgeable and even though it was very late at night, he was just as on task as though it had been 3 in the afternoon. When I saw him at the end of hte shift - same! Great asset to your business

Except for the location, which required a taxi/shuttle to get on to University of Michigan campus, it was really great! Free shuttle to anywhere in Ann Arbor on weekdays.
location was not bad but not to my liking but every think else was just great and that made up for the drive time to get from the north side of campus to the south side.
The Hawthorn Suites was a fabulous place to stay. Loved having the extra rooms and full kitchen. Free breakfast was a nice add-on too. Thank you and I will definitely stay there again.

I booked a suite at this hotel because of the reviews. We were moving our daughter to Ann Arbor and knew we'd finish up early and wanted a nice relaxing room to crash in before our return trip home to Pennsylvania. We were not necessarily looking for a suite, but I thought with the price and the reviews that it would be a decent place. The suite needed updating, the upholstery on the furniture was dirty, and there was rust on the wall in the bathroom because there was no bathroom fan. The steam from the bathroom made the bedroom uncomfortable so we turned on the air conditioner only to find it was so loud we couldn't sleep while it was running. The bed was very uncomfortable forcing us to discuss just leaving in the middle of the night instead of remaining.I would not book a room at this hotel again.
The hotel has the new white duvet covers so you don't have to worry what may have happened previously to the coverlet. Very tidy-nice breakfast. Very courteous staff. Great stay all around.

Dear Guest, I am sorry that you and your wife had such a bad experience. All our rooms are non-smoking but there are occasions which we find out after checkout that a guest might have smoked in a room or just that they are heavy smokers and the smoke odor just stick to their clothes and stays in the room. If we find out that someone smokes in the room or the room has a smoke odor, we make sure to charge the guest the smoke fee and we do our best to air out the room to get rid of the smoke smell. Not sure if you told the front desk so that we could have moved you to a new room or not but that is always an option.
