Can't agree with bad reviews about this hotel. Indeed the walls are thin, but I guess this is normal for a tiny country with tiny houses and tiny rooms. The hotel was clean, our befs were made every day, towels changed daily too. It is close to everything, it is in a well maintained neighborhood, so I couldn't ask for more. Of course, it is more than what I expect to pay, but this is freaking Amsterdam, after all, nothing I'd cheap unless u want to sleep in another town.
The staff were friendly and the hotel was clean. The breakfast was good all fresh and worth paying extra for. We had a room with 2 singles we would have preferred a double but the singles were big and very comfy. We had a shared balcony which was nice to sit out on at night. The hotel sits beside several tram stops and you can get into the centre in no time or walk which takes about 40 minutes but is worth doing
A great place to stay, lovely room, clean and a balcony so smokers can go outside, The breakfast was lovely too and generous. I would advise anyone to stay here. It is a long walk to the centre but only 10 minutes by tram, also close to the museums.
Our room was ROBBED!!! by the cleaners. they took my boyfriends money that was in the room. the manager was rude and didn't care or want to listen to us even though we were really upset. i looked at reviews before i booked it and i should have listened to the bad ones :( but i have learned my lesson.PLEASE DON'T STAY HERE! The walls were also like paper you could here every cough every conversation and everyone walking in the rooms above us. i literally thought the ceiling was about to come down on us. Wouldn't wish it upon anyone
Just got back from a trip with my boyfriend. The location of the hotel was good, was not far from the Heineken experience and it was by shops where you can buy basic shopping supplies like water and chocolate. We did buy a tram 3 day pass and we used this a lot, especially as the tram stop was only a 2 minute walk away from the hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful, especially when we arrived before check in and they allowed us to put our suitcases in the luggage room, while we went exploring Amsterdam. The room was very standard with comfy beds. Some of the walls had black marks on, which was a little disappointing. However, the price you pay for this hotel can’t go wrong.
Basic accommodation... visited with my brother so we weren't too bother about much but ... wifi a bit of hit and miss, power went out when we plugged in the kettle, room was very basic cleaned and the toilet , pardon en suite just about did the job. Let's say compact. Staff where nice and chill thou and we had an outside sort of patio for smoking which we shared with another room or two . Location was great too.. can fault it. Walking distance to the ... local attractions ...red or green. For that I would recommend it if like me ur staying with ur bro or mate... but that as far as I go.
Quiet Area away from the crowd but very close to the Heart of Amsterdam. I didn't enjoy the hotel that much since I was much more bothered to enjoy the best of Amsterdam and live it as a local. It's a Cost Effective and I recommend you this Hotel if you travel to Amsterdam.
Just returned from a weeks holiday here for our first trip to Amsterdam. Firstly the location is good, the number 4 tram stop is 1-2mins away for easy access from and to central station. Albert Heijn is 5mins walk away for food essentials and there is many cafes and eateries within walking distance. FEBO is close by so be sure to try all they have to offer. Alburt Cuyptmarkt is also within walking distance, be sure to visit for fresh food and cheaper souvenirs then central. Check in was quick. We stayed in room 18 next to reception which had access to a shared garden with room 17. The walls were filthy and peeling, odd brown stains covered the walks, ceilings and carpets and it smelled stale. We had two single beds toe to toe and the room was tiny. No fridge or clean water facilities available. The sheets on first inspection looked clean and folded on the beds, however later in the evening when we returned after visiting the city we tried to settle in bed and noticed urine and blood stains on the sheets! My partner went straight to reception to complain and a manager came to the room to see. The Chinese hotel manager was rude and aggressive, he stated we had knocked over coffee on the sheets.. We hadn't consumed any food/drink in the room as we had only dropped our bags off before heading into central earlier. Furthermore after a lengthy discussion with him refusing to except that the sheets were blood and urine stained prior to us even touching them he changed just one sheet and stated the bed linen is changed only after 4days staying with them. That's terrible I've never stayed in a hotel that didn't change the sheets every day and I have huge suspicions they don't change them even if new guests arrive. Disgusting! We slept on our own clothes and used our coats as blankets for the trip duration as we had uncomfortable itchy bites head to toe after the first night. Beware of the bed bugs. Every night was noisey, the upstairs rooms feet sounded like an elephant stampede. We could hear every phone call, personal conversation and argument from the reception as the walls are paper thin with huge gaps below the room doors. The room next to us (17) regularly brought prostitutes home in the early hours and had parties. We complained to reception and they did nothing. They didn't care. The bathroom was tiny, you could only have one person in there at one time. At night silver fish came out from the tiles and sink. The entire place is terrible and needs a refurb and decontamination. This is honestly the worst hotel we've stayed in. We could barely sleep while here and going home covered in bites has truly put us off. We paid a lot of money and feel it was wasted. We will be back to Amsterdam but never to Atlantis hotel. As NHS workers we don't get much time away so when we do, I don't expect to pay over a £100 a night for a squat.
Me and my other half just got back from holiday yesterday and we stayed at Hotel Atlantis. The location is okay and it is quite close to the city centre. You can get the number 4 Tram straight to town. The hotel is located near many coffee shops. One of our favourites were YoYo coffeeshop and Gallery so Check that out if you can. The hotel itself was appalling. I’ve never seen such poor lack of service in the United Kingdom and didn’t really think this hotel would be of such poor quality. The wallpaper in the room is falling to bits. The room was filthy there was a urine stain on my bed and when complaining to the so called “hotel manager” he came into the room shouting at me stating that this was never here before me and my partner arrived. I am a 27 year old adult and to be told it was from me was very degrading. I can assure him that I know how to use the toilet and I was potty trained as a quite small baby. The hotel manager got very aggressive with me and made me feel very uncomfortable. I thought that I would at least receive an apology but I quickly found out that the Dutch have a very rude attitude and the customer is never right in any situation. I barely got any sleep as the neighbours were incredibly loud and when I spoke to reception about the constant screaming we heard at 3am nothing was done about it. I discovered silverfish near the sink where our tooth brushes were left which is incredibly disgusting. I also suspect bed bugs as me and my partner both have bite marks all over our legs and arms and at 1 degrees Celsius I doubt it’s mosquitos. All in all the hotel quality was appalling and I’m shocked it’s running. Also I was convinced before staying that it would be a great and affordable option considering the good reviews but I can now confirm I would never stay there again. It’s a waste of time and money. Also smoking isn’t prohibited in this room. They state it is but it really isn’t as they charge you €150.00 if you smoke in the room.
We only started overnight but were impressed. Hotel is clean,well-located and good value. Near Albert Cuyp Market,Heineken Experience and Sarphati Park. Good breakfast for €9. Very friendly Spanish guy at reception.
