The late night manager guy was not welcoming. Over all it's cheap, clean and there's two super markets near by.
I stayed here for one night, I was just in Amsterdam for a layover. The room was fine, very good lighting, quite at night, comfy bed. The man at the front desk was very helpful - he gave me a map of the city and when I had to go to the airport the next morning, he recommended public transit as a cheaper option and ended up saving me a lot of money! He gave me a map and schedule of the bus route I would have to take and then explained exactly how I would get to the airport. No confusion, no worries. Thank you!!
Large court yard full of young adults smoking cigarettes and weed. Staff was rude. Room wasn't all that clean.
The hotel is about 6 minutes walking distance from the no. 2 tram, The staff was lovely and very helpful, The room was clean but did not smell good- opening the window for a few hours helped, For me this is the second time in this hotel and they are better then the first, A nice hotel to sleep in.
Staffs attitude could have been better. Location about a 15 minute walk to nearest metro station. About a 25/30 minute commute to city center. Bathroom needed a deep clean, wish I had shower shoes to takes shower. All in All decent for the price we paid
Overall, this hotel was a pleasant experience. I liked the blue collar rate, and the location close to the tram. Some complaints was a room with no air conditioning, and a window with no screens, which left me with a few mosquito bites. 2.) A power outage, which left me in the dark, and nightmare notions of being murdered, was one Goosebump episode I did not want to feel. Otherwise, I had a excellent experience.
the hotel was further than expected. The staff were really great but other than that everything was a disappoint. The towels smelled funny and we needed to get our own.
The hotel was a good value for money. The room was very clean and the beds were comfy. The showers were also clean. They had a small restaurant and a beautiful garden. The staff were very friendly. They brought us a ventilator to our room when we needed it. A few hours after checkout, I realized I forgot my wallet under the sheets of my bed. We hurriedly got back to the hotel and the staff at the reception handed it back to us. I was very thankful for that!
The room we checked in AC didn't work and the window is locked. There was no fresh air in the room, only a fan. When I complained to the front desk, the receptionist was quite friendly. She changed us to another room that can open window so we can get some fresh air. The problem was there was no screen outside the window so the mosquitoes came to visit us at night. Everyone in my family including my two kids left Amsterdam full of mosquito bites! The hotel room is old, bathroom has odors. It is pretty far from city center. The room is pretty quite at night.
This hotel is such a wonderful reasonably priced hotel. Spotless and clean with helpful and friendly staff. A bit away from the center of the town but easily accessible by bus.
If I were younger and has no child it would be a good option to save money in Amsterdam where hotels are quite expensive. But traveling with children I suggest to avoid this hotel. everyything is old, painting on the corridor walls are awful and scarry, elevator which leads to the highest floor not working very often, so you have to carry baby up the stairs. Our boy didn't want to come back to the room because it is old and depressing, so we spent all day long outside (which I find nice, cos there is a lot thing to do in Amsterdam).
the hotel was fair-they put me in the 4th floor and the elevator goes only to the 3rd floor so I had to carry my stuff. they did not change the ed for my whole stay-1 week. The staff was super nice and tried to help.
Could have been cleaner. However, for the price and proximity to the tram it was great.
After reading the reviews I knew I had a 50/50 chance of getting a good room.... Avoid First Floor Rooms! They have zero ventilation. In serious need of renovation and deep cleaning. Strong Sewer smell in bathroom. We had room 7 on the first floor. There was construction going on nearby. The windows did not open. The shower curtain was mildew-y and needed change. Carpet awful. Had a small fridge that was not cleaned but worked for us. I suggest bringing own towels, shower shoes and slippers in case you get a first floor room. Great location to tram and grocery store near by. Next door to fire department. Sale of tram tickets with options. Numerous maps and tour idea pamphlets. Tasty fast food place inside hotel. Vending machines. Gated parking. Good price. Close to center of Amsterdam without being in the hustle bustle of nightlife.
Nice hotel The staff was great and very helpful. A short walk to the Tram.
BEWARE!!!!! Avoid! Woke up Itchy and squashed a bed bug on my pillow, he must have had a large family I didn't see. It has been two days since we checked out and I must have 50 + still very itchy bites on my neck, arms and chest . I did not appreciate how bad these things are when I saw them mentioned in an earlier review. They don't seem to be able to get rid of them. Fortunately this hotel was on the end of our stay and not the beginning. I found a bed bug crawling on my bag at the airport. Now everything gets a hot wash and the bags have to go into the freezer for a week. Read how bad they are if they get into your house.
Had a nice stay at this Hotel. No problems. It was a little ways out of the city center but we learned our way on the tram with no problems.
We didn't not expect much because of the previous reviews but it was actually amazing! Such a lovely hotel and only 10 mins away from the city center!! Definitely recommend it!!
Hotel was clean, professional, and overall good. Rooms are misleading as they didn't look like in the pictures online but still ok. Hotel was a little difficult to find but close to city.
Only the location is good. Rest - very poor. It looks that ovners of this hotel forgot to take care of this hotel and now it is ruined. On the photos you can see some new furniture, but it is misleading. Almost everything is old, destroyed, not working or dirty, sticky, unfresh. In elevator (this one which lead to the 4th floor) we feel like in slums. Unfortunately this impression remain the same when we go out from the elevator: some kind of dark and strange "works of arts" on the walls, dark corridor, flaking paint, old and unregulated doors to the rooms. Doors which can not be locked from the inside. Of course, without electronic card you are not able to enter the room from outside so you don't have to be worry that somebody enter the room, but our 1,5 y.o. son was able to open the door by himself without our help from the inside. Luckily he did it only twice and no more because he was affraid of the general impression of dark corridor. Bathroom - dirty, sticky walls, and absolutely not acceptable shower. Shower is fixed on the wall, almost clogged, so the water gushes everywhere but not at the person trying to take a shower. Try to bathe the baby then. Mission impossible. Clogged sink. You really want to quickly get out of the bathroom. Towels and bedclothes smell bad. Stained carpet. Broken light bulb. And our baby who every morning had new bug bites. Breakfast - average. Happy to left the hotel. Fortunately it was only 3 nights. Special thanks to my wife that she did not kill me for booking this hotel.
