Location was excellent. Room was not cleaned very well. Did no fix squeaking bathroom door as requested. TV did not work on second day. Front desk and office staff very accomodating. However I would still recommend this hotel as location was great and rook was fine.

Hotel is beautiful and historic. Unfortunately it’s undergoing construction and 2/3 of the building is covered on the exterior blocking all room views. Staff nor Orbitz mad any indication of such construction however. The point of booking this particular hotel over others is the location and view, only one of which was satisfied. Decent place to stay, but feel let down for sure.

This had everything a hotel could offer. It was by far one of the best places we have stayed with ammenities such as free mini bar, the amazing spa area. The bath robes and slippers and complimentary umbrellas added an extra touch. The staff and the location was great as well.

Great hotel... great experience! Staff was helpful, courteous, and pleasant. Room was gorgeous! Location was great with easy walking distance to Amsterdam Centraal station. Can’t say enough about our wonderful stay!

A great experience. The staff was warm and welcoming. The facilities were top notch. The only small issue was the hot tub was not very hot and couldn’t seem to be adjusted, but the multiple saunas, steam room, and amazing pool easily covered for this one small issue.

The hotel is conveniently located only a five to ten minute walk from Central Station. I found my room extremely comfortable and the staff at the desk and the concierge was friendly and extremely helpful.

Booked my room more than 6 months ahead. Requested & paid for superior room w view as shown on your website. Received a room that looked out at a room across an alley. Went back down to reception. Supervisor told me rooms are given on a first come bases on when you arrive. We got there at 9am! Said she had no room w view, that they only have one type of room. Showed me a worse room w no view as my only option. She had a BAD attitude. I went up to my original room & went on your website to find 4 types of room offered & one available w a city view. Either your site is wrong or she was lying! But, she was so belligerent that I did not want to ruin my day any further & stayed in the room for my four day stay with the curtains closed.

Arrived at hotel - bottom of steep stairs. No one around to help with luggage. Reception consisted of 3 stand alone computers and one staff member who wasn't very knowledgeable about reservations.

Friendliest staff I’ve ever encountered. Efficient. Room was huge.

Dear esteemed guest, I am delighted to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us here at the Grand Hotel Amsterdam. We are pleased to learn that the historical charm of our monumental building was to your liking, although I regret to hear that you were not comfortable with the temperature in your room. Because our hotel is located in a monumental building we are unfortunately not allowed by the government to make great evasive changes such as installing a central airconditioning system. What we do have is a climate control system which circulates and refreshes the air but does not cool it. In the case that our guests experience discomfort because of the temperature in their room, we offer standing fans upon request. Here at the Grand Hotel Amrath Amsterdam we try our utmost to renovate where necessary to maintain the comfort of 5 star facilities with respect to the original charm and character of our monumental building, and as such we are momentarily making some restorations on the outside of the facade. I regret to hear that you were disturbed by the construction outside of our hotel! I do wish that you would have alerted the staff of this matter during your stay as we would have been more than happy to relocate you to another room where you would have been more comfortable.
