An unexpectedly cool and bossy woman awaited us at the reception desk. Not a good start. Pretty tired after our long journey (we arrived at around 18h00), having checked into our room we nonetheless went straight into town, to eat and look around. Then we returned to the hotel, intending to relax by watching a little TV before turning in. The TV wasn’t working. We rang reception. Same snappy receptionist. “I’ll come straight up with another remote”. She didn’t. 15 minutes later we rang again, to learn that “We are really very busy.” Finally she arrived, with TWO replacement remotes, neither of them working. Off she went again, returning sulkily with yet another non-working one. She slammed the door as she left, and we gave up on the whole idea. We decided against breakfast —12.5 euros felt like a rip-off, presumably capitalising on the fact that in this business-park area there is nowhere else to eat. There was a kettle in our room......but no coffee. Only sugar + two teabags. We rang down to ask for some packets of coffee, but it turned out it wasn’t an oversight on the part of cleaning staff. It is management policy. You have to go down to the coffee machine in reception. 2 euros per (paper) cup. You then use the sugar supplied in your room. The floor-level shower cubicle has no door. So water flows through the wide gap, and most of the bathroom floor gets very wet — and dangerously slippery. Floor tiles definitely not non-slip. So : We paid 552 euros (September rates) for a two-night stay in a tiny room (the foot of the bed was about 8” / 20 cms from the wall - what a squeeze). Kettle but no coffee. Non-functioning TV. Inadequate shower. Get the message?

it a very nice hotel, modern and Staff are nice and helpful family rooms are very wide and so clean, everything was ok but doors are not sound proof you can hear the noise from the guests in the corridor during night which is a little bit annoying. the hotel is situated in a very nice area very close to arena metro station thus if you want to go to the city center it is a 20 minutes ride by M54. .

It was the most horrifying hotel experience I have ever experienced. It was almost a year ago when I left another review totally opposite - highly satisfied review recommending this place fully. It was a disgusting room with horrible sheets and towels, disgusting fridge and coffee area. In total surprise, I let the staff know about and the young lady tried to bring new sheets which they all were disgusting to her surprise while stating that the cleaning crew has been doing a horrible job the whole week!!!!. Absolutely horrified staying on my own scarf, morning I managed to speak to the manager who wanted me to speak to the owner. The owner was ridiculously and shamefully saying that she already knew and many people had complained blaming the cleaning crew!!! I am disgusted and has already reported this horrible experience to consumer complaints commission.

The pros first, - parking free which was great, as we drove from england needed it -location was ideal for a quick exit out of amsterdam as its close to the motorway Cons- - towels are way to small, for me they were like hand towels, couldn't even get them round my body - glass bathroom door why? No one wants a glass bathroom door, sharing a room with a mate we didnt want to see each other in the bathroom, cost cheaper to have a regular door.

Easy and fast check in. Friendly English speaking staff. Hotel foyer and rooms were very modern and clean. Room was a good size, lots of natural light but with great black out curtains for a good sleep. Bed larger than a standard double, comfortable and clean white bedding. We requested extra pillows at the time of booking and these were in the room on arrival. Our room had a smart tv so, although we couldn't watch normal tv (stated no arial connection) we were able to watch netflicks. Modern, clean bathroom with well lit mirror and hair dryer. Nice smelling soap via wall mounted dispenser. One criticism of the bathroom, the shower area was open so when showering, the whole bathroom got pretty wet. The car park was quite small and often full but we were able to use an overflow next door. It would be helpful to have direct access/working intercom to the over flow rather than having to leave the car, go to reception and ask them to let you in. Overall a great little hotel.

Booked this a little late, but had high hopes. Checked in, with no problems, first impression of the lady who checked me in, was a little bad, she seemed not so happy.. but boy was I wrong. She was super friendly and helpfull. Explained the whole transport system and how it would be more easy to travel by metro than drive into town. She was absolutely awsome. The room was very good, clean, and good beds, bathroom was nice, clean and all in all very nice. The best feature in the room was the AC, as it was hot as hell in there when I arrived.. but a few moments after I arrived and set the AC to 18 degrees the room was cool and nice.. I would definately come back here again.

I stayed in this hotel for the weekend . The hotel facilities and location were okay.I noticed my money was taken form the safe. I Let the reception know about this but they did no even apologise to me about it. I managed to speak to the police about it and now they are investigating.

Joy Hotel is a 10 to 15 minute train ride situated in the newly built business district. The hotel decor is modern and color was beautiful. The twin bed room that my friend and I had was very spacious and clean. There is a nice breakfast area and lovely bar and dining area. Make sure you say hello to our friend, Roland, the bartender. Very nice guy that can help you a lot with your travel directions/plans.

I stayed at the Joy during a business trip and would recommend staying there. The staff were really nice and helpful, and the bar staff was particularly friendly. The hotel has great transport links to the airport and city centre. The breakfast had everything you needed and the room was comfortable. Given the price, quality and service, I would stay again.

Easy check in & out, Clean room, Good location less than 5 minutes walking from the metro station, Basic breakfast, Staff some friendly & helpful and some not, My baby towel disappeared from the bathroom from day 1 & not found till day 5, no follow up...
