Flights Review

Aug 3, 2018

This was part of an air france/delta itinerary. Very confusing trying to figure out which company we were actually flying, which website to use, which terminal to go to etc.

Jul 19, 2018

A delay with Air France caused us to miss our next flight, stress, a jogging rush to our next gate (that we later found out was not possible for us to get there on time) and our family to make a useless 3 hour round trip to pick us up at the DAY airport. The delay would have been OK and understandable, but once we descended the ramp off the Air France plane, we could not get any help as to whether it was even possible to make it to our gate for our next flight and our gate#. We were highly stressed and exhausted (I am 62 years old, with asthma) once we found our gate # and raced to get to it...only to find we had missed our flight. When I made our reservations for our trip, I did not choose the least expensive return flight from DTW to DAY so we could get to DAY earlier. Also, at one point, before we departed for our trip, Delta changed our DTW to DAY flight to a later flight and then there was the Air France delay with no assistance for our next flight, once we were in the airport...until far too late, then the assistance was rushed and the information not complete and was inaccurate. Our family made a 3 hour round trip to DAY to get us...we missed the flight and were not there, but were unable to call them in advance with information before they left for DAY because we were rushing, stressed and did not have the needed information yet to let our family know whether we would be on our scheduled flight or not. Delta staff initially told us the Air France delay was due to weather so they could not give us a hotel and gave us a hotel discount voucher and an early AM flight for the next day. I told them that the delay was NOT due to weather and involved something about people needing removed from the flight/baggage needing rechecked and people boarding late. Delta staff was very kind and considerate and did get us a hotel, an overnight pack, pre-check in, our boarding pass and TSA precheck. That was wonderful! However I would like a refund for the difference in price for the more expensive flight so we could get to DAY early vs the cheapest flight, and fuel for my family that made the unnecessary trip to DAY and had to return to DAY the next day to get us. Orbit, Delta and Air France were all wonderful/excellent except for when we encountered problems with the delay and could not find help until it was too late and too little of information.

We had to dash from our late Air France arrival a mere half hour before the KLM departure and had misplaced one boarding pass. Staff was quick and friendly getting us on in time!
